PennLive Take: Different Now than Last Week

I don't know how often anyone watches the post game video hits beat writers do, but the shock and awe on display here, to me, is pretty telling.

Like a couple other people, I wonder if this is the staff that writes those articles too, because they seemed pretty aware of their chances going in and surprised that it was worse than even they thought. That being said, I had to chuckle when, at the beginning, they did talk about how most of the more "dispiriting" losses for PSU came at the hands of Michigan and Ohio State.

How are people still fans of that program. They harbored a pedophile for 4 fucking decades. There are plenty of college teams out there to root for that won't make you look like a clown. If Michigan did this shit, I'd dump them from all memory like a Boren and move on with my life.

PSU's fan base is terrible, yes. But we need to meet them more in the middle of they are ever going to move beyond that. They knowingly honored a pedophile for only a few years. They need to stop that. It feels misleading to say they honored a pedo for four decades. Assign only the appropriate amount of blame

A number of my acquaintances who are PSU grads sent me notes of the “we surrender” variety after the game.

During the game, when M was up 28-0, my wife reported one of our neighbors, a guy who flys a Nittany Lion flag from a pole in his front yard, was out cutting his grass.

Ya I watched this this morning...these two guys look like they were on the receiving end of a massive US military shock and awe campaign.  Dazed, shocked and bewildered....loved it.

This video is amazing. These guys sound ready to jump off of a building.

To their credit, they are being realistic, IMO. They see the talent problems and they know the season is going to be a battle.

article.  Not apples vs. oranges.   Flounders and Jones I've always found to have good and realistic takes.

Two things David Jones did get wrong, that 33-11 game was in 2000 not 2003.  Neither was it 33-3, given U-M scored on the game's final play.  Jones usually has a good memory and doesn't make factual errors like that, but no big deal big picture.

disparity prompted me to look up their 2017 commit list in the hope JH could snag 1-2 top recruits from that dumpster fire. Nope. There might be 1 or 2 guys offered by UM, but their recruiting class is very weak overall and especially at the top end. The talent gap will continue ...

We should never forget how terrible Michigan football was for most of 2008-2014.  Just 2 years ago, Michigan was every bit as horrible as PSU is.

PSU needs their Harbaugh to turn that program around.  The question is....do they have one?

O'Brien would have had that program competitive by now.   Its too bad for them that he bolted for the NFL.
