4* OL Kevin Jarvis Offered
SEC-caliber guard, Kevin Jarvis, was offered by Michigan. Yet another lineman prospect from the Illinois pipeline: http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1644775-michigan-continues-offer-run-for-jarvis.

SEC-Caliber?

Kinda fitting that he went to coach a team whose mascot is a pig...

One might almost say KARMA!

True, ...or else "Woo Pig Sooie!!"

SEC-caliber? We shouldn't worry about that. The SEC should be more worried whether or not he's Michigan-caliber.

Thank You.

I'm wondering how the OP could have joined almost a year ago and not yet figured out that the SEC is not viewed as a paragon of all things college football here.
February 22nd, 2016 at 2:46 PM ^
This is true. I mean, SEC school Florida wishes they had Michigan-caliber players. Would have made the bowl more competitive.

the OP's SEC-caliber post. Only Michigan-caliber OP's belong on MGoBlog.

What is this pipeline you speak of? Last recruit from Illinois was Ian Bunting.

Recruited plenty of successful linemen from Illinois. That state produces a lot of big uglies, and we need those dudes. Prairie pipeline, if we build it they will come!

Don't forget Laquon Tr--uh, never mind.

Not sure I would call it a pipeline, but Michigan has brought in some good offensive linemen from the Land of Lincoln as far back as I can remember. With apologies to those I've missed...

The SEC must not have very many SEC-caliber players if this guy barely qualifies. Florida is certainly lacking.

This cannot possibly be a bad thing. :)

Clearly you guys are forgetting that Laquon Treadwell was maybe almost a silent to Hoke before...bagmen. Go Illinois pipeline!

a pipeline as a straw

Hopefully SEC caliber doesn't mean he acts like Peyton Manning, or any other Tennessee football player really...

Is that as a mere "powerful 6-foot-5, 324-pound guard prospect" Jarvis might be repurposed to tight end under Coach Harbaugh. Thus our *tight end* pipeline in Illinois. I see (never SEC), said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

Former Michigan Center and Rimington Award winner David Molk is from Illinois.
M also recruited Illinois OL Ethan Pocic, but stopped when the OL position was filled. Long story short... Not a good decision by Hoke and coaches.

Maybe another Kurt Becker? All-American guard and team co-captain in 81. A prototypical Michigan lineman- powerful, skilled and durable.
