Detailed Spring Practice #7 Report
I haven't seen this linked to the board yet so please delete if it's already been posted, but here's a great report from the latest spring practice. It's very bullish on Shane being the starter at this point, apparently he had a great outing. OL looking good outside of center right now. Almost exclusively base 3-4 defense. Definitely worth a read.
New coaches, system changes, long practices, coaches experimenting with guys at different positions, and on and on. Lots of evaluation and assessment going on. Not to worry at this point.
waiting for the "morris sucks, speight will start" people to spin this some how.... clowns
You tried to call out trolling, by trolling. Nice.

Isn't Joe Bolden a Sr?
My favorite part is when he said Speight had problems with his accuracy and spelled accuracy wrong. I hope that was on purpose.
He misspelled quite a few names as well. Is it asking for too much for player's names to be spelled correctly from a Michigan writer?
Why not get that surgery done in mid april? That is strange to get it done in the middle of spring ball?

Or you wake up one morning with a toothache...by 10:30AM you can't bite down and your head is throbbing...after a quick rush to the dentist you find out you have an abscess developing from an undiagnosed cavity in a wisdom tooth. They perform surgery and the cavity is so large that you can look thorugh the tooth. (Happened to me in college)
Bro...when I was 18? Not regularly. Do you always call people bro?

If Jim Harbaugh picks him to start for our football team, well then I trust his judgement just a bit more than yours.
If not, well then we don't have to worry about it, do we?

You know, eventually Malzone is going to look down and ask you to stop humping his leg.

No, he's right. I actually hope we figure them out as well. Even our other issues - I hope we figure out at least some of those out too.
Let's just focus on winning the spring game!
otherwise, Harbaugh could be on the hot seat!
If the coaches feel that Shane can be the starter I don't think Rudock is on the team.
So we have two practice assessments posted in this thread. The original sunshine and rainbows one and the Henson drivel. It seems obvious to me the truth lies somewhere in between those two.
What is very disturbing though is the list of injuries provided in the 1st piece, I counted 17 guys absent from full practice, I realize people get banged up, but that is a huge number. And what of the 5 or so players who weren't even at practice? What gives?
Rivals posted a report from a practice observer who side more with Henson when it comes to Shane Morris.

As a parent I know that there are specific rules you agree to to attend these practices. For someone to come in and agree to them then to turn around and post such a write-up for his own blog/rag is piss poor. I'm sure it's a risk that the coaches are aware of in this day and age but it is dispicable nonetheless. I think press has had one or two "in practice" availability sessions and the staff are aware of their presence and run practice accordingly. If you go as a guest of a family member or as a coach/guest and then turn around and write this all up then I hope you are eventually found out and banned from this opportunity.
Regarding his observations - single point perspectives of drills and unit/team unit sessions are fraught with signficant sample size bias.... There are always bumps and bruizes that keep players out of some or all of these sessions at different times and the staff plugs in individuals constantly. Also, there are usually concurrent units/teams running and some often are over in Osterbahn (sp) while a group is in Glick.
In your zeal and desire to support this staff and team and learn about them please don't enable ratfinks.
