Wiltfong says Pickard Decision "Soon"

Submitted by alum96 on

With how UM was his dream school apparently I actually thought DE/TE Wiscy commit Pickard would be the first to fall this weekend.  But it sounds like we will have an answer very soon.  It would seem to bode well.

A final decision likely coming soon for DE Jake Pickard following this weekend's official to #Michigan: http://t.co/eLGdEQbjx3 @TremendousUM

Plenty of depth guys in the trenches.  DE/OL/TE/FB (possibly).  Sounds like skill positions will be more heavily addressed next year, QBs addressed this year, and likely next as well.

is that all of the analysis that shows that 5* are more likely to be NFL players/ better college players use the revised end ranking of the recruit. When guys like Pickard get offers from "elite" schools (of which, I'd argue Michigan is one) they usually get a star bumping. Similary, if guys don't get certain other offers, they drop.

So Jake Pickard is a generic 3* guy on 247 right now. If he picks Michigan, I'd guess he moves to a high 3*, maybe even 4* simply because he recieved a Michigan offer.

Guys like Harbaugh in essense make the market, by which recruits are judged.

harbaugh's eye over most coaches. forget the stars we have been getting top 10 classes for years and have not been good. Mostly coaching you could say, but what about evaluating and getting YOUR guy no matter what the "stars". in my opinion harbaugh can evaluate so i think anyone with an offer at this point isn't just to fill spots. If he offered these guys then he and I want em

I wrote Jr. off weeks ago, and there's no concrete indication whatsoever that his dad's presence on the staff has changed things in Michigan's direction. Even the normally optimistic Sam Webb has been consistently wait-and-see about Jr. Given Sam's close relationship with Tyrone Sr., that says to me that it ain't happening.
