Can we finally say the "Long Dark Night of the Soul" is finally over?

All I can say is this:  "It feels so GOOD to have a Michigan Defense again!

Having a defense that we can be really proud to call "OURS"! And they play like some of the defenses from our not too distant past ('97 and '06). That is my point! This defense may be that quality! It was embarassing for too many years that we just did not seem to be able to stop anyone . . .

I was thinking about this yesterday. 7 years in the wilderness.

Ohio State is insanely lucky given that the Tressell situation was sort of a worst case scenario.

2009 was Pete Carroll's last year at USC. Their lows weren't as bad as ours but they're about to start over again.

Texas is about to start over after 3 years of Strong.

Notre Dame has been mostly in the wilderness for 2+ decades .

7 years seems like a long time. But if it werent for Harbaugh theres no reason to think it would have ended anytime soon. There arent many coaches that can come in and make a program a power.

Obviously, we need to start holding our own against OSU to be "back", but we are clearly atleast back to Michigan during the Carr / Tressell era, which is relative paradise to the last 7 years.

Fear not because that starts this year. We got a glimpse of it from last year's game until the luckiest thing ever happened. It's funny because I still see MSU fans online and Twitter saying they still like their chances against UM, which, to me, is laughable at this point. If we don't beat MSU by two or more scores, I will be somewhat disappointed. I know Dantonio will get those losers ready for the game and it just might be close in the first half or even in the third, but I fully expect a win.
