4* WR Desmond Fitzpatrick's Announcement (No Commitment to Michigan)
So earlier today there was a thread entitled "BUCKLE UP!" with an embed of a tweet from 4* WR Desmond Fitzpatrick saying he had an announcement tonight at 8 PM. Fitzpatrick is currently committed to Louisville and many thought this might be him switching his commitment to Michigan.
This is his announcement:

Normally this wouldn't be board worthy in itself, but I figured since some people were expecting a commitment this is the best way to spread the news that he hasn't committed.

I'm not thinking this is the announcement he meant...
He tweeted it exactly at 8PM. This was definitely the announcement. He's having some fun with fans right now.
You're right. My optimism got the best of me. Downvoting myself for this mess...

Any chance that he is just proud of his father?
Then he would have just tweeted it. Why say I'm going to make an announcement at 8 about something like that?
He's a three star whose offer list is us, Cincy, Louisville, some dreg P5 programs and MAC schools. Probably everyone, including him, is making a bit too big of a deal of his recruitment.
My fiancee and I are looking for a house and recently checked out this beautiful home for sale on a golf course. In the basement, there was a white board hanging on the wall with a bunch of "goals" that seemed football releated, including "Earn Michigan State and 10 other offers." I got curious so I reverse looked-up the previous owner, who turned out to be Greg Fitzpatrick, Desmond's father. Just found it interesting that he didn't have Michigan listed as one of his goals.
He's just testing our sense of humor.
since I found this gif

Proof you can laugh at disappointment. Big disappointment.
That's some textbook "cannot unsee" right there
I knew what going to happen and still I was stunned. It's like that 1% of child left in me thought, maybe the 2nd time around things would be different.
Shame.
A 17 year old just trolled a bunch of 27-39 year old men waiting to hear if he'll flip his commitment to another university.
from a 40-something
26-40 year olds.
and at least 1 24 year old

well seeing a certain user who has gotten several comments banned in this thread I would argue 2-70
Finishing dinner. Looks to me like you've got this under control.

Well to be totally honest I was actually finishing up the nap I took after I finished dinner. A bottle of wine with a couple of gin & tonic chasers coupled with a large meal (grilled flank steak, scallops, corn on the cob, asparagus & macaroni salad) equals sleepy.
And now I've got to get ready to go back to work tomorrow after a week off. BOO! But next weekend I'll be back home in Detroit for a conference. Staying Friday night at the Troy Marriot and then Saturday at the MGM.
WD was trolled.
So 19.

Yep Yep. I'd be doing this sort of sh*t hardcore the entire process if I was in their shoes.
But I'm evil.

I think it is a pretty good reminder not to take things too seriously...these are all 17 year olds looking to have a little fun.
Well yes, but at the same time, hundreds of thousands of people are really excited about their respective football teams and follow recruiting very closely. They also pay lots of money to attend games and buy merchandise. It seems to me that mature 17-year-olds should understand that and not troll people just for a laugh. I don't want to hear bullshit about how the NCAA should pay athletes and treat them like employed adults when they do stuff like this. It can't go both ways.
I don't think it is worth getting worked up over, especially considering he may still be a Michigan player in the near future.
Maybe not, but it's still annoying. People were excited for his announcement and expected a commitment. Instead, he disappointed a lot of fans for his own entertainment. I would never allow my son to do that. It's intentionally dishonest and frankly, bullshit.
