Today's Schedule of Games
“They’ll remember what you do in November.” This is a week full of meaningful games across the college football landscape. Michigan is also back in action after the bye, er, improvement week.
Here are some of today’s highlights:
At Noon on CBS: #1 Ohio State at Rutgers. It’s November so we’ll be keeping an eye on Ohio State from here on out. They’re the #1 team, don’t you know? Rutgers is actually pretty decent this year, and Schiano knows how to play defense (except against Michigan). But Rutgers won’t have an answer for Marvin Harrison because NOBODY EVER FREAKING DOUBLE COVERS THAT GUY. It’s like some unwritten rule. OSU will win and stay *snort* #1.
Also at Noon on FOX: #23 Kansas State at #7 Texas. Texas still has the best win by far in college football and they are regrouping after being tripped up by Oklahoma. They will still likely be without injured QB Quinn Ewers. Maalik Murphy – who looked good against BYU – will be taking his place. Kansas State has won 3 straight and is on a roll. The winner stays alive for the Big 12 title race. This is the kind of game where K-State always gets counted out. Guilty. I’m counting them out and picking Texas.
Also at Noon on ESPN: Texas A&M at #10 Ole Miss. Ole Miss is still alive in the SEC West (barely, Alabama has the tie-breaker head-to-head win over them). Texas A&M played Alabama and Tennessee pretty well, losing both by single digits. It should be a competitive close game, but I’ll go with Lane’s guys and Ole Miss in the end.
In the Afternoon at 3:30 PM on FOX: #11 Penn State at Maryland. Hey look! We can scout both of our upcoming opponents in one game. Does the NCAA know about this? If you are Penn State, you are scared to death about this game. You don’t want to be here, your focus is on Michigan. You just want to get it over with. But one of these days Taulia is going to giveth more than he taketh away. If he does, Maryland can get away from Penn State pretty quickly. And they don’t have the offense to catch up. But PSU has enough defense to keep that from happening, and Taulia is still gonna Taulia. Penn State squeaks out a win.
Also at 3:30 PM on CBS: #12 Missouri at #2 Georgia. Missouri is pretty good. But they’re not Georgia-good. And they lost to the only really good team they played – LSU. They’ll hang around for a little while but then Georgia will kick into that extra gear they have when they feel like using it, and dominate Missouri. Thus giving the middle finger to the CFP pollsters that demoted them from #1.
Also at 3:30 PM on ABC: #9 Oklahoma at #22 Oklahoma State. I thought that Bedlam was supposed to be on Rivalry Week? Does nobody care about Big 12 Tradition anymore? Oh, yeah . . . that. This is the last Big 12 Bedlam. You know Oklahoma State wants this bad. Give the Sooners a jilted-lover sendoff they won’t forget. I think they’ll do it, and beat Oklahoma one last time.
In the Evening at 7:30 PM on NBC: Purdue at #3 Michigan. There is nothing to do but win big and break the media narrative that sign scouting was some big game-changing advantage. Even if it supposedly gave us a 3 touchdown advantage per game (a ridiculous assumption), we’re still undefeated even if you dock us those 21 points per game in all of our games. At some point, media, just come out and say you don’t like Harbaugh and are trying to get rid of him, and this is the best excuse you got. Michigan will refuse to cooperate with the narrative, and will win big.
Also at 7:30 PM on ABC: #5 Washington at #20 USC. There will be like 1,000 points scored in this game. By halftime. Washington is the favorite, but USC / Lincoln Riley / Caleb Williams thrive on this type of track-meet game. They will finally get their shit together after a rough October, and outrace the Huskies for the W.
At 7:45 PM on CBS: #14 LSU at #8 Alabama. The Big One in the SEC West. Like USC, LSU can score points. Like USC, LSU gives them right back. That’s not going to work against Alabama and their defense full of 5-stars. Alabama has been inconsistent on offense throughout the season, but Jalen Milroe has been coming on the last few weeks. He’ll keep Alabama in touch with LSU until the Alabama defense takes matters into their own hands in the later stages of the game. Alabama wins and lurks in the SEC for Georgia.
Finally, your Pac-12 After Dark Special - meaningless crazy football just for the fun of it:
At 10:30 PM on FS1: #19 UCLA at Arizona. I’m going to just leave what I put here last week, replacing “Oregon State” with “UCLA”: Arizona may be the most Pac-12 After Dark Special-est of all the Pac12 teams. You don’t ever want to find yourself facing an underdog Arizona, on the road, late at night, in a Pac-12 After Dark Special game. Weird juju happens down there. It will happen again, and Arizona will take out #19 UCLA.

Here's a fancy schmancy schedule link with some nice aesthetically pleasing graphics:

The OP is so long to scroll through each time to comment. And then you always give this link in the first comment.
How about giving a briefer summation in the OP, then providing the bulk of the narrative and list portions beneath the "fancy schmancy link"?
Just a thought. Thank you, and Go Blue!

He's done this for years.
Don't change a goddamn thing
November 4th, 2023 at 2:58 PM ^
Why so hostile/foul?
It's a good suggestion and was delivered with thanks.
Do better.
November 4th, 2023 at 10:55 AM ^
Own the Scarlet Rutger.
November 4th, 2023 at 10:57 AM ^
I wonder how long Rutger’s defense can hold against the Ohio State offense before ultimately collapsing from being on the field so much. Schiano will have a decent approach against them, I bet.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:38 AM ^
I will watch with interest. If it looks like a sound defensive scheme, we can emulate it with far better players.
November 4th, 2023 at 10:58 AM ^
Washington beating Oregon is the best win this year, then OU over Texas.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:04 AM ^
The o/u on the Washington -USC tilt is like 78, meanwhile Iowa - NW o/u is 31. Still think I'd go over in the first and under in the second.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:04 AM ^
damnfullslate...get your britches on. roll em up and smoke em cornhuskers. LSU has an opportunity to re-earn some much coveted brownie points.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:05 AM ^
Thank you M-Dog. One of many things I look forward to on Michigan football Saturdays is reading your posted Schedule of Games and your description of the biggest ones. Hope you and everyone here has a great day.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
Thanks, I appreciate it. It's fun to do because I just sit there and write whatever comes out, stream of conscious style. Like I'm talking to another fan over a beer.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:56 AM ^
Yes indeed. That comes through and I really appreciate and enjoy it.
November 4th, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
Do what you do. We are here for it
November 4th, 2023 at 11:08 AM ^
Rutgers, LSU, K State, and Mizzou..
November 4th, 2023 at 11:42 AM ^
I'm saying there's a chance . . .
November 4th, 2023 at 11:16 AM ^
Another downside of putting our game as a night game. We won’t get to watch Washington/USC and see if both teams go over 200 points and 3,000 total yards.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:19 AM ^
I think UW’s win over Ore is the best win of the season. I’d put money on Ore to beat Texas and Bama. I appreciate UT went to Bama but new OC, new QB, et al for Bama, the game would be different today.
As long as Lanning doesn’t make Frames-like decisions, they’re the best of the 4 teams in this post imo.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:27 AM ^
If Rutgers somehow pulls off a miracle and wins, watch all the threats disappear as Michigan becomes the only viable CFP contender for the league.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:43 AM ^
USC is garbage. They can’t beat a decent team. Caleb Williams is way overrated (name one outstanding NFL QB who’s a me first asshole). Washington is much better than decent. Washington wins.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:04 PM ^
I mean...Aaron Rodgers was a me first asshole and won a bunch. Williams is like a lot of QBs and while I agree he's not this all world talent he's not demonstrably worse than a lot of guys
November 4th, 2023 at 12:27 PM ^
I disagree about Rodgers. He doesn’t pout or do any of the childish BS Williams does regularly. Williams is already talking about trying to control who can draft him and demanding partial ownership of whatever team does. The team that burns a high pick on him is going to regret it.
November 4th, 2023 at 1:28 PM ^
Eli Manning as well, who refused to play for San Diego. Sad to see that behavior rewarded.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
Go Rutger: show them what it's like to live in fear.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:03 PM ^
OSU is going to win but it probably won't be super comfortable for at least a half.
I think either Alabama and Texas lose today and that messes with the playoffs quite a bit.
Zona is going to beat UCLA and it might not be that close.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:07 PM ^
I'm just here to cheer for Rutger
November 4th, 2023 at 12:09 PM ^
A lot of empty seats in EL today
November 4th, 2023 at 12:09 PM ^
Lathan Ransom is out, noooooo. Get well soon!
November 4th, 2023 at 12:10 PM ^
I generally like to watch games all day but just struggling to want to turn any on today.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:12 PM ^
That's not bend but don't break, dumb CBS guy. That's forcing a three and out.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:12 PM ^
3 and out for OSU
November 4th, 2023 at 12:14 PM ^
Oh Rutgers, you are playing the #1 team in the country and your stadium is a quarter empty.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:17 PM ^
Asking Braedon Locke to throw on 4th down didn't work. Shocking. Hoosiers up 7-0 and get the ball at their own 42.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:18 PM ^
This is why you are Rutgers.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:20 PM ^
What were they even trying to do with that weird formation? Not sure but seems like it could have confused the snapper.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:18 PM ^
I love your narrative by the way. One of my favorite things to read. One correction-- UM pounding MSU last week already proved signs don't matter.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:23 PM ^
This is going to be over early for Rutgers. They can't defend the run they can't defend the pass.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:23 PM ^
This whole thing has made it less fun to watch honestly. Especially B1G knowing what they're trying to do.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:25 PM ^
Henderson is going to be a handful. If OSU can run the ball, it's a whole 'nother animal.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:27 PM ^
Not when their quarterback still sucks ass
November 4th, 2023 at 12:34 PM ^
Against Rutger
November 4th, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
Nebraska is making Staee look like a CFP contender.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:31 PM ^
That was a legendary arm punt by Harberg. Had a guy running wide open too, but threw it right to the free safety instead. Fortunately said safety caught it at the 4 and fell.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:34 PM ^
I'm really glad to just watch some football. Sort of interesting games early on. Rooting for Nebraska. Go Rutgers!
Clemson and Notre Dame 🤷🏻♂️
November 4th, 2023 at 12:37 PM ^
That's how you have to defend Ohio State. Put McCord under duress and give him happy feet. He wilts under pressure.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:39 PM ^
I’m not even bothering to watch OSU/Rutgers.
Watching Clemson/Notre Dame. Domers are down 7-3 and they just muffed a punt.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Smart.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:39 PM ^
As you are watching the games today, please remember that every play you see today was either stopped or successful only because someone stole someone else’s signs.
