Apparently. That site is their official one.

That is just crazy to me. The next most expensive is UCLA, starting at $67 each. I wonder how much Oregon would be if they played them at home.
August 17th, 2015 at 7:08 PM ^
Even with their recent success, Oregon is no Michigan.

My Rose Bowl tickets were cheeper when I last went to see Michigan

That was 8 years ago, times have changed my man.
August 17th, 2015 at 6:01 PM ^
You picked a good 8 year stretch to skip going to games though.

How do you know I didn't? You might be my friend that refuses to tell me his MGoBlog handle.

I snagged them too. It was $175 for standing room only for me, face value. Just incredible. I already have the rest of the trip booked and recoup'ed some funds from that, so I said fuck it let's go.
August 17th, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
$175 for standing room only? That is insane. Safe to say that Utah is pumped for this game?
August 17th, 2015 at 1:38 PM ^
so when you consider that this is one of their biggest home games ever and there's a mass of Michigan fans descending on SLC, I don't think it's a stretch to think this might be the most in-demand ticket Utah has ever sold

At this point, the cheapest tickets are north of $200 a piece. $95 is a steal

Speak for yourselves, but I consider it to be money damn well spent.
A small stadium, at elevation, on a summer evening, with two teams slated to compete in their respective conferences and arguably the most exciting hire in college football in the past few decades on one sideline.
This may be the most fun sporting event I've gone to in years.
August 17th, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
Provided that it doesn't resemble anything close to how last year's game turned out.

I've been to SLC a couple times and it's a very nice city. Very clean and lots of good places to eat. Should be warm during the day, but great at night. The mountains add a nice backdrop too. Go Blue on Sept. 3rd!

But most people who are willing to travel to SLC won't care to bet on the market moving that way.
August 17th, 2015 at 1:28 PM ^
I had the rest of the trip booked and I didn't really feel comfortable going to a tiny stadium without tickets.
August 17th, 2015 at 1:32 PM ^
and hoping you Wolverines that are there make a hell of a racket on our behalf. Go Blue!!!

I am flying to Salt Lake City for the game, and still have not bought any tickets. If the cheapest I can get is $175 once I get out there, I'm watching on TV.
August 17th, 2015 at 3:15 PM ^
You could get tickets to all of their other 6 home games for a total of $267. Methinks the stadium will be awash in maize and blue

The Utah Alum I bought my tickets from said he had "crazy demand" and had gotten five inquiries about his tickets the same day listing them (yesterday) before I said I would take them, for sure. So we PayPal-ed it and while on the phone he asked if I was a Michigan fan or Utah fan and I balked (thought my email address includes "TheVictors" as a dead giveaway) ...but admitted to being a MICHIGAN Alum.
He said the section would be filled RED and Utah fans were fired up but that he could pay for his entire season and then some by scalping and was going to be out of town for Labor Day weekend.
Three other ticket sellers I was talking to all sold their tickets day of listing (Saturday or yesterday) and in one case, I was asked if I wanted to increase my bid because the seller had gotten more interest than expected.
A few other sellers explicitly say in their Ad that they won't sell to MICHIGAN fans (which I completely respect), but I get the sense that the almighty $$$ is winning out and there will be a LOT of Maize & Blue in Eccles on Sept 3rd.

...to get more than about 3500 visiting fans into RES (Rice-Eccles Stadium).
Utah ony allocates 2500 tickets for visiting schools.
Utah season tickets are sold out at 99% (about 35,000) and the student section allocation is about 8,000. That fills the stadium.
Yes, Utah fans are very excited about this opener (which is why standing room onlys were going at $175). A worthy name program in Michigan is something to be excited about, but I can tell you we're just pumped for our team this year.
It's not the highest priced Utah football ticket I've seen. Ticket sales for Utah's game with TCU in 2010 were nuts....like couldn't find a ticket for under $300. Oregon ticket prices last year were probably the highest of the season, with lowest tickets on secondary market going around $130. Interestingly, the all-time RES attendance record was set last year during the USC game (it was a cheaper ticket though). I expect the Michigan opener to set the new RES attendance record. The most fans I've seen an opposing team bring into RES was vs. Oregon last year and between the visitor section and those who were dispersed throughout the stadium, I'd guess about 3500 at the top end.
Actually, the most visiting fans that I've EVER seen in RES were those F-ers from Boise State in 2005, they maybe brought about 6-7k, but that was just after Utah's first BCS busting year and season ticket sales still weren't selling out.
I welcome as many Michigan fans as can make it to SLC. It's a great place, our stadium is in a beautiful setting and it should be a great college football experience. I sure enjoyed my last trip out to Ann Arbor in 2008.

Some of those season tickets were likely bought by Michigan fans. I know at least one poster here said that's what he did to make sure he had tickets to the game.
August 17th, 2015 at 5:23 PM ^
Yeah, what they do with the couple hundred leftovers is sell them as mini-season ticket packages, and there's usually two or three different options so not all options would have included the Michigan game.
Utah fans need/want a bigger stadium. Nothing dramatic...we'd be happy to just close the south end zone and add about 10k seats.
August 17th, 2015 at 6:18 PM ^
That was the old Nebraska M.O. for away games --- buy Vandy season tickets for just the one game and pay less than scalpers were charging.
I have been to RES and it is a beautiful setting, second only to Folsom Field in Boulder, IMO, but a great environment. I think that there are some Utah fans reluctantly selling because it's Labor Day weekend and might not be otherwise. Same thing has happened in past seasons at other schools with Thanksgiving Break and games played that weekend - students sell because they're going home anyways.
Personally I can't wait and from the Utah Alumni/fans I know, expect a nice crowd and an electric atmosphere.

I hate Utah.
August 17th, 2015 at 4:12 PM ^
This is just Utah people being opportunistic. You should really blame Michigan fans for having a ton of money and enough blind loyalty that they're willing to pay 5x face value to attend a game most locals in Utah don't actually care about.
August 17th, 2015 at 5:14 PM ^
Most of those tix on the secondary market will get consumed by local Utah fans who can't get season tickets.
