Must be easier to make a change when people know who the HC is

Anyone know why the “OT - $20 million for charity” post got taken down? Asking for a friend.

Sorry to thread jack

No, you aren't!

Well, that was a fast replacement of a coordinator....is that how its supposed to happen?
January 8th, 2021 at 12:02 PM ^
Because most likely Franklin didnt have to go through a list of candidates and get to #12 before someone said yes.

Seriously, Minnesota had a good thing going, PSU swooped in and fucked it up, and now they are spitting him out.
Screw PSU.

It's a strange move. Kirk Ciarrocca was celebrated as one of the great young minds in college football.
Everyone got thrown a COVID curve. PSU lost it's top 3 running backs.
As we saw here. with Gattis, it takes a few games to get things going under a new OC. PSU won it's last 4 games and they weren't close.
This suggests he is the sacrificial lamb, or the more likely, there something else is going on here.

Have we got things going yet with Gattis?
January 8th, 2021 at 12:11 PM ^
Agreed. What have we seen with Gattis that’s very positive? 21 against MSU? Running zone read repeatedly with no read? Wildcat?

I believe he is referring to the play with McNamara under center.

No. And if they don't really get it going next year they're all gone. Michigan is gonna need to score a lot of points next year. I've been pessimistic here, but if there's any hope it's this offense doing to OSU what it did to Minnesota last year.

Ciarrocca also did a great job at Western taking down Northwestern and pasting Illinois en route to a Cotton Bowl. I wish he could be HC in Kalamazoo instead of freaking Howdy Doody.

I don't think this is entirely fair to Kirk Ciarrocca. It was only one year, where there were A LOT of unique factors (COVID, losing the various running backs).
As someone else said, PSU did also noticeably improve as the season went on. That should be worth something.
One thing that is for certain: Franklin has had a lot of offensive coordinators. The next one will be #5 (in the 8th year) at PSU under Franklin! John Donovan, Moorhead, Ricky Rahne, Ciarrocca, and the next one.
On a tangent, I feel bad for Rahne for other reasons. He deservedly got the ODU head coach offer in December 2019. He took it --- leading the way for Ciarrocca at PSU --- but then ODU was one of only 3 FBS schools not to play in 2020. Hoping that Rahne gets his chance in 2021.

Maybe Michigan is in play???

Great hire, IMO. Yurcich killed it OSU (ntOSU) and will help restore the deep passing attack in Happy Valley.
I hope we add some similar firepower to our offensive staff.
January 8th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
Is it though? We could have said the same thing about Kirk.

Their resumes are not even in the same galaxy. Go ahead and compare and let me know if you still think the same thing.

Well, well, well buddy I hope you're ready to get MACDONALD'D this season
/please end the pain
