Adidas or Under Armour?
let's say that Nike is off the table and the choice is either staying with adidas for a shit ton of money or going with under armour.
I say stay with adidas. Michigan would be THE adidas school and be making the most money in the nation on the deal. now this is only a hypothetical scenario of Nike not being an option.

The exclusive deal they have or had with Walmart would be great for rival fans. Not to mention this is horrible.

Apex One or GTFO.
If that's the choice, from everything I've heard from athletes across all sports...Under Armour.
I've admittedly never heard from hockey, but from football, basketball, baseball, combat sports, Under Armour is far better than Adidas, let alone Reebok, which is generally considered as a soccer and/or crossfit brand at this point (Adidas owns Reebok, sooooo...).
I might be reading this wrong, but are you saying that Reebok is both a soccer and cross fit brand? Or are you saying Reebok is a soccer brand because they are owned by Adidas?
I think Reebok stopped making soccer shoes in the mid to late 2000s. I don't think they sponsor a single professional club anymore. The last major club that has Reebok was Bolton Wanderers and they have been relegated from the EPL for several years.
Doesnt Nike own Bauer or something?
Or we could just do Nike for everything but Hockey...is that an option? lol
I think they used to or still own a part of the brand. If you look at Nike teams like MSU and PSU, Nike makes the jersey and they use Bauer for the equipment.
Nike sold Bauer in 2008 to a private equity firm from Montreal.
New Balance.
Jokes aside, Warrior Sports is based in Warren, MI and owned by New Balance. They're famous for lacrosse and hockey equipment, but they also sponsor Liverpool and I know they at least make Brother Rice's football jerseys.
I don't know why something like this isn't an option. Choosing a smallish company that actually manufacturers their gear in the US would be a massive PR coup for Michigan. It could start a national conversation about child labor and sweatshops used by the big players to manufacture clothing and shoes.
Hell, if the company is small enough, the AD could just buy a big piece of it.

New Balance is actually an interesting company, they make their shoes in the US and have for like 75 years. They are a key player in the TPP debate. Also, their new fresh foam tech is awesome for runners.
NB are not all made in the U.S. Only about 25% of their shoes are manufactured in the U.S. And a portion of the components used in the shoes made in this country are actually imported from other countries.
I was shopping on their website a while back, and they offered shoes made in the US with US materials, and shoes made in the US with imported materials, in addition to their foreign made stuff.
Of course the domestically made shoes were more expensive, but they are very well made and comfortable. And you can feel good about yourself when you're wearing them.
Under Armour, solely because I hate the generic bball unis Adidas puts out for all its schools and frankly all their designs are just shoddy. I don't wear Under Armour very often (or at all) but I'm down for a change (barring change is not a Maryland level atrocity, but a respectful nudge like Northwestern or Auburn).
Under Armor has Steph Curry, and passed Adidas for second in market share last year.

Oh, well disregard that post then.
I'm not a pro sports person so I just went with what I have actually walked past in stores.
Few tweaks to the color and that could look maize and blue.

I think those are pretty sweet.
Under Armor also has Jordan Spieth. Helloooooo golf team.
I'd be a heck of a lot more concerned about the coach, the academics, the campus, he'll almost everything except dorm food.

And Notre Dame.

Actually, I think this has to do with adidas new re-coloring of their version of Maize that some of the 2015 line has.
The 2015 polo sports actual Maize. The mass movement in jerseys by MDen could be an effort to get the stuff with the highlighter Maize out so they can make room for the new adidas Maize gear.
I'm gonna email them or call them about this tomorrow.
Here is the polo I'm referring to with some other gear.
They are calling it "The MDen Jersey Event." We'll see, but my bet is that they have good indication that their current jerseys will soon have scrap value as all demand will be for a new supplier's gear. Again - just looking at the tea leaves. I look for you, young man, to do some deeper reconnaissance tomorrow and report back on your findings. No potential evidence should go unturned. Godspeed.
