Michigan - Michigan State: Open Thread
Another must win game for the Wolverines, welcoming State to Yost. Michigan's senior class can improve to 5-0-0 at Yost against the Spartans with a win. The game is on Comcast 900.

Nice!
Our women just do not seem to grasp the concept that if it's not there, it's not there.
2-3--5 line for Guptill since Red benched him.
I'm sure she's tired, but Goree has completely let herself be taken out of this game.
Overall, not enough horses, not making any plays down the stretch, and more terrrrrrrible passing.
In dire need of a stop on defense...
Goree has utterly collapsed in the second half. Maybe she's cramping again, but she's completely turtled here.
Di Giuseppe scores. It's 4-1.
Good deal. Gonna go with this as the more important game of the night.
...needs more players.
Maybe. Like I said, the team seems a little light on concepts. I'm sure they ran out of steam in the second half, but there also didn't seem to be a whole lot of inspiration in the x's and o's department.
The offense stagnated and Goree - never - not once demanded the ball in the post. She didn't make herself available in the post.
That we ended the game with timeouts in hand, and Barnes-Arico never called a timeout to take our best player aside and tell her she needed to assert herself or the team was going to lose - I'm a little underwhelmed by that display of coaching.
Wow...nice drawn up play there by the women's team. Blech.
Meh. Obviously not a tournament team.
Gritty effort, but I hope Barnes-Arico is bringing more than grit to the table.
Honestly, and this is a shallowly drawn opinion, but nothing about how we play seems particularly well-conceived.
this was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
Yeah, that's fair. Seems like there are some good young players in the pipeline?
Maybe Raoul can tell us what's going on with some of the girls Barnes-Arico signed?
Still, though, I really hope they learn to value the ball a little better. They threw some crazy passes.
Sinelli scores, it's 5-1.
I thought this thread was about the WBB game.
Just lost a heartbreaker by 3 in a game that we lead the entire way.
Pretty much exemplified why most people hate women's basketball. Just a completely different game.
Anyway...Go Blue MIH!!
5-1, third period just started.
Wow that was cool, following the Men's Hockey game and the Women's Basketball game simultaneously. It kind of had an interesting flow to it, like some kind of ultra-sport.
I do think Barnes Arico spends too much time in the Penalty Box for us to make it to the Frozen Dance though.
Sinellli!!!!!! 6-1 U-M!!!!!!
Save some.
Actually, we should have given some of those extra points to the women.
GOAL. SInelli scores. 6-1 game.
MSU is getting chippy after the whiste. Michigan needs to be like Fonzie and stay cool.
There's a serious lack of the "if you can't get into college, go to State" chant. Difference between old Yost and new Yost.
New Yost atmosphere is meh compared to what it once was unfortunately.
I heard it on TV, but it was faint. There is a definite difference between the two Yosts though.
I used to love that song. It's just so effective at getting under their skin. Back in my day ('07-'10) I feel like it happened at least once or twice at every MSU game
That chant was weak and the "Can't Read Can't Write was weak" but "Little Brother" was good. It is spring break. I was surprised we didn't get the alumnit band and still a lot of students were there.
I don't thiey sold as many student hockey tickets this year. More went for basketball tickets.
There was a game somewhere in the mid-00s where I swear we listed every single school in the state (or close to it). At some point we pulled out Concordia.
Michigan leads 6-1. Red puts Dwyer in net.
Luke Dwyer in against State. Red's troll game is epic tonight.

Sinelli!!!!!!! 7-1!!!!!!!
GOAL. GOAL. GOAL.
Three goals for Sinelli.
Hopefully more of the same tomorrow.
isn't the only one scoring bunches of goals---the Red Wing-Devil game has turned into quite a goal-scoring affair. The two teams took turns scoring back-to-back-to-back goals in the 2nd period, which began with the Wings leading 1-0 and ended 5-3 Red Wings .
First career hat trick for Sinelli. First career point for Max Shuart. First regular season appearance for Luke Dwyer.
