Donovan Edwards played with injured knee
As the title says Dovovan Edwards played injured:https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/37832729/michigan-donovan-edwards-played-most-last-season-injured
So, if healthy, how many long touchdowns should he have had against OSU exactly?
Can you imagine a healthy Corum in the backfield, and a healthy Edwards in the slot?
You won't have to imagine it. I suspect you'll see it.
imagine Corum, Edward's in the slot and Xavier woods...one can dream...
CJ | The Don | OL | Loveland | Wilson
McCarthy
Corum
^This would be my base offense, swapping Barner for Edwards in situations and Edwards for Corum in situations.
Terror.
Yeah, but to be fair, THEosu was cold, or had a cold, or got a cold sore.
Vet, respectfully… I disagree. It’s the wrong season.
Last year, it was too warm. It was too sunny. The wind was too calm. The crowd was cheering for the Buckeyes too much. It was too loud. They started the game on time. No one on the squad felt under the weather.
I stand corrected.
Or I would if I were feeling more energetic, so I sit corrected.
I'm just here to applaud the use of the subjunctive. What a rare treat.
You prompted me to look up subjunctive. Maybe now me LS&A friends will stop making fun of my writing. (We cleaned that up in the MBA program.)
The subjunctive: a subjective pleasure.
If healthy, we should've scored at least 2TDs against TCU in the opening quarter.
Injury happened second week against Hawaii. Imagine what he will do this year with a healthy hand and knee!
I know he was injured after the Rutgers game. Imagine how good that he will be when healthy.
Oh gosh this is just pouring salt on the wound that is the theOSU game!
This should strike fear into the Buckeyes' defense. Unlike them, I'm excited to see what a 100% healthy Donavan can do!
Still feels surreal that we get back Edwards AND Corum this year. They're both so incredibly good but have very different styles, it's going to be so hard for defenses to prepare for both of them.
Edwards' Ohio State game with one functioning hand and one knee will go down as a legendary performance in Michigan football history
It’s really quite amazing.
Edwards's performance is like Gardner's in the 2013 The Game, only with a happy ending.
The DDOOOONNNNN!
And an oline to protect them!
I think getting him the ball more in space in the slot will be key to this season.
Edwards is a stud played with 2 injuries and still was awesome.
But in other news Taylor Tatum to USC is picking up steam which sucks. A CB by USCs On3 guy was put in today. Hope that is just him being optimistic and no concrete proof TT might be choosing USC. I want him and Marshall to both be Michigans RBs
His last summer visit is at Michigan in 2 weeks… And I wouldn’t be shocked if Jordan Marshall made it a priority to visit at the same time.
I’ll start to worry when more CB’s pop up for other schools after the 23rd.
Edwards is better than Corum. I said what I said.
Edwards has some things Corum might not have but damn, as a pure runner, I take Corum. He has some low, change of direction stuff that, while not Barry Sanders, made me think of BS a couple times last year.
Edwards is a North/South runner, Blake is a multiple cut runner. “Better” is subjective. Guys like Blake and Mike Hart move chains, sustain drives and hardly ever get hit for a loss, guys like Edwards and Wheatley give you home runs.
Yeah I’d take Corum for his ability to consistently pick up chunk yards. Edwards seemed a bit more boom or bust. Gets stuffed or gains a yard or two, but also more likely to take one the distance. You just have to be able to survive being put behind the chains when he doesn’t grind out those yards on early downs.
I would say this Blake is a better Runner as far as vision and ability to see the lanes and stop and go but that isn't saying Blake isn't a good runner either. They both are amazing and if we're strictly the main back they would win the Heisman. Now days having 2 RBs and keeping them healthy and fresh is the way to go. Also their styles compliment each other. Blake reminds me of Gibbs but somewhat as he could play WR full time if he wanted.
You seem to have Blake and Donovan mixed up…
Corum has breakaway speed also. It might take a little time before he shows it again after the surgery but he was a 4.4 4.5 guy. The added weight took a little of his breakaway speed away but he still has enough to pull away or stay ahead of most players.
Tie ...I like them both !
Same. Great compliments to each other. I just think Edwards has an Adrian Peterson-esque ceiling. Corum is great also. Probably a dumb comment by me lol.
AP to me is a bad example as he runs straight up and looked for contact in college and wasn't a good at catching the ball out of backfield nor could AP play WR worth a lick.
Edwards has NFL size and top-end speed in the open field. Corum has excellent vision and elite agility/cutting. I don't think one is definitively better as a whole -- more like different flavors of greatness.
True. They are both great. They both do need to make it through a season in tact though.
Edwards has the breakaway speed on Blake but everyone is acting like Blake is some type of Mike Hart which he isn't even close to except maybe height and weight in college. Mike Hart was slow as hell Blake is so much faster and can breakaway from people for the long score.
Nah. Corum is a monster who consistently made the right decisions while also serving as a bell-cow who was equally effective at short-yardage and long-yardage. Edwards is more of a home-run hitter, maybe, and a better receiver. But he missed a lot of holes and blocks last year -- until OSU, that is.
if that’s true than the entire B1G is fucked because he ran roughshod with 1 knee
I hear he ran behind a somewhat decent O-line
Both our backs get injured last year and still want to come back to play here this year. The Michigan Difference.
To be fair, Edwards didn’t really have a choice. I mean he could have transferred theoretically but why transfer AWAY from the best OL and a top running game?
Yes, and he could split the carries, get less than 1,000 yards and the NFL will just see less mileage.
Couldn't see DE transferring to me that isn't the type of person he is. He was thrilled for Balke to have a great season and as he was talking either rin the OSU game or the Ship he was still mentioning how great Blake was and what it meant to play with a guy like that. Edwards is Maize and Blue till the end
Hence why I said “theoretically he could have.” That was his only option when it came to leaving. So with that in mind it’s no surprise that he’s coming back and the “still want to come back to play here this year,” is much less surprising than in Corum’s case.
The title scared the piss out of me at 1st glance.
What he said.
I find that amazing to play through injuries like that, had shoulder, back, knee, injuries in the past, that always knocked me out for weeks and months.
I slept wrong last night and I’ve had a kink in my back all day. I’ve barely made it off the couch
He outran OSU’s defense on one healthy knee?!
