OT: Jed York and the gift that keeps on giving

Submitted by FauxMichBro on

On replacing coach Jim Harbaugh: “We’re trying to win a Super Bowl. We haven’t been able to do that. And I think what we’re trying to do is build a team that focuses on our core strengths. I think we got away from that a little bit. I think we tried to do too much and be something that we weren’t. I think you’re gonna see us get back to the basics, get back to letting our players go out and make plays….You look at our offense last year. It wasn’t I think where it should have been. I think we have better talent than what our results showed.”

Does he remember that the 49er's hadn't been to the playoffs for almost a decade before Harbaugh came?  Does he really think 49er's fans are dumb? Does he really believe what he is saying?

Either way, thank you Jed York for being a complete moron and giving us Harbaugh.

My point wasn't that every coach who went from position coach to head coach was successful. But there have been highly successful coaches that were never coordinators. So why is that a criteria for coaches? There have been many coordinators who made terrible head coaches. Why does it matter what position on a staff a coach has had? If he is a good leader and coach, it shouldn't matter. John Harbaugh is a perfect example of that based on his success.

In an NFL Network bio they did on him that when he was with the Giants and they were close, but not yet winning the Super Bowl, the worst thing to do was panic.  He said they had a really good team and were very near their goal.  That wasn't a time to make big changes and he wasn't worried.

Parcells said he felt bad for the teams that struggled to win games, those were the guys that were really screwed and needed to panic.  Hello Niners, welcome to Yorky's Playhouse.

Goodness. Someone buy that man a winged helmet and name something after him. On account of his great contribution to the university. Can we get him an honorary degree?
