and well-deserved. Am hoping for the shocker that he stays to catch a lottery pick in 2015, but am ready to say a heartfelt thanks and wish him the best in the NBA.

It was great watching him shoot and be surprised when it didn't go down. He should have a spot in the NBA for a long time. There's always a place for shooters.
That clinches his place as a consensus second-team All-American for 2013-14. He's the first Wolverine with that honor in 20 years. Here's the full list:
- Cazzie Russell - 1964
- Bill Buntin - 1965
- Henry Wilmore - 1972
- Campy Russell - 1974
- Phil Hubbard - 1977
- Glen Rice - 1989
- Rumeal Robinson - 1990
- Jalen Rose - 1994
- Nik Stauskas - 2014
That is not a bad list of names at all.
Congratulations to Nik on another honor! I had thought that the other day he made the Lute Olson All-America Team as well, but I might have missed any thread on it due to the Tournament activity here. Still, the list of honors is long and well-deserved for Stauskas.
Here's an updated list of Stauskas's honors (including the Lute Olson nod) from the U-M press release announcing his latest All-American selections:

Wait....who didn't put Burke on their team last year?
That's the list of consensus second-team All-Americans. Burke was consensus first-team.
Gotcha. Though "consensus 2nd-team" seems like a weird honor.
The consensus All-American teams—both first and second teams—are legit enough to be listed in both the official NCAA basketball record book and Michigan's record book. That's why I've been reporting on them.
The AP actually names three teams (see this); Harris and Payne got only honorable mention (although someone voted Payne first team).
Stauskas was the only Big Ten player to be named first-, second-, or third-team All-American by one of the four major organizations (AP, USBWA, NABC, and Sporting News) used by the NCAA to determine the "official" consensus All-Americans. See this Wikipedia article for a full rundown.
That is a Detroit Free Press link for those who don't want to go there.
I hadn't heard that. I'm surprised Izzo didn't mention it during press conferences.
I don't know what else he has to do to get 1st team from all media sources.
Stauskas was also named one of the ten members of the Wooden Award All-American team today.
This is the second year in a row that Beilein has churned out a 3* to All American product with only two years of development. Not only is this a testament to our coaching staff's talent evaluation and coaching, but to the culture that is being bred at Michigan. Coaching only goes so far - Nick worked his tail off to get where he is today. Congratulations!
Stauskas was actually a 4-star...he wasn't top 50 so still a bit under the radar but a little more heralded than Burke was out of high school. Your point is still valid
higher rated than Trey for sure--but 50+ to 90 overall. A couple of 4 stars, but mostly 3 stars.
The job Beilein has done here, especially the last 2 seasons has been absolutely phenomenal. Really fun program to watch.
What makes this more special is that HE'S NOT EVEN AMERICAN
Who's on your NCAA All Canada team?
Off the top of my head I've got
Tyler Ennis
Nik Stauskas
Melvin Ejim
Andrew Wiggins
....Sim Buhllar!?
Bench: Brady Heslip and Kevin Pangos
Not bad at all
That team might actually be able to take down the All- "America" team (remember, Embiid is Cameroonian).
Russ Smith
Marcus Smart
Jabari Parker
Doug McDermott
Julius Randle.
Would be a very good game, to say the least
I hope all of his hard work and great play puts more $$$ in his pocket when he is a high draft pick this year.
Great year for Nik, for sure. Really had an incredible year. Glad he's repping our program too.
