CC: 49ers Presser Live Feed 4:40 EST: What Will Harbaugh Say?
This is Harbaugh's first press conference since "The Offer". Do leaders still eat last? I think they do. My guess...
"We have two games to go with a goal to finish 9-7. There is a lot of work to do and I'll consider my future when the work is done."
What's your guess? Does he send secret non-verbal messages to calm the Michigan faithful's nerves?

It does look like a navy blue t-shirt of some kind. How awesome it would be if he just quietly took off his 49ers sweatshirt half way through and slung it across a chair and just kept going with a big MICHIGAN across his chest.

"As you know I only talk about the job that I have" Yesss perfect response
but then when asked about coaching out his contract he says "yeah" nooooo what does this mean?
He did cough when he said "yeah" anyone else notice that did you?!

They asked him about Michigan, he waved it off and said he'll only talk about the 49ers.

I mean there are many ways to interpret that but argh this is torture
December 18th, 2014 at 4:55 PM ^
Well, he didn't deny anything. Good news?
December 18th, 2014 at 4:55 PM ^
nice job jim. keep your focus.
although it would have been epic if he had answered the running back question with "green and johnson will be healed by september and we will be fine".

That evasive answer/non-answer made me giggle. Trying SO hard not to get my hopes up, but, dang.

Did I hear that right? A reporter asked him whether it was still his intention to finish out his contract, and he replied "yeah." His contract runs though the end of the 2015-16 season.
December 18th, 2014 at 5:00 PM ^
I didn't hear a yes. I heard "finish it till the end", which could be when he leaves for AA or goes to another NFL team in less than 2 weeks.
Or maybe I'm hearing what I want to hear...

Since he's a professional, of course that's his goal to honor a professional agreement. It'd be very frowned upon to say that he does not intend to follow through with a commitment, and it is largely assumed anyway that the 49ers front office will force him out anyway.

asked about his affinity to Michigan, he responded:
"I don't really want to talk about it. I want to talk about the job I have, not about every body else's process." (not quite verbatim)

Yeah, it's over already.

Did you see the body language? So much body language.
But in all seriousness, he's not comfortable there. He's just going through the motions.
Come Home, Jim!

Yeah, I can't see him there after this season. I just hope SF dosen't make a preemptive move and trade him so they can get compensation. If he goes to Oakland via trade I'm sure they will greet him at the door with a major contract extension. If that's how a transaction like that works. Good business says to take in all offers and decide which one would be the most beneficial. Some people listen to their heart as well, to me Harbaughs is an enigma. I'm ready for some good news for a change.

Seriously, those reporters ask the most stupid and incoherent questions.
I did see something different when they asked him about finishing up his contract. He hesitated quite a bit and was really vague at answering.
Other than that everything went pretty much as expected.
December 18th, 2014 at 5:16 PM ^
That's how I saw that as well. It really seemed to catch him off guard a bit and he had to think about how to maneuver his answer properly.

if you listened very carefully, he was tapping the podium a little -- I replayed it -- it was morse code
