Hail & Unite minions have been deployed

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

together, we can unite against Hail & Unite. their youtube video is getting smoked with dislikes. i invite everyone on here with a youtube or gmail account to get on there and leave a comment and dislike the thing.

They have deployed their minions across twitter, most likely the friends and or family of those working on this awful thing. Also, their lackys have began posting (fake) comments on the video to try to drown out the negative responses.

Together, we can do this.

No.  Going to Michigan does not make one a better person and exempt from criticism.  However, some of that crticism is entertaining when you consider the critic.

I don't really care what the students at any other school are doing with their free time. It surprises me that a person who doesn't go to Michigan has gotten so worked up by this project.

Maybe I'm so against it because I'm literally a lifelong Michigan fan (born with a stuffed Wolverine in the hospital crib) and don't want another embarrassing In The Big House fiasco?

Just because I'm not good enough or worthy enough to attend Michigan doesn't mean I'm going to forget who I am and what I am about.

Just because he doesn't go to school there doesn't mean he can't love the school. I've never stepped foot in Ann Arbor (nor the state of Michigan for that matter), but I would still call myself a diehard. Yes, he's extreme about his diehardism, but just because he didn't attend a UM class doesn't mean he should straight cut down the extremities and became a "normal" UM fan. He can't change who he is, and I'm totally fine with that. It's his life to live not ours.

Who is funding these Hail & Unite clowns?

Seriously - everything that I've seen from them indicates that this is clearly not a grassroots movement. Just take a look at their website - professionally produced, with PR-speak that definitely appears not to have been written by a student.

Same thing with their YouTube video - professional production values. Just who is behind this campaign, and where are these H&U people getting their money?

He's just a douchebag self-promoter.  He cares about nothing about what's good for Michigan, he's just using it as a platform to get recognition.

Did Dave Brandon have a college-age son that we didn't know about?

LOL...no, the girls around him were found around campus and were told they could be part of a documentry if they participated. In general, girls like their picture taken, even if it's hanging around a douche. They're not even parties, all totally staged. The only pictures you will find of him at parties are the ones where he has penis drawings on his face or someone peeing on his leg in the background.  These backgrounds and situations are obviously staged. He's the type of guy that you tell everyone not to invite to your party and if he does show, you are either 1.) finding a way to get rid of him or 2.) finding a way to humiliate him as part of your entertainment factor for the evening.

This is the same type of runt that is will follow around an alpha male all night at the bar and try to pick up his scraps. Then when he fails miserably (which is often),  sit at the bar, get sloppy drunk, call all women bitches because the super model he was trying to pick up earlier saw right through to his Napoleon Complex issues.

This sums up this guy's life in a nutshell.

but that is really a real person doing this...right? Jersy Shore comes to Ann Arbor.

Adam man, I'm all in for you having a good time and being whoever you want to be my friend....Dog knows I cut a wide swath through UM and exited with a degree and a two year cumulative hangover, but the stuff you are trying to push here really isn't something that will be good for M or anyone/anything connected to it. The youtube post is currently getting voted down about 5:1....that should tell you something.

When I went to M we had a very similar kind of thing where some students I knew from the dorm were trying to push M to adopt a new mascot.....called Willy the Wolverine....and they spent endless hours trying to promote it and get people on board and I witnessed first hand their frustration in wondering why everyone wasn't on the same page as them. It went on for two+ years and was somewhat contentious and in the end it was just very clear that while these few students wanted this to happen...mostly for themselves and their own vanity's sake, that the vast majority of students, fans, alumnae simply hated the idea and shat on it every time they tried a new avenue by which to introduce it.

As it becomes more clear that you are in a clear minority of people that wants this to move forward and that there are infinitely more people that are vehemently opposed to it....trust me when I say that the milllion or so people that will be most (may parents met while at UM, my bother and sister also went to M, I grew up literally swimming in alumnae and fan freinds of Michigan and am now 47 years old) vehemently opposed to this haven't even heard about it yet....so if you don't have the groundswell of support you want right now, there is not going to be fertile soil in which to plant this anywhere you haven't looked yet.

No one is trying to "break you bro", but at some point you need to ask yourself....do you want this for you and your ego, or because it is something that will benefit M? If the vast preponderence of people that are reponding to this whole thing are telling you that they don't like it and think it is bad for the image of the university, you need to listen. Otherwise, you kind of become an asshole...right? You become someone that would push something through to the detriment of the university only to satisfy yourself and your ego and to puff up your own image.

Is that what you want to be?

... but I feel the need to explain Latin suffixes on words starting in "alumn__." Alumnae, as you used it, refers specifically to females in the plural. This would be proper when discussing former sorority members who have graduated from Michigan, for example, but not for all such people. You were looking for "alumni," which is used either for all-male or mixed groups. "Alumnus" is male singular, and "alumna" is female singular.

comment from a minion who is most likely Adam Weiss, or his mom, or his friend, or a yes man on the project, or Dave Brandon or Lochdawggg.

People! Get your facts straight before you begin to cry bloody murder! Hail and Unite is not, I repeat, NOT a plan to replace The Victors! This is a terrible misconception that has gone out of hand. It is simply a new song, collaborating groups on campus such as the one I am currently in with UMich performing arts alumni, that would be played for pep and hype at sporting events and such. NO MORE! It saddens me that this misconception has gone around! Look at this video, it's sweet, so hype! This project has so much potential to be fun and give some great groups on campus the chance to showcase their talents and unite all Wolverines in a great, uniquely UMich song! Go to the website yourself and see!

Besides, do you really really think that anybody would be dumb enough to even suggest replacing The Victors??

I guess I just don't get what these people think they're going to do with this. Is the Athletic Department all of the sudden going to assume their song and start playing it? THis has absolutely no official sanction from anyone. They think just because they're going to produce this stupid song no one wants, that no one asked for, that it's going to be taken up as a serious venture by the people hitting the button. And as little faith as I have in Special K, I just don't see this as being in the equation--as bad as his taste is.

I find these AW pictures to be mesmerizing in a Kardashian/muzak/car-accident/carny kind of way.  This fact scares me. "Hail and Unite", if actually produced, will, I predict, exceed all our expectations for the nadir of western pop culture.  No, Im not kidding.  Only upside? It cant get any worse.....

You appoint yourself (be for real, this is not organic, not a grass roots thing) to make some kind of rallying song to rival to raise the spirits of the community or student body or whatever it is that you have been trying to do and you have never even been in Michigan Stadium in the 3+ years you have been on campus?
