I'll be honest, I never realized there was an Android app. I just saved Mgo to my home screen.

Pretty sure they killed the app a few years ago with the release of the redesigned site.
Ever since they did that, I've been a less frequent visitor. It used to be a quick refresh of the app to see the new posts. Now you have to go to the website, and it's harder to navigate on a phone.

There isn't a traditional app. Open mgoblog in chrome and then click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner (next to the url). Hit add mgoblog to homescreen. Close chrome and check your desktop. Mgoblog will be there.

I thought they got rid of the app years ago - interesting that it was working at all

Wait….what year is it?

Does that mean Charles is playing on Saturday? I am cautiously optimistic but if we get # 2 then I like our changes a whole lot better.

RIP the old IOS app. I know it was unofficial and certainly want the blog to stay "free" so I'm happy to support it in whatever fashion it needs to be supported.
That said, it was simple. Clean. Mostly text. Ominous black and white 80's hair metal rocker lurking over every great article Brian wrote. Boy did she purr.
Hoke truly did spring eternal back then.

The MGoBlog HD App was so user friendly when it came to the board. Posting was much easier, and scrolling as well.
I'd be willing to pay a subscription fee for that app. Whoever designed the old app should be put on for the site and the amount they'll make from it (heck even have some sort of ads visible on the app) will more than cover the costs.

I'd gladly pay a subscription fee for anything that improves this message board and I'm a cheapskate

Same, I still have no idea how to find posts in a thread that is more than a half page long. That is on the desktop. There is zero chance of finding a post to see if anyone replied on mobile.

Ah, the days when you could make a post and had a chance at finding it again later to see if anyone replied. Simpler times I guess.

Pro Tip
1. Click on your username.
2. Search the list of your posts to find the one you are interested in.
3. Click the link to your post in the Title column to go to your post
4. Read the replies to your post if there are any.
Hope this helps you out a little.

Thanks, I've seen this before, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using safari and when I do that, it just takes me to a random place in the thread. I just tried it again and no dice.

I usually experience a bug where the link won't take me past the first page
November 23rd, 2021 at 10:19 AM ^
I get that as well. It just takes me to the top of the first page or some random spot within.

Seems like a lifetime ago (and the iOS one was official)

Yeah, almost 12 years. The last update was almost 5 years ago.
Great work. Loved the app.

I really miss it. It was so simple to scroll through the new posts both on the main feed and on the board. Was a quick and easy way to interact with the site. Now I pretty much only come here when I'm sitting at a computer because of how clunky it is to navigate on a phone.
I would pay for the App on the App Store if it were available still.

The Android app has been gone a long time. Create an "app" through Chrome and put it on your home screen. It's gives a direct link to the mobile-friendly version of the page. It actually works quite well.

I miss the android app but the PWA they have set up isn't bad.

I'd pay a subscription for a clean, functioning app.
