The Camp Randall Hockey Classic, Big Ten Network 1-0 Badgers early; Hogan gave up (another) softy when he wouldn't control a rebound. Damn cheeseheads.

This win will help our tournament chances so much if we hold on... couple with wins over Bowling green on tuesday and UNO next weekend and we will be sitting pretty around 13-14-15 in the nation

Well it looks like we are back. I made it home for the 3rd period. WOW. What even happened? I was seriously hoping for a tie. That would have been very helpful, a win would have been amazing. I would normally consider myself as a person who doesn't complain about the refs, but did that really happen? The first penalty was a standard the home team is losing by a goal late, lets give them a chance. Which, although stupid it does happen. Terrible call though. Why did the wisconsin player have to throw his stick while being tripped? but the 2nd penalty? really? They could make that call 40 times a game. No lie. probably 40 times. But, we just needed to finish, we had at least 3 or 4 chances late to score another, and no one could finish. Alright boys, lets close out these last 7 strong. ND got swept, so we are looking solid for that top 4 finish. Lets take out BGSU tuesday and hopefully take our last trip into Omaha for while and grab 2 victories!

Having gone to the Cold War in '01 and now having been to this, the Cold War was about a million times better. There was just something really big missing from this game. And you gotta love the officials deciding not to swallow the whistle in the 2nd half of the 3rd period, unlike the other 2 and a half periods of the game. At the same time, our power play needs to be better than that. We essentially handed them the same goal twice. Also, random thought, does anyone know if the adidas knit hats the scratches and backup goalies were wearing are available anywhere? Striped with the little ball on top? They looked awesome, and just cruising around the 'net they don't seem to be available anywhere.
