Gattis Quote
Gattis was interviewed recently during the Harbaugh Golf Classic. This quote got me fired up for the season.
"In our building, don’t come near it with a lighter because there’s enough fuel coming out of that building that we don’t need anything to try and push us anymore further. Our guys are fired up. If people say, hey man, what do you need to fuel you? We need nothing. All of what last year went through, it fueled us to this point. We’re motivated. We’re inspired. At the same time, we’ve got the biggest chip on our shoulder because the feelings that our players felt and the feelings our staff felt, we gotta take that out on somebody. That’s why we can’t wait until training camp to get here so we can start building this team for 2021."
The other notable quote he said was Blake Corum was one of the Top 3 most talented players on the team.

Some more word porn to get the masses fired up. Unfortunately it’s all been said before. I bet if you go back and review every pre season quotes from players and coaches where the year before Michigan struggled the quotes would all be quite similar.
Q: Why is talk cheap?
A: Because the supply always exceeds the demand.

WR - AA is going to play as a freshman, he's giving off major Drake Harris vibes in practice, looks as good as anyone in the WR room.
MAzi is a beast
EALL is a NFL player
DE looks like he's going to be part of the offense, and maybe splitting carries... Clearly the highest ceiling.
The staff think they have Joseph (maybe even a silent commit), SM thinks he has the 5* from wash OL leaning BLUE, and Cink has one ready to commit.
Cink, and RB are incredible coaches with hands on mentality. The players really seem to respect them, and our backend may not be as bad as expected.
Cheers
PS: Hope this message doesn't get deleted like the one from 2 weeks ago, for the record not one lie told. Sam called later that afternoon and I shared the whole story with him, maybe he will bring it to light one day.

Love these updates, but how hard is it to just write out full names?
Who is AA? Andrel Anthony?
Who is Joseph?
August 5th, 2021 at 12:22 PM ^
Thank you for this comment. I find it very annoying to not know who the hell is being discussed. I read this blog every day, I do not have all the names memorized.
August 5th, 2021 at 12:30 PM ^
And yes, by the time it took my to log on and write this I've realized that DE is Donovan Edwards, but why write it up so that one practically has to think "wait, why are we even playing a defensive end on offense at all, much less making it a big part?"
August 5th, 2021 at 12:42 PM ^
Love the Ghost updates. Andrel and Joshua Josephs, 2022 LB recruit out of Georgia.
August 5th, 2021 at 12:56 PM ^
I'm with you. I'm sure that post was full of good information, but it was tough to read. I thought DE was defensive end, then realized he means Donovan Edwards, but like don't make me guess man.
Yeah, when I saw AA and wr my first thought was Adrian Arrington thinking the poster was going back through the years of preseason hype quotes.

EALL first needs to catch the B-ALL
August 5th, 2021 at 12:33 PM ^
Thanks for the info. Would love for it all to pan out, especially the bits about Mazi and crootin'
Yeah man..if Mazi is ready, changes a lot about what we can do this year.

Bummed that I missed the post from 2 weeks ago.
August 5th, 2021 at 12:56 PM ^
What was the post about 2 weeks ago?
And I agree, I think the second part should be decent to solid. A new scheme, a new CB emerging, and an actual safety coach will do wonders. I’m mostly worried about the front 7 outside of Aidan.
I must have missed it too.
But not saying I can't happen that things disappear sometimes, as there's a lot of great individual posts by many that are collateral victims when an opening post is based off links to or info gleaned from verboten websites.
I've never yet been suspicious of Ghost of Jermaine posts and would be shocked if the disappearance of anything he wrote was something other than an unintended victim, lost when an entire thread was taken down.
Maybe because it can tip off another staff that ours is confident in a certain recruit, to then focus more on that recruit. Loose lips sink ships.
Is giving off Drake Harris vibes a good thing for a freshman receiver?
My question too. I was able to follow all those initials without a problem, but I cant figure this out.
I see why people would complain about abbreviations but it's not like he is a paid reporter. He spent time out of his life to give us free tidbits of info.
Hey GoJG keep using initials. Never change. If people complain, fuck them they aren’t real fans. I appreciate the info.
Great quip! I remember it from either my first or second Econ class at Michigan.
This is perfectly stated Cobra.

I swear to God... Gattis, Harbaugh and the rest of the program better not utter a syllable, show their face in public, or take a shit until we beat Ohio state and win da big ten. The media asking them questions is UNACCEPTABLE
sHoW mE!!!
TaLk Is ChEeP.
But also...ShOw MoRe FyiiiRe LiKe CaMpBeLl.
August 5th, 2021 at 10:57 AM ^
Yeah, exactly. You know, as I listened to Harbaugh speak during the media days, he just comes off weird and full of shit and man I hate to say that.
Another thing that I noticed is Warren took a photo with every coach he called up except Harbaugh, it was striking to me and caught Harbaugh off guard and he looked towards Warren to come over and pose with him but he never did. I wonder what was going on with all of that.
I agree with everyone, talk less, do more...

Whoosh.
August 5th, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
Exactly right. Didn’t we have the best receiver group he had ever been a part of a couple seasons back? Also, the best TE room in the country? this is all about getting the team motivated.
I agree with the state of Missouri. Show me.
Hope the 2021 team has a rebound season and an offense that can score points and improves drastically as the season goes on. Those changes would be greatly appreciated.
Same with me, I'm a Show Me Fan now. I really hope I'm wrong on the state of the program and Michigan comes out playing with a chip on their shoulder from opening kick off until the last whistle in whatever bowl or CFP game they are in. But I won't get super excited until I see changes on the field and it'll take more than beating directional schools. Beat Wisconsin, MSU and PSU and I might start to take notice. Beat OSU and I'm changing my tune.
Hopefully they’ll come out looking to “make a statement.” Worked great last time.
How about this, make statements against Wisconsin, PSU, MSU and OSU. Win all those games and there shouldn't be much of a problem winning the rest.
I think its cheap to discount the heart of these young men. Guys on here act like their heart is broken. Well, you don't put the sweat equity into the wolverine season that these young men do. The losses have to hurt them deep.
I, for one, want an offensive coordinator who motivates. And on the occasion that he opens his mouth should signal to us that its his job to do so. So what if his manhood shows now and then.
Great, now actually prove it on the field for once
Gattis has always excelled at talking a big game about his offense and how good we will be at everything. Unfortunately, his ability to back it up… is found lacking.
Before 2019: Speed in Space!!!!
Before 2020: We wont beat ourselves, the gameplan to beat OSU is out!!!!
Before 2019 Don Brown: OSU better watch out!!!!
2021: We'll die trying!!!
Corum showed massive flashes last season...recall that improvised end zone corner td run.... very impressive player.... appears the only talent we've gotten from Biff, too.
Massive? Not sure about that. Haskins was clearly a better back. I really think Jury is still out on Corum.
A lot of picture love from fans on him but not actual results
He was a true freshman that looked like a seasoned vet. As much as I love Haskins, they are different rbs. I love our rb room right now.
A true freshman that looked like a season vet? Wow, we haven't seen that since Zach Charbonnet. Probably safe to consider them both a lock to be All-B1G players, right? /s
Corum had 70 rushing yards last year but people are acting like he had 700.
"Sound and Fury" my friend, "Sound and Fury". Talk to me in November.
So the submarine has surfaced?
August 5th, 2021 at 11:51 AM ^
Speaking of subs resurfacing....I like your header pic. (please, please, please....don't be his daughter)
LOL..... user name checks out....
I have two sons, just thought she was a delightful looking young lady.
I wish he would stop talking sometimes.
August 5th, 2021 at 11:00 AM ^
He’s required to talk to the media because money.
August 5th, 2021 at 11:43 AM ^
Shhh...you'll undermine his smug comment.
He's not required to say what he says to the media
It would be great if true but it's hard to feel anything about it after seeing basically the same coach speak for the last 15 years. Show the improvement on the field. Our NFL draft performance shows that we have great individual players. So I'm sure we have some exciting talent. But we also have a real knack for wasting it while they're here.
