Jed York comments on Harbaugh in teleconference
Here is the transcript: http://www.ninersnation.com/2016/1/4/10711260/full-transcript-of-jed-yo…
What I found interesting is that he claims to have tried very hard to keep HARBAUGH in SF. Obviously it should be taken with a grain of salt, but if true it indicates that Michigan is exactly what Harbaugh wants. GO BLUE!January 4th, 2016 at 6:31 PM ^

You know the type, loud as a motorbike, but wouldn't crush a grape in a fruit fight.

Yeah, but never bring a grape to a fruit fight. The banana will kick his ass.
January 5th, 2016 at 10:43 AM ^
Personally, I'd be more fearful of the oranges, a more acidic personality. Bananas are more afraid, mushy and sensitive.

I welcome such language. That song brings back nostalgic feelings of 6-7th grade

Thanks for pointing that out. Rick Ruben killed it on that song,

You crazy for this one Rick. This ya boy.

hope he is enjoying sitting at home instead of in the playoffs!!!

Born on third and thinks he hit a triple...

We already knew York was an idiot. Now we know he's someone who doesn't have the personal or professional integrity to stand behind his decisions.
January 4th, 2016 at 7:09 PM ^
Where would we be without him?
January 4th, 2016 at 8:13 PM ^
Now that the "no one leave the NFL for college" cannard has been destroyed, it's time York left SF to take the Ohio State athletic director job.
January 4th, 2016 at 8:57 PM ^
Can we get a Kickstarter or a Petition going asap? With that NFL experience they would surely kick our butts for generations. I think it would be good for college football though, we should make the sacrifice.

"You reap what you sow, brah." - Jim Harbaugh
January 4th, 2016 at 6:35 PM ^
Another big picture question. We only get these like once a year, so we've got ask the big, big ones, the macros. The perception was that Jim Harbaugh was extremely difficult to get along with and that was a large reason why you guys parted ways, that you personally did not like him or get along with him, that Jim Tomsula was the easiest guy in the world to get along with and that's why you hired him. Can you address that issue? Every owner, every team has the personality of its owner. Are you in need of somebody who you're comfortable with, who makes you feel good when you're in a room with them?
"We're in need of somebody that can win Super Bowls."
So, personality doesn't matter?
"We're in need of somebody that can win Super Bowls."
Didn't you have that guy?
"We haven't won a Super Bowl since 1994."
January 4th, 2016 at 6:44 PM ^
+1 for the correct use for the term douchenozzle!
January 4th, 2016 at 6:51 PM ^
It's not like the Niners ever got their asses handed to them either. The way I saw it, the Giants got very lucky, the Ravens were tough as hell and played awesome but could've been beat and the Shehawks played out of their asses in their home stadium. Really tough team themselves mind you. What do you do? It's like the Jazz against Jordan in the finals back in the day. Pray the pickle squirts your way.
January 4th, 2016 at 6:55 PM ^
York's stated goal is to win Super Bowls.
He said that they haven't had a coach that could win a Super Bowl since 1994.
Then why did he try so hard to retain Jim Harbaugh, as he said he did?
Everything he said was contradictory, self-serving bullshit.

because those comments are likely to have some pissed off 49ers fan key his car or sock him in the jaw. What an arrogant man
January 5th, 2016 at 1:39 AM ^
Have you ever thought of selling the team to a more competent owner?
We're in need of somebody that can win Super Bowls.
January 4th, 2016 at 6:36 PM ^
"8-8 and 5-11, neither one of them is acceptable to me."
So any coach who goes 8-8 or worse gets fired after one year then? Sounds like solid strategy to me.
Also, I loved the part where he was asked if the 49ers had had a coach capable of winning a Super Bowl and he responds that they hadn't won one since 1994.
January 4th, 2016 at 6:39 PM ^
Sounds like he's trying to save face since his Jim Tomsula experiment failed miserably. But sure, it wasn't his fault since he tried so hard to keep Harbaugh and then was left with no other options once Harbaugh left.

Likewise. I hate that when you keep going over it because you're sure you must have missed something clever, but finally conclude it just doesn't make sense and you've wasted valuable minutes trying.
It is however a good post - fun read. York is delusional and incompetent - tough combination.

Fuck York... glad he did or didn't try.

from the Indy reporters well before they even had an opening. I think people are starting to realize that Harbaugh is where he belongs and he knows it.
