Well, this kind of stuff usually makes its way into Ace's recruiting posts, so it's not like he posted useless info. You could've just not clicked on it. I enjoyed the thread.

And Brian will go over them in depth in the UFR anyway, right? t's really important that we save room for all the important threads!

Heres a rule: if you don't care don't read it, and don't comment in the thread. If no one cares the thread goes away. I just checked and we have plenty of threads left in the back, no need to ration.

This place has hundreds or thousands active posters yet there are very few new threads most days. I don't know why being anal is the norm on this forum but it is. Personally, I don't think being anal is at all related to intelligence, but it seemsl like thats what people are going for.
Just my 2 cents.

Oh, you want to have a CONVERSATION do you? Everything worth talking about has already been talked about. Everyone just shut the hell up so I can get blackout drunk in peace!

The title says clearly what the thread is about. It does not say that you must click on it. In fact, there are no rules whatsoever about needing to click on anything you don't feel like reading. So your pisstastic posts are just you looking for attention and points - just to see yourself speak. So feel free to get off your high horse and not click the threads you don't think rise to your level of greatness...

If it makes you feel any better, we only have 18 commits right now. So far there's no indication that stat threads will be posted for "recruits." Committed players are the only ones mentioned in this thread. And five of our commits are offensive linemen, who are unlikely to post many stats. So you're probably talking about 13 or 14 kids in any given week who *might* do something worthy of a thread, and most people probably aren't going to start a thread for "Carter Dunaway had 1 catch for 2 yards" or "Ben Mason made 6 tackles."
It's nothing to get worked up about.

It makes them feel better to put someone else down.
I actually think that there is something insidious about it and exposes insecurities that they themselves harbor. They are insecure that they care about Michigan football too much and they make themselves feel better about it by distinguishing the superior way in which way they are supporters (such as, "Well, I don't care about teenagers unless they are actual commits.").
You see quite a bit of this on this site. Just the other day, I read a post mocking another poster for "scouting" the game. Maybe "scout" is the wrong use of words but weren't a lot of us watching the Hawaii game with genuinely a similar interest at least to observe our next opponent?
We are all supporters of the program. It is pathetic to put each other down just because you think you support the team in a superior manner.
I don't care about our apparel mostly because I don't care about apparel in life and dress horribly. Belittling other people over it? Examine your own motives.

Thanks for the stats, Brightside. Looks like McCaffrey could be a nice all-around athlete, not even just as a QB. Despite going against IMG, Taylor's stats are concerning - he wanted so see how he'd do against better competition...

I didn't get to watch the whole game, but from what I did he was the short yardage up the middle plodder in the wing T. A lot of the carries I saw were 3rd and short.
Even after watching some of the game I aggree with some of the sentiment though. I really wanted him to blow up.

Right, because wishing a guy had better numbers means that person doesn't understand football very well.

That's not one person using multiple accounts, that's multiple people piling on you because you were an ASS! This CANNOT BE the first time that's happened to you?!
Here's how you could've handle it, in a way that made your point and still seemed to agree with the people bemoaning Taylor's line: "That IMG D line was too much for Taylor's O line, he never had a chance - but yeah he may not be the next Ty Wheatley. But he gets to work with him, so I'm saying he's got a shot!"
Try something like that next time, rather than "you dumb fucks don't know nothing about footbaw" see if less people jump on you. A suggestion.....
EDIT: And before anyone on here disses Taylor in ANY way, please be advised HE created my Avatar! Go Blue Kurt Taylor!

agree with that mostly. pretty sure all 11 IMG defenders end up at big time programs - i didnt catch the whole game but #54 vincent was dominant at DT, the LBs were all over the place (including anthony), even jaymest williams (whos pretty darn athletic) had to dance to pick up tough yardage vs IMG. i only really saw taylor playing FB in their wing T and IMG shut down the belly series, though hes a tough runner and made some nice blocks too.
but i also agree with others that taylors tape does not show an elite RB prospect. hes obviously a great kid, fits harbaughs style and culture, and will sweat to earn some type of role at m but hes physically limited now and will remain limited at the next level (so his role will likely be limited too - though id love to be wrong if he ends up 2-3 yr starter)
August 28th, 2016 at 11:30 AM ^
Yeah, the up the middle role wasn't a good straw to draw for that game.

Haha....can you imagine announcers calling the game when they look down in the huddle and see Speight, O'Korn, AND Morris?!
McCaffrey has enough speed to do that stuff in high school, but I'm not so sure he has it for the next level. He's a good athlete from a very athletic family, but I'm not so sure he has the same footspeed his older brothers did at this age.
