Poor Kid man...

This really sucks.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:22 PM ^
Feel terrible for the kid, he hasn't played a snap of competitive football since Fall of 2012, if this is serious he has a lot of ground to make up to come back at all.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:21 PM ^
I feel bad for the kid. He obviously has an issue with the hammies. I was so excited when we flipped him too.

Damn. Get that kid some prolotherapy. Inject that stuff right into his hamstring tendons, and then maybe some regenokine too.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
Prolo is voodoo.
PRP (would not waste the money on regenokine in that is the same darn thing as PRP, just in a "patented" ie more expensive kit/treatment center) has lots of promising research. And would probably guess the orthopods at UM have tried this on Drake already.

EDIT:

Allen Trieu is contradicting this and saying he has confirmed that Harris did not tear his hamstring. I guess we just wait and see.

Very informed sources can confirm that he did NOT tear a hamstring. Careful with rumors and hearsay, people.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:35 PM ^
shit

This really blows. Add me to the "not a doctor but..." club. In my experiences working with HS athletes and endurance athletes as a fitness coach, chronic hamstring strains are one of the hardest injuries to recover from, and never seem to go away completely..
Wish him the best, but this doesn't sound good.

I WILL SHOOT THE MESSENGER IF I DAMN WELL WANT TO.
STUPID, STUPID HAMSTRING.
And what the hell with the name "hamstring"? How dumb is that name? It's like a "funny bone". Give it a real name for God's sake. A REAL MEDICAL NAME.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
Semimembranosus, semitendinosus and the biceps femoris. Apparently hamstring is old english? Something to do with butchers? (Thanks wikipedia!)

Not seeing much if anything around the net confirming this. Hoping for the best.
EDIT: Reports now stating a tweak which is better although I'm not still fully confident in his legs.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:45 PM ^
I feel so badly for this young man. He is from my area, and I went to college with his father. Hopefully things progress, and he is able to recover from this.

Update: when you update, change the title to UPDATE: Drake Harris tweaks hamstring
Then I'll give you your upvote back
March 26th, 2015 at 12:49 PM ^
Hope it's just the tweak but damn man. What is wrong with his hamstring anatomy that makes them such a nuisance.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:51 PM ^
shoot the messenger now, messenger?
Maybe not shoot, but you deserve at least a tar and feathering, no?
March 26th, 2015 at 12:53 PM ^
OP upvoted his own post.

He better get in the gym when he heals and try to strengthen them. Bigger muscles should be harder to tear, right?
March 26th, 2015 at 12:55 PM ^

OP.....you dead
March 26th, 2015 at 12:59 PM ^
I'd give him mine...but then he'd be really slow. And wouldn't be able to jump. Probably not what you're looking for.
March 26th, 2015 at 12:59 PM ^
Guys, I apologize for not confirming this before I posted. I should have waited for the Mods feedback first. I will not make this mistake again. I wish the best of luck to Drake Harris, and hopefully he will be back by fall camp.
who joked about Peppers being out because he thought it was funny. Remember that? Then he was banned and came back as "owl stood by me" because "owl" up voted his post. weirdos.

A tweak is a strain. 3 to 12 week recovery time.
