Video of Tonight's MBB Open Practice
Oh, how great it felt to be back in Crisler! They ended the basketball open practice tonight with a five-minute scrimmage. The situation is that the game is tied 70-70. Here’s a video I shot of that scrimmage.

So Caris LeVert is still good at basketball. That's good to know.
Honestly - I think this year is a slight step back for us. Not enough seasoned talent. Next year, however, should be back to Final Four level, even if we lose LeVert.

Was just thinking the same thing while watching. We are going to get torn apart down low.

Over the PA is awesome.
EDIT: "I can do whatever I want with the clock" - John Beilein

Hell yes it is! So cool to hear him simulataneously do narrative and discuss strategy and give pointers. That's coaching.

Thanks - Walton looks like a force to be reckoned with.

You can just tell, can't you? Michigan basketball just reloads, man. We'll be just fine this season.

Thanks for posting! I was so sad to miss this tonight. Looking forward to the first game!

I feel like this will be Beilein's most three heavy team yet, and I don't think that is a bad thing. When you have as many shooters as we do you might as well take advantage of it.

I'm a student who was at the open practice.
Worth noting that Donnal was absolutely horrible. Was getting destroyed down low the entire time and missing layups all over the place, to the point where Beilein sent him to run up and down the Crisler stairs to try and get him concentrated again. Was really concerning.

Let's hope DJ Wilson is one great defender because Donnal looked .... challenged. That's a freshman he is playing.

Give the kid a break! He is a freshman and the season hasn't even started yet. He will get better.
