Hate to see it for the kid. This sure alleviated what would otherwise have been a really awkward situation for Harbaugh to have to deal with every week of the season.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:32 PM ^
Given the injury was 2 months ago, he obviously tried rest and rehab hoping to come back to contribute this year but it wasn't happening. A Michigan champion whether he stays or decides to transfer to start somewhere else. Hopefully once he's recovered enough he's on the sidelines with the team rest of season, I'm sure he'll want to be.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
Nothing is obvious about this situation.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:59 PM ^
I mean, Occam's Razor is that he tried to rehab without surgery because there's always a chance he'd be pressed into service for any number of reasons. But after a couple of months if you aren't recovering properly it's time to take up surgery. It's largely the same path that All took except the timeline was sped up a bit. It's not particularly surprising.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Best of luck, Cade! Heal up as quick as you can! We can't wait to see you back on the sidelines in the Maize and Blue.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
....and on the field!
November 9th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
We're with you Cade!
November 9th, 2022 at 12:47 PM ^
Best wishes. From a purely football perspective it certainly raises the stakes for any knock on JJ to "existential."
November 9th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
Leadership takes many, many, forms.
Most of them off the gridiron.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
I was and still am a big fan of Cade. Even in the difficult situation he found himself in at the start of this season, he behaved in the best interests of the team. I wish him a speedy recovery and I would thoroughly enjoy seeing him play a little more ball for us, but that is too far in the future and who knows.
One thing living out of the local area, I never heard exactly what his injury was, and what this surgery is, anyone care to enlighten me?
November 9th, 2022 at 12:59 PM ^
Brian Griese, Tom Brady, Drew Henson, John Navarre, Denard Robinson, Cade McNamara.
That's very good company.
Get well. Succeed well, wherever that may be.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:00 PM ^
Wish him a quick and full recovery. I hope that shitty "reporter" who claimed McNamara had quit the team and was already gone continued to be big mad that Cade's dad had to set him straight
November 9th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Best of luck to Cade and hope for successful and speedy recovery. Dude is a legend and should never have to pay for a beer again in Ann Arbor or wherever he encounters a Michigan fan.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
Best of luck for a successful procedure and quick healing.
If he does move on from Michigan after this year, he should always be remembered as a Michigan legend. His skill, smarts, poise, and leadership guided us to our best season in 25 years, and he should be looked upon as one of the greats in Michigan lore.
I'd love for him to stay on as a mentor, but best of luck to the man if he moves on.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Good luck, buddy. Heal up quick, and go do great things, here or wherever you may go.
You will always be a Michigan Man, and the beer will always be on me if our paths cross.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Excellent Captain. Best of luck.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Arm? Shoulder? Knee? Left pinky?
November 9th, 2022 at 3:13 PM ^
Yes. All were mixed up with each other - like a gruesome game of body part jenga.
November 9th, 2022 at 5:31 PM ^
Last I heard it was head…..no, shoulders…..knees?…..toes! Knees and toes!
November 9th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to legendary Cade McNamara -- the Wolverine QB who beat Ohio State.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
Nothing but love for this young man. Huge factor in the culture change that led us to 42-27 and a B1G championship. Godspeed Cade. Thank you for all you've done, and Forever, Go Blue
November 9th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
Wishing the Captain a speedy recovery. Look forward to seeing him throwing.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:50 PM ^
Good luck, Cade.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:05 PM ^
Man, sorry to see this but not surprised. He helped save the program with his leadership and tenacity. Wish him nothing but success in his future.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
Hope for the best on Cade's surgery and his future. If he transfers, he will (and rightfully should be) remembered as the man who helped swing the Michigan program right back around. Best of luck.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
Nothing but gratitude and respect for Cade. Speedy recovery and I'll root for him whether he is playing here or somewhere else in the future.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:49 PM ^
Best of luck. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:51 PM ^
If it was my call Cade would have kept the starting job until he got injured. Legendary player. Will always be among my favorite Michigan men, regardless of what his future holds. Get healthy!
November 9th, 2022 at 3:11 PM ^
For the rest of his life he'll be able to say: I led the team to victory against those *uckeyes.
November 9th, 2022 at 3:13 PM ^
He is as responsible for Michigan's success last year as anyone. One cool customer, never let one mistake turn into two, and delivered Michigan a win over OSU, a conference title, and CFP berth. He's earned his place in Michigan Football greatness, and we should all be thankful that he was here. If he decides to transfer, and I wouldn't blame him if he did, I hope he gets the opportunity to start and get looks for the NFL.
To think how much different the trajectory of this program could've been if he was not inserted into that 2020 Rutgers game....
November 9th, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
I live in Reno and got to see him play his senior year of high school. I was so excited he was headed to Michigan. Last year was fun because anybody who knew anything about HS football here in Northern Nevada was a default Michigan fan. I've talked to his HS coaches and the one thing they all say about him is that he loves competition so I know it was tough for him to not be able to get back on the field this year. Get well soon Cade!
November 9th, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
Good luck with surgery Cade and get well soon
November 9th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
I could honestly see him going to Iowa. He just seems like the type of QB that Iowa has thrived with in the past and a little pay back for giving us Rudock.
November 9th, 2022 at 4:28 PM ^
Good luck Cade.
November 9th, 2022 at 4:30 PM ^
Wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. He'll always have a place in Michigan history as a great leader, and the QB who helped turn The Game rivalry around and get us a B10 Championship enroute to our first playoff appearance. Many great feathers to put in the proverbial cap!
That being said, would be cool if he stayed, but I understand if he wants to head out and find himself on a roster where he can be QB1
A ton of teams out there that would be grateful to have his leadership I am sure of that
November 9th, 2022 at 5:41 PM ^
Win over OSU, Big Ten Title
Whatever else happens, nobody can take those away from him.
November 9th, 2022 at 5:47 PM ^
Cade: Not just a QB, a Leader.
November 9th, 2022 at 6:10 PM ^
Cade stayed. He played. Got paid. Got laid. Memory will not fade. No air raid. Just slayed. Self made. Not arcade, but our Cade. Ya feel me?
November 9th, 2022 at 6:32 PM ^
Get well soon. And thanks. 42-27 and out.
November 9th, 2022 at 6:33 PM ^
While Cade played HS in Reno, his brothers finished HS in Nashville area. Both his brothers are now at UTEP. It'll be interesting where he winds up.
Personally I'd love seeing him at WKU or Vandy.
November 9th, 2022 at 7:00 PM ^
Is it insane to hypothesize he could replace Hooker at UT?
November 9th, 2022 at 6:35 PM ^
Best wishes Cade! We are all hoping for a quick recovery.
November 9th, 2022 at 6:45 PM ^
CM12 BABY!!!
Speedy recovery!
November 9th, 2022 at 6:49 PM ^
Best wishes Cade get well soon.
November 9th, 2022 at 6:58 PM ^
Bummed we can't keep him as a backup for the rest of the year, but even without injury that'd probably have been the case. We'll always have 2021, godspeed Cade.
November 9th, 2022 at 7:03 PM ^
I will always remember the time he helped rally the team against our most-hated rival. Yes, that time he led us to victory over Rutgers in 2020 was magic.
November 9th, 2022 at 7:16 PM ^
All last year was beautiful. People forget how good he was. This is 2021 highlights. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful memories.
November 9th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
This video is worth 25 minutes of your time. I hope Cade recovers and we see him again. Quality QB and we lose something by not having him available. Get well soon son!
November 9th, 2022 at 7:14 PM ^
Seems he'd be better for Georgia than Stetson Bennett.
November 9th, 2022 at 7:15 PM ^
Dude has that edge. He will be a success in his next endeavor.
