Helmet stickers on helmets (Photo)

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

There was a thread last night wondering what they'd look like, so here they are.

Sexy.

#12 Chris Evans and the #5 Peppers helmet.

I just don't understand this fan base. Freak out about number fonts but get a hard on for stickers. Going to enjoy the matter helmets while we can because after week 5 we won't be able to see it.

I'm not with them as much as last year, but not up to me. Just glad we have our maize back and not the crappy gold color we had last year. The jumpman uniforms and the matte blue with shiny wings are definitely sharp.

Stickers shouldn't be more that half that size. Think of the added weight they'll have to carry by the end of the year. I suppose players can put them on the visor, as well as the inside of the helmet

Maybe it's cause I grew up with plain helmets but I just think it looks so good with nothing on them. The sticker look feels cluttered to me, especially in the second half of the season when they will be getting filled up. But whatever motivates the kids is good for me!

Love the stickers-- that's the winged helmet from my early days of watching college football. It's as pure as hearing Keith Jackson say "On this lovely afternoon here in beautiful Ann Arbor, the Michigan Wolverines..."

I found this quote from an interview he did with CBS Sports, last year.

"You have offensive goals, so if you played a certain number of plays and we met certain offensive goals, you got a sticker for that," Butt said. "There's special teams goals and individual goals -- if you graded out at a certain percentage based on your film you got a sticker."

It sounds like they aren't given lightly, the players like them and they have value. If it's good for the coaches and players, it's good enough for me.

Even if they are giving out a sticker for dressing for a game, how easy is that to obtain? Did you get one? Making this team is a huge accomplishment, getting on the field is something that only a handful of people accomplish every year. It represents thousands of hours of work and recognition of that work by the coaches with a small token like a sticker the players wear with pride is pretty cool IMO
