I really hope we score early and often.

I place a lot of condidence in his prediction?

A brilliant guy who had Michigan going 6-6 in 2011 and going to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
So. accurate.

OK then. Crossing No. 1 off list below.
TOP CURRENT WORRIES
1. Uncomfortable win over App St.
2. Ebola outbreak
3. Middle East ablaze with violence
4. My parents are getting old and frail
5. Bears

are you more concerned over bears than bear traps?

As a minor note to the OP, generally the content of the original post should be a little meatier, if you will, than this. At the very least, some numbers from his projection would have been sufficient, I would think. We try to avoid the one sentence threads whenever possible, and they will be frowned on after tomorrow anyway as we tighten the content standards a bit as well.
As for the Appalachian State game, Massey's preseason model (so, take it as you will), predicts a 98% win probability for Michigan and a median projected score of 41-10, which puts it basically in line with with Vegas right now.

the data he assembles on each team is really great to have in one place. As for his predictions, he's not nearly as accurate as he claims he is, and his predictions are the least worthwhile reason to pay attention to him.

normally not a fan of running up the score on cupcakes...
but this game I don't think we should hold back....a 70-3 win would be awesome

But I want the shutout.

Steele has Michigan playing LSU in the Gator/Tax Slayer Bowl
He also had ohio in the 4 team playoff
I remember when his magazine was $6.95. I think it's $12.95 now.

We did not under perform in 2012. We lost to 5 teams ranked in the Top 8, including the 2 teams playing for the championship. We lost our most valuable player and 3 year starting QB. And we lost our best corner before the bowl game to a suspension. We were overmatched once that season, by the eventual national champion, in our first game of the season.
August 24th, 2014 at 1:47 PM ^
2012 was a push a best. All we proved in 2012 was that we could lose to good teams. We did not beat any teams that were particulary good, and a couple of those games were extremely close (MSU, NW).
If you gave a vintage Michigan team 5 chances to get a win against a Top 10 team, you expect them to win at least 1 or 2 of those. We went 0 - 5. I have a lot of respect of the guys on that team, but that was not a vintage Michigan season by a long stretch.

Navy is only a 13 point dawg as of right now against OSU. I expect that to be around 10 points by kickoff.

UM is gonna roll that OOC schedule. I don't think Hoke is the type of guy to run up the score, but I'd love it if they blew App St. out of the stadium by 30 at halftime.

We can't run ourselves silly against an inferior team one week before ND in South Bend. I trust in our coaches to control the game, win by 35-45, and rotate some of the true froshes into the second half. I hope this game will serve as a way of getting in meaningful reps, and fine tuning what's off pitch.
If Norfleet scores on a return, is anyone willing to buy me a drink or three the next time I pass through Ann Arbor? You heard it here first, y'all.
Disclaimer: I live many thousands of miles from Ann Arbor, and don't foresee passing through anytime soon in this lifetime. So, welcome all comers.

I get that 2014 App State is probably not as good as the 2007 team. However, isn't the same true for us?
August 24th, 2014 at 2:21 PM ^
UM certainly isn't getting the media hype like they were for 2007, but I think it's a bit early to say this years team isn't as good or better. They have the talent to be better. I hope they are.
