I'm a Twitter snooper. I don't follow and tweet at recruits but I check in when I hear good news or about a new offer.

One thing about Martin is he rarely shares or retweets things to tip his hand. He has been tweeting things A LOT this weekend as you can tell.

I'm guessing this is good news.

On a separate note, when Hudson said he was committing soon he responded to a "Go Green" tweet with a "Go White". Things may have changed since but that was a pretty clear showing of his thoughts at that time.

Or I'm crazy....

Was going to reply to "the first crystal ball of the day to Martin" that the linked 247 page showed at least one c.b. earlier today, for Hudson.  Another just after midnight, one yesterday and now a 4th from just about an hour ago.  While he's in Ann Arbor.  Don't know a thing, but just sayin'.

I don't know, man. October thru March is a ROUGH time to be in MI. Granted, there can be some nice days in Oct and / or March, but it's generally cold and inconsistent, at best! I think - for me - the hardest part is just not seeing the sun for several months. I'm solar powered, and it took me two years and lots of tanning booths to adapt!

Sorry I've lived in Colorado, it's great but doesn't compare to Cali.  In Colorado you can't drive to Tahoe (best lake) or Pebble Beach in under two hours each way.  No ocean in Colorado.

Michigan is awesome, but pretty miserable for 4 months.  California is way overpopulated, the infrastructure is crumbling, and seems to get dirtier every year!

People don't realize that Colorado is sunny and 45-50 degrees almost every day during the winter, and 45 degrees in Denver feels like 60 degrees in Michgan, due to the lack of humidity. I regularly drive less than an hour up the mountain and ski on Friday mornings and then come down and play golf in the afternoon January-March. I really don't think there is a better place in the world to live!

You can't compare the two states.  California is superior is every way.

It has:

- higher mountains than Colorado

- lower valleys

- less humidity

- more humidity when you want it

- bascially choose your weather

- better deserts

- lake Tahoe

- seqoiuas / redwoods

- better beaches - duh

- I won't even get into culture, not even close.

Certain things about Cali do stink.  Colorado is awesome.  I'm not knocking it.  Utah is better though.  SW Colorado is the best part.  Denver is the plains.  I could never live on the plains.  Looks like Kansas.

I've lived in CA (Davis, San Jose, LA, Oakland, SF, and now Berkeley) for most of the past 20 years. Given its ethnic, political, climatic, and pretty much every other kind of diversity, I would beware generalizing about the state and its 38 million people based on a year in (maybe) one place.

I spent three years living in Aspen after finishing law school and before I returned to reality. The weather in Colorado is great.  The winters are real, with snow but with low humidity and a warm sun.  The summers are breathtaking in the mountains as are the falls.  Low 80's during the day and 40's at night.

I've also spent a lot of time in SoCal...nice weather as long as you like drought and the occasional week of fog.  Anyone thinking that Cali's drought can't last, historically, they have lasted for over 200 years.  Rings on redwood trees tell stories from long ago.

I'll take the seasonal changes of Colorado anytime.

As for Michigan winters, you can have them. I've been through four of them.  Unfortunately, winds blow from west to east and when you have Lake Michigan to your west, it can make for some interesting lake effect weather.

Was just e-mailing with a California friend about the damage from the fires, but my good friend in Hawaii looks forward to the hurricanes (when they know about them in time) because they're forced to tie up their boat and she gets to stay in a hotel.

The tsunami wasn't as pleasant for her, because they were told to stay in the boat and move further out into the ocean where the waves can move under them.  Supposedly safer, but pretty scary with all the lights out in the middle of the night and not knowing for sure when they were allowed to move back in.

And wasn't today a pretty day in A2?  Heard storms are flitting around and was concerned.

I finished high school and went to college in Florida. I wouldn't call January and February beautiful down there. All too often its 40-50 degrees and the rain is miserable. I'd rather just go back to Michigan and have the snow... at least then I can still do sports albeit winter sports. (Maybe that's why I moved back to the Midwest)

Pinellas county is an entirely different climate. St Pete Florida has 300+ days of sun per year and a Guiness record of 768 consecutive days of sun. St. Pete is known as the "sunshine city". Dec can get a little cool which is welcome (like 62 F) but it frequently goes weeks without rain and there usuallly aren't problems with drought because it rains all summer. It's a micro climate too, people from Tampa will come into the office on Monday and bitch about the rain all weekend and it will have been sunny in St. Pete.

The weather for the Michigan spring practice in Sarasota is what we get at least four months of every year.

No doubt. I was born and raised in SE Michigan. Now live in the Chicago area. My wife has family here but if I had my way, when we are ready to retire in 20 years I'd like to sell our house in Illinois (our property taxes are insane) then get two little town houses. One in Ann Arbor for May thru Thanksgiving (get season tickets for football) then another toe home somewhere down in Florida.

November, February, March, July and August all suck. They are either rain, cold and mud or humidity and intense heat. Fall, Early summer, late spring and early winter all are awesome. Down South they have 7 Months like July and August and 3 months like November and March. They can keep it, Ill take Michigans weather all day long over the deep souths.

Agreed! As an out of state student, I literally froze in A2. I'd never experience cold like that before (unless I'm skiing).

It's too bad they don't reverse the academic calendar to start in March and go through Thanksgiving. That way students could actually enjoy Michigan when it's nice outside!
