Michigan loses director of football operations to Illinois
Sign of things to come or just reuniting with Bielema?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:02 PM ^
Yes. No. Maybe so.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:03 PM ^
Perfect post for the Assistants Snowflake thread.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:56 PM ^
I love that you're doubling down on the value of those crap threads. Stick to your guns.
I learned two things from this post. 1. a working knowledge of the football team's org chart places "director of football operations" as an assistant position. 2. the fact that you have two upvotes means that both you and your alt account appreciate your wit.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:03 PM ^
Technically, the position is a Department Head role on MGoBlue.com, so maybe it’s not an assistant role, and surprisingly, some other people upvoted me. I guess my humor didn’t go over everyone’s head.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:02 PM ^
Could be both

Everything I have been told today is positive that JH is back. Been in constant contact with new coaches, and most of the smoke is Moorehead and Banks, but to be clear a different source all together on coaches. I think Strack is a clown, who belongs with YodAR and Balas, but maybe the joke is on me.
Cheers
PS: The amount of people JH will be burning if he really is working on an NFL deal is massive. Coaches, parents, recruits, and many others.

Any insight into why there has not been an announcement? Has he signed and the AD/Harbaugh thinks there’s some strategic value in staying silent this long? It’s just odd that it’s going this long and it’s making Harbaugh look squishy on his commitment to Michigan if all reports are indicating that he’s on the fence.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:47 PM ^
He has not signed. The university is a public institution and the contract is subject to FOIA and the OMA. If it’s been signed, someone would have requested it by now and even with the delay public entities are allowed under FOIA, it would have leaked.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:00 PM ^
That's great, wonder if the Harbaugh haters will be doing the "San Diego is still in play" this time around?
January 4th, 2021 at 5:04 PM ^
Who is Banks again?
January 4th, 2021 at 5:06 PM ^
Co-DC for Penn State
January 4th, 2021 at 5:14 PM ^
Thank you!
January 4th, 2021 at 5:08 PM ^
Lol if its Banks. I know our recruiting could use some help but getting a mediocre guy to lock down the detroit recruiting scene doesn't seem like the answer
January 4th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
Sam Webb? Is that you?
January 4th, 2021 at 5:18 PM ^
As always, upvote for the information and interna sadness for the reality. Always appreciate your work.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:21 PM ^
Moorhead would be an A+ hire. Banks would be a D hire unless he's just being hired as a co-DC. His only experience as a sole DC went very poorly.

Even Harbaugh follows the golden rule: look out for #1. Don’t we all to be fair?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:03 PM ^
Amber alert?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:04 PM ^
When you get dumped for Bert, it's really, really bad.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:08 PM ^
Herbert declined to rejoin Bert and stayed with Michigan, however.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
No doubt as he had 600,000 good reasons to stay here at Michigan.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:12 PM ^
Have you seen Bert's wife? He obviously has a track record of attracting people way out of his league.
January 4th, 2021 at 5:19 PM ^
Obligatory....
January 4th, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
Not a big deal.
Per the site:
In this role, Taurisani was responsible for the daily logistics of the football program, including team travel, budget, personnel, staffing, day-to-day operations and bowl game travel. He also served on the athletic department's senior and executive staffs and functioned as the football program's liaison to university administration.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:13 PM ^
I believe he was also no. 10 of the 12 people in the play-calling chain. But mostly booking travel.
January 4th, 2021 at 6:14 PM ^
Certainly seems as if filling this post with someone who can do these things effectively should be pretty easy.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
Does he have a name?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
His name is Robert Paulson
January 5th, 2021 at 12:43 AM ^
That made me laugh.
Also, remember Sammy Jankis.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
It’s either Art Vandelay or Tom Ace

Samsonite. You were way off.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:57 PM ^
Justin Feagin.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
He worked with Big Boy for 12 years. If this was indicative of something related to our coaching situation why didn't Ben Herbert go back him since it was reported that was Illinois' desire?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
January 4th, 2021 at 4:07 PM ^
I imagine he does the same thing as our director of recruiting operations, which is nothing?
January 4th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Operations you numb skull....You know when guys get hurt and need an operation. He runs it all.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
What’s the pay? I want to apply.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:06 PM ^
Well that's odd.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:06 PM ^
What am I going to do with the director of football operations jersey I got for Christmas
January 4th, 2021 at 4:11 PM ^
Hope that you can remove the name and someone else picks the same number. Maybe that’s where the No. 1 Jersey went.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Maybe dude thinks Bert is at Illinois longer than Harbz is at Michigan

Black Monday Snowflakes: Non-coaching administrative roles.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
We're not truly despairing until we see "Black Monday Snowflakes: Finish On The Credenza" and proceed to debate natural pine versus a nice medium cherry.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:26 PM ^
Jesus. If we have folks advocating for pine then this shithole has completely gone RCMB.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:31 PM ^
My kitchen would like to have a discussion of granite vs quartz.
January 4th, 2021 at 6:13 PM ^
I was hoping to see a director of defensive operations moving on thread.
January 4th, 2021 at 4:12 PM ^
I'm sure that was difficult...Take a guaranteed job or continue refreshing twitter to see if Harbaugh landed an NFL gig and then lose your job.
