Mouth Throwup for HC - it promises to run an offense with explosive tempo that will leave a bad taste in the mouths of our opponents.

This reminds me of what a former girlfriend once told me. She said she wasn't going to wait around and be my backup plan if the girl I was chasing didn't work out.

First time I've ever heard of being fucked with no chick.

So wait, she was your girlfriend . . . while you were chasing another girl?
Which one did you get? Or did you strike out with both of them and get Schiano?

But now the pressure is on for Hackett. If he strikes out on Harbaugh, I'm afraid to find out what a Plan C hire will be. Schiano....ugh.

100% of this seems to be coming from Miles's camp. I'm sure Michigan is sniffing around, but considering how hard Miles has been politicking for the position until this point, this feels like a "you can't fire me, I quit" response.

Because there have been reports here (and other places) that the interest levels between Michigan and Miles are not even, that more talk about Miles going to Michigan has come from his end than from sources at Michigan.
It's well-known that Miles wants to come to Michigan if given the opportunity, and it is equally known that there is a schism at the school surrounding his candidacy. Yes, Les isn't going to come right out and say "I know I'm coaching at LSU, but man would I like to coach at Michigan" because that never happens, but there has been enough smoke and (seemingly) confirmed communications between Michigan/search committee and Miles to make it more than just whatever "secret messages" you are talking about. I don't really care about a tweet from a kid, only that all signs seem to point to Miles being an option with enough issues for certain members of the Michigan establishment that he isn't high on the list.

I'm also removing my name from all consideration for the HC job.
You heard it here first.

Shit. You were the very last candidate between UM and Schiano.

That Harbaugh is heading for Michigan. This way he can say he was never really interested in the job even though he was dieing to coach here. I feel a bit sorry for him since if Harbaugh would have said NO, he had a good chance of fulfilling his Michigan coaching dream!

My thought is that Hackett called him and told him that we're hiring JH. This way Les gets to save face before the official announcement is made.
/happy to get JH, but man I really would have liked to see what Les could do at Michigan

Hackett telling Miles, or anyone outside the coaching search/AD, he is hiring Harbaugh seems unlikely.
December 16th, 2014 at 11:48 AM ^
seems like a class act, and he played with Miles. I think he would tell Les if he wasn't going to be offered the job.
just my $.02

I hope you're right because Plan C (Mullen, Stoops, Mora "Jr"), although somewhat attractive, has not been kickstarted based on anything I've heard. And nobody wants to go to that dark place called Plan D.
December 16th, 2014 at 10:51 AM ^
think Miles is plan B. His statement was off the record and left the door open in my opinion.
December 16th, 2014 at 10:47 AM ^
to demonstrate the way an AD should conduct a search. When this is all said and done in the coming days/weeks, I believe we will be singing Hackett's praises.

will tell him to give Harbaugh until first week of Jan before chnaging lanes to the next candidate for myriad reasons already discussed on the board. No need to rush it - more important to get this next HC hire right.
