I own many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

they write them in crayon.

you DID come here to play school.

Read the comments on that thread -- you're not in the minority at all; nearly everyone agrees with you. It was vandalism, not fandom.

As far as I'm concerned, the Sparty statue is fair game. But not the Magic Johnson statue. That opens the door for them to go after the Bo statue, and that is absolutely off limits.
October 16th, 2015 at 10:40 AM ^
The Magic Johnson statue should be off limits but they say they don't know who did it and until they have any evidence we can't assume that it was one of us.

think. He is a real person, he is still alive, his "condition." I think it is just a combination of things. And he really kind of transcended MSU and is a national icon.
October 16th, 2015 at 11:32 AM ^
He has/had AIDs. Not exactly something to celebrate.

I did not create this PC world, I just live in it, or I am plugged into a program that makes me think I am living it if you believe Lawrence Fishburn. I am not saying that is a "reason to celebrate him," I am saying that it probably plays into why people think he is off limits.

I think he's just HIV+. Don't recall reading he developed AIDS.

Not according to this reposted article. 6th paragraph, Lakers' doctor said Magic didn't have AIDS.

The blue "M" obviously suggests it was a Michigan fan, but you're theorizing it may have been an inside job. Dastardly of them.
This does lead me to ask, where were you when this "S" was painted on our beloved wolverine?
October 16th, 2015 at 11:00 AM ^
but your point is well taken. Overall though, it's really just a kids being kids issue.
October 16th, 2015 at 11:13 AM ^
You're right. You'd think the drunken Spartys wouldn't have done this to their own, but I don't think people that burn couches think much.
October 16th, 2015 at 10:28 AM ^
Is Izzo going to release a statement?
October 16th, 2015 at 10:30 AM ^
He is probably doing this now....
October 16th, 2015 at 10:28 AM ^
OH, THE HUMANITY!!
October 16th, 2015 at 10:28 AM ^
there was a wolverine statue on North Campus. Where is it located?
October 16th, 2015 at 10:32 AM ^
Were you unaware, but not fully unaware???
October 16th, 2015 at 10:44 AM ^
Wait for the press release - it comes out early tomorrow morning.
October 16th, 2015 at 11:07 AM ^
Did you cater a meal for everyone?
October 16th, 2015 at 10:34 AM ^
It's roughly in the area between the EECS building, the Dude, and Lurie/IOE building. As you walk down the staircase/ramp in the area near the fountain/reflecting pool.
October 16th, 2015 at 10:39 AM ^
Why didn't the North Campus engineers booby-trap this thing?
October 16th, 2015 at 10:29 AM ^
October 16th, 2015 at 10:32 AM ^
Ahhhh, the disrespect from little brother!

They really did a job on the statue. I Googled it and apparently this is what it looked like before the tagging job.
October 16th, 2015 at 10:34 AM ^
At least no alligators were harmed in the painting of this statue
October 16th, 2015 at 10:34 AM ^
Surprised they knew we had a North Campus.
October 16th, 2015 at 10:38 AM ^
They probably got lost trying to read a map.

"The only problem I have with WOLVERINE maybe even more than BLOCK M for me, is WOLVERINE gave so much to the ANIMAL KINGDOM and sports and people and our state of Michigan, Michigan fans, Michigan State fans," BEILEIN said. "He's one of the few ANIMALS that transcended all of those things."

To be clear, it's only "retaliation" if we actually did something to provoke the response. We didn't. Stupid people with spray paint did.
