Or when he had a coordinator who would throw everything at a guy who when trying to figure out an obscenely complex play that should take 5-6 seconds to make the reads, has only 2.3 before he has the entire defense laying him out.  Most of the time last year he looked like a guy who was completely shell shocked.  And when he would make the play & put the ball on the money, Funchess dropped the ball.

DG had a steep learning curve to become a NFL QB.  He didn't get the coaching he needed and the WR stint may have held him back a little.

Seeing him play in that 2013 Ohio game convinced me he WAS a LEADER.  I just wish he had the proper coaching he needed to be as good a QB as he was a leader.  I'd even consider keeping him at QB in the CFL and just teaching him in a stable environment where he didn't have to worry about things like getting killed every time he drops back.

I feel sorry for him if he won't have the opportunity to fulfill his life-long dream of a professional football career, but the odds may be stacked agaiinst him -- maybe due to poor coaching; maybe due to injuries; maybe due to circumstances beyond his control, like other more talented players on the roster or the team's needs.

But if a picture's worth a thousand words, then any potential employer of Devin Gardner may not need to look any further than this photo to understand the young man's character and the likelihood that he will succeed.

This is surprising.  Even though Gardner won't ever be a full-time QB in the NFL, I feel like he's athletic and big enough for teams to find a spot on the roster for him, whether it be at receiver or even just a wildcat QB.

Rumor has it Devin showed up to camp with Integrity. This was deemed unacceptable by the Bilk.

Best of luck to Devin, and i hope he makes it to a team worthy of his talents and his character

It's that integrity in pro sports is a completely nebulous thing. No one truly has integrity it's the highest level everyone is looking for an edge in some way or another. When people try to add morality into sports it's nonsense it's a business and false moral narratives have no place in it. There's no winning the right way in pro sports there's just winning or losing. Anything outside of that is just bullshit being sold to you.

Hopefully he gets another opportunity. I think he has the physical talent to make it in the league. Probably the biggest issue is whether a team will be willing to take on a project.
