Replies to Feldman's tweet are stating the Durkin is currently on campus. Anyone know if that's true?

He has also been Stanfords recruiting coordinator since Harbaugh got there until he was DC. Would be interesting if he and Durkin were co-DCs though it seems a bit of a demotion for both. Could work out to be Anderson handles DL and DC, Durkin handles STs and DC, Mattison handles LB and is assistant head coach and Greg Jackson for DB. That's a lot of recruiting power and experience on defense but it seems like an unlikely scenario considering both Durkin and Anderson were solo DCs at previous jobs. Then again, so was Ash at Wisconsin.

if Durkin is going to be here. He'll be at best co-DC. That's a step down from being a DC.Something is amiss.

But there might be some internal problems at Stanford for Anderson that may mean he is looking to leave. Pure conjecture on my part, but this seems odd.

A little different situation though. Those two coaches have not been DCs and chose to stay at a school they feel comfortable with. This situation would involve a coach moving from being the sole DC to another school where he would be sharing DC duties.

Working with Harbaugh is something these guys enjoy and is good for careers.
They may be getting raises, even with less responsibility.

None of these guys need to polish a resume, Every one of them is viewed as elite. Assuming the money is right, they get to collaorate with the very best. They get to push each other and stretch each other and create a coaching environment where each of them is surrounded by an unmatched, perhaps unmatchable, level of talent, creativity, and experience. This at an institution which can commit unmatcahed resources. Literally a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I can see how none of them would view this as a step down.

Your logic is flawed...it's not like co = less.
Greg Mattison was at co-DC at Florida...do you know who the other guy was? Charlie Strong.
Both ended up just fine.

Jim Harbaugh has a prolific coaching tree. Coaching under Harbaugh at Michigan will give assistants much better visibility in the profession (college and NFL) than working under other head coaches. Five former assistants are already HC - David Shaw, Scott Shafer, Willie Taggart, Brian Polian, and Derek Mason.

I believe from Steve Lorenz that said Manning would stay as a defensive backs coach...

And if Manning stays...he's either a RB or a CB coach. There really is no other option.
Anderson, Mattison and Durkin are all DL/LB coaches.
I've split them up 3 ways below, you can't split them up any more than that.
Having Manning coach the CBs is not a bad thing.
#1 They were WAY better that they were the year before
#2 It was his very first year...I'd expect him to be better this year like the majority of people on this planet their 2nd year into a new job.
#3 He'll have 3 DC's on the staff on his side of the ball
#4 He's got a ton of talent coming back
#5 Some of last year's struggles were a product of things other than CBs not being in position
...also, he could flow right into a spot as the OLB/DE coach or ILB coach as soon as Mattison retires. That would be a perfect transition in a couple years.

i guess i was watching different games. lewis was a pleasant surprise, but i expected a lot more out of countess, stribling and taylor, who all seemed to regress. even w/o peppers, that unit should have been much better.
