This again was a way to take away from the mediocre product on the field. Multiple fly overs, loud music blaring through the loudspeakers, half time shows that are junior high level at best.
I was in Section 44 today, and the consensus from about 15 people sitting around me was that was the most brutal halftime show in memory (and some of the folks in that section have LONG memories).
I know Brandon had nothing to do with half time, but it is his "marketing concept" that permeates throughout the football program, of which i consider the band a part of.
Today, IMO, was just another example of how Michigan football has gotten away from it's true roots, all the pomp and circumstance before the game, during timeouts, between plays, and at half time, but once the whistle blows to put the ball in play, the product has deteriorated to not even entering the red zone for a 2nd game out of two against power 5 conferences this year.

I would venture to say that Michigan V Tenn or Mercer will be the early game, while Louisville V Kentucky or Wichita State will be the late game. That could be on of the marquee games of the weekend.
Now, if it was Mich V Duke, that would have been a different story.
|37 weeks 2 days ago||That was a big shot by Robinson||
It was a 4 pt game, about 2 1/2 to go, late in the shot clock, and he had a poor game up to that point. But, he hit it, made it a 7 pt game, and it really was never in doubt thereafter. Go Blue!!

I think this game showed again how good MSU is going to be when they are fully healthy and playing as a unit.
There is no way they should have been in this game, but they were right there at the end. Harris had the worst game of his career, yet they were a back rim half court shot away from winning again on the road.
Michigan can beat them in AA, but they are going to have to play their A game that day.
All in all, We needed this to maintain a share of the lead, time to beat the Buckeyes and head into the two game gauntlet at home with some momentum.
|43 weeks 5 days ago||That was one of the worst periods of the year.||
Other than Racine, nobody did anything. State won most every battle for loose pucks, had much more energy throughout. If not for Racine, it would be 3 or 4 to zip. It is one thing to lose, but to be totally out worked by your arch rival is depressing.
|1 year 3 days ago||I wish i was as confident as you guys||
I don't see us running the ball well at all. And I foresee a close, "smashmouth" game for about 2 1/2 qtrs, when we are down 13-3 or 17-7, and we start to open it up. Then Gardner is running around and running around and running around.
I think MSU's defense is so strong, and their Offense will do just enough (plus Michigan rarely gets TFL's, so expect to see a lot of third and 3's, third and 4's, third and 5's) and State can convert those.
I hope i am WAY OFF BASE, but i see a MSU 24-13 win or something like that.

Not sure where to find this game, and am definitely not familiar with the BeIN network

If you read through the thread referenced, the RCMB are insinuating that Michigan is cheating and that is why the recruiting has been so solid. They can't believe that any recruit would come to Michigan these days, and I quote, "when there is smoke, there is fire". Some of the delusional ones are convinced Michigan is rampantly cheating to reel in the recruits. If some of the posts don't totally piss you off, it is a humorous read.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Agreed - Those are Michigan Sections||
I am in 118, and it is all Michigan (although we somehow ended up with a couple of Syracuse fans right next to us last night).
I expect a TON of 'Ville fans tomorrow, so all the Michigan fans who are deciding should come on down.
|1 year 37 weeks ago||My 2 Cents||
State, from Izzo on down, WANTED this much much more than Michigan did. He outcoached Beilein from start to finish. Period. Don't get me wrong, i really like what Beilein is doing and has done already this year, but tonight, it was ugly, and it starts with the HC.
As for the team, anybody not named Burke got dominated, and he only marginally played better than Appling. Hardaway was a total no show, including ZERO defense to go with his awful 1-11 shooting tonight. GRIII has bottomed out, let's hope he gets his mojo back and gets back on track. The Big guys got thoroughly dominated, really hope Morgan gets healthy and playing again, they miss his interior presence, and he is the only nasty player on the team. McGary played like a freshman tonight.
All told, gotta take a step back, that was the most difficult 4 game stretch any team will have, and if Brust does not heave his miracle shot, Michigan would be in excellent shape.
Got some easier games upcoming (2 against Penn St plus a home game with the now resurgent Illini) before the State game again. Hope they get some wins, get their confidence back, and try to return the favor in two and a half weeks.
Again, this is why the Wisconsin loss hurts so much, now Mich has to win out and hope to get some help with MSU and IU each losing one more game.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||And the Power Play is at an all time low||
That does not help either, that they cannot do anything on the PP. Last night they had 4 PP's, scored zero, and gave up one. This is just one of those years, one that this program has not seen in 20 + years.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||Goaltending Again||
Just like i said last night, Michigan as a team is affected by their goaltending situation. Again, tonight, first good shot, and goal. They need to addres this in the offseason, cannot go into next year with Racine and Rutledge as the goaltenders.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||Mich PP is not good||
Ohfer tonight, with one SHG against.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||Racine out, Janecyk back in||
So Red made the move to change goalies again
|1 year 41 weeks ago||The D is not too blame tonight||
Tuesday was terrible all the way around. Tonight there is more energy and in reality Alaska has not had many chances. To their credit, they have buried em when they had a chance. However, the goalies need to make plays and are simply not making any plays.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||Goaltending is Killing this team||
4 goals allowed on 17 shots, no really good saves at all tonight. Janecyk played on Tuesday and was pulled, Racine is in goal tonight. Not sure Red can pull him for Janecyk. Rutledge is not dressed tonight, not sure what his status is.

Should be a good night. Go Blue!! BTW, I have sat in row zero before, nice folding chairs in the corner of the rink.

I am also on the South side, it looks like it snowed here due to so much hail. Ugly aftenoon weatherwise.
|2 years 33 weeks ago||Gottleib said the same thing||
FWIW, if we care what Doug Gottlieb has to say, he also predicted Ohio to beat us, due to their 3 pt defense being strong.
|3 years 28 weeks ago||Kings of the 2 out nobody on Single||
The Tigers are kings of the 2 out nobody on singles/rallies, then not scoring. Their OBP as a whole is killing them, especially at the top of the lineup, and their inability to get key hits with runners in scoring position continues a trend. Leyland always stresses situational hitting, but this team under him and Lloyd McClendon has continually lacked in that area. Last night is a great example, 2nd and 3rd nobody out twice, and it took a throwing error to get one run. A simple ground ball to 2nd, you get a run and a chance for a second with a fly ball, or another ground ball if the infield stays back. And, this team lead the AL in LOB last year, so that is a key stat. And, they never ever seem to score early in games.
|3 years 28 weeks ago||Is this writer for real?||
His he insuating that the dude was asking for trouble because he wore his Giants jersey to the game at Dodger Stadium? Who cares how old the guy is, he almost lost his life, and who knows what kind of permanent damage has been done to him, all because he wore the enemies jersey.
What a tool that writer is.
|3 years 29 weeks ago||It has still been a great year||
It was this close to being th perfect year. A great run, led by the little man who alomost willed his team to a title. A great year, Big Chill, GLI, CCHA regular Season, Regional Champ, upset of Dakota, and then oh so close in the finals. I am a 15 year season ticket holder, and while i could be a "little" happier, am still very satisfied with this season. Just thinking back to Senior nite puts a smile on my face.
|3 years 31 weeks ago||Sullinger is awesome, but O$U can eat it||
Great win for Kentucky. Sullinger was a man amongst boys, lets hope he decided to get paid (more then he got this year) but UK still beat 'em.
|3 years 31 weeks ago||Couldn't Say It Better||
And, BC goes down in the hockey regional, a much better chance against CC tomorrow night. O$U sucks, Go Blue!!
|3 years 33 weeks ago||While in the meantime, Fredette has 50 + on his own||
I flipped over to the BYU game, saw Fredette get 50, then flipped on PSU-Wisc and it is 35-33 with less than 1 min to go. Wiscy is the epitome of ugly tourney Bball.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Valenti?||
Most likely is the ass clown Valenti either taking Monday off, or bitching about something said or did during the win today!!
|3 years 36 weeks ago||Couldn't Throw it in the Ocean||
They were clearly going for the win there at the end, but Smot taking that shot?? Even though Stu struggled mightily, i would have preferred him for a 3, he is cold blooded.
Now they pretty much need to win out in the regular season.
