There seems to be more to it than they are letting on. Today's game is the kind of game where you would play him if there is any way at all that you could. He does not seem close to playing.

Their past 4 year history, including most of their returning players- is a good indicator of not good status, on top of that, although they beat lesser foes, when you examine the film they were playing slightly better than their opponent.
Until CO can line up and move the ball on an established quality team, they are safe to be called what they have shown themselves to be - average at best more likely, not good

Because he turned down the NFL to play Michigan football this year, not to sit there like a china doll.

They said he wasn't practicing early in the week and they would see toward the end of the week, so not very surprising. I agree it's a little worrisome, but if they thought he might practice this week, he must at least be close. I expect to see him next week.

The one silver lining is that the guys backing them up are getting really valuable playing time and they'll be ready to take over come next year.

the day I saw David Molk lying on the block M after returning from a broken bone in his foot only to injure his knee.
Great as he was, he was only one player. . .

tightening up. Zordich surmised it was a result of overtraining:
“[H]e worked his tail off all summer. Probably worked a little too hard. I think that might have been a little too much torque on his body, and some of the issues that he has had the last couple weeks may have been from that. But he had a helluva camp and then all of a sudden his back started to tighten up, which affected his hamstring, which affected his quad and he’s just fighting through these things right now."
Backs are bad; hammies are terrible. Color me concerned. I hope he gets the rest he needs, and comes back at full strength later in the season.

Penn State has some great skill players and Barkley will cause his share of problems.

Taco and Mone come as no surpirse. Was really hoping to see JL out there today even for just a few plays so he can get back to some game action beofre the B1G season begins.
Hopefully this is just Harbaugh really erring on the side of caution with him vs this now becoming an issue that will last the entire season.

Colorado's "passing attack" is largely horizontal, not vertical. Lewis is good against both, but the rest of our secondary is just fine when they match up numbers-wise against the screen game.

They didn't "throw all over us." They got a few slants and a post. They didn't score and barely got to 200 yards on the day. The sky is not falling. 99.9% of games involve the opposition getting positive yards.
