If you are a wide receiver with NFL aspirations and you are offered a chance to go play football for Alabama, you go to Alabama. That's the end of the discussion right there.

Honest question - why would anybody think this guy would even consider Michigan for a transfer?

Tarik Black left and had nothing good to say about the program. DPJ got drafted in the 6th round and there has been a ton of chatter here in Cleveland how poorly he was coached and utilize when he was here.  And Nico Collins opted out and went in the 3rd round.

While Alabama just put TWO wide outs in the top 10 of the draft.

I didnt look.  Were the good folks at RCMB equally shocked by his decision?

kinda saw this coming when osu moved wilson back outside. a shame, but williams was a starter last year in snaps only. targets, not so much.

i wonder of osu will de-emphasize slot targets this year with wilson moving to z wide receiver.

Bigger question mark for you guys this year will be QB play.  I watched your spring game with a huge OSU booster/alum and to say their performance was choppy would be an understatement.  He was pretty shocked at how bad they all looked.

And yes I know all about glass houses and throwing things.

ehh, i'm not too worried about qb play this year. someone will be good. also, idk what game your buddy watched, but if he thought stroud and mccord looked "bad," he should re-evaluate how he watches sports and spring games.

way bigger question mark is our ability to play man coverage on any passing offense with a pulse.

From the original thread announcing he's leaving OSU and U-M was supposedly a contender:

"There’s no way he goes to Alabama. He obviously wants to get on the field, hence the transfer. His best option to see the field would be MSU."

"If he's not seeing enough playing time in Columbus it's even less likely he sees it in Tuscaloosa. Bama is probably the least likely landing spot."

"He was a starter at OSU too, so he’s probably guaranteed to start everywhere except Alabama. The guy is a game changer and has elite speed. He would be a huge get if the staff can pull it off."

Sorry, without even looking at Bama depth chart, if he can't get targets ohio how in the holy heck does he think he will get more targets at Bama???

Edit: Yeah, just looked, Bama has 8!! 4 star or better WRs on the team including 4 top 50 overall players.   Sure glad he thinks he'll get more targets.

All the Bama insiders saying he'll play and likely be a starter after losing Waddle and Smith.  He is a top 15 WR in college football would barely see the field next year at OSU.  That's how good their WR room is.

OSU has been stacking WR talent like we haven't seen in ... well ... a long time.

I don't think you know how good this guy is and how good OSUs other receivers are.

Hmmm I wonder why? Can’t be cause Bama has had a lot of first round picks at WR the last few years is it?

Why would he go to Bama when he could come to the high-octane passing attack that produces high draft picks like...

...Ah shit. Never mind.

If you can't beat 'em join 'em, amirite? Maybe now the OSU fans will have some perspective on how we felt after Boren went to them and then later on with Mattison

Doesn't this qualify as a good thing for us? He was not coming here, didn't go to a different conference school and ever so slightly weakens OSU's strongest position group.

Not really. The 2020 roster talent - based on recruiting - was really close between Georgia, Alabama, and OSU.  Those 3 separated themselves from everyone else.  In this case OSU just happens to have a lot stronger WR group - and I guarantee - the weakest DB group of the 3.

Can you blame him? In his last live game, he watched Tuf Borland (attempt to) cover Alabama's wide receivers. If I'm a blue chip wide receiver, I'd be signing up for that kind of treatment too!

I don’t follow Alabama closely. I wonder if Sarkisian was a great OC and the play calling drops off a little this year. You’d think just with losing 8 top 38 picks in the draft would have them take a step back (from Alabama>>>#2 to Alabama ≈ #2). Those two combined makes it seems like a repeat isn’t likely.

Just curious as to who the new Alabama QB is. [I don't follow Bama obviously.] I remember watching the Citrus ??? [Not sure which bowl it was] a couple of years back and Mac Jones carving us up. I remember thinking, and this is the back up QB? Alabama has had some exceptional talent these past couple of seasons, I wonder if the next group is as good?

According to Sam Webb this morning, there is some heavy social media stuff coming out from Williams' dad bad mouthing tOSU.  He also says that his son is not the only WR going to transfer out.  Didn't catch if that's a Twitter thing or what.
