(OT) It's National Signing Day! open thread
Today is National Signing Day, and nobody seems to care around here because Michigan isn't expected to sign anyone. Micah Mazzccua flipped to Baylor and Nick Patterson isn't expected to sign with Michigan. Michigan was hoping to land James Pogorelc, but Pogorelc committed to Stanford.
So this is an open thread to talk about guys signing elsewhere and/or what's going on across the country.
There are a bunch of guys Michigan "offered" who are still undecided.

You're thinking of Spinal Tap's "Break Like the Wind."

No, I was thinking of "Lick My Love Pump."

It was a big hit for Missouri actually.

Don, do you mean these guys?

So how many 5 stars is Bama going to sign at the last minute today? That’s all I’ve ever really taken away from this process, is schools like Bama have classes that look great but not elite back in December/January, but look at the end of the day in NSD, and they’ve signed or flipped 3-4 five star recruits.
I don’t think Michigan has anyone on their board realistically looking to commit today. Anything newsworthy that can happen on the recruiting front today is of the negative variety.

Looks like Patterson did sign with us today

I forgot it was signing day.

Yes, speaking purely from a selfish perspective, this has definitely taken away some of the fun for us fans.

Hasn't it just moved it to December?

Trying to follow what is happening with Fickell. Hopefully he tells Staee to shove it.

Has Michigan been working on any of the outstanding recruits or did they stand pat with what they have? With the glaring needs at DT, I find it hard to believe the staff is satisfied with that current position.

So there aren’t really any DT’s worth a damn this cycle. You really want them to waste a scholarship? Not as much of a glaring need as you think.

There are plenty of 3* DT's that have some size that could be brought in as projects. Harbaugh/Brown love their project players.
We appear to have scholarships available for nepitoism, so why can't we have scholarships for projects?

Look to players in the transfer portal for possible DTs.

Uh...hell yeah?

The buzz around this day died when players were allowed to sign earlier. Plus, I am just so sick of UM's failing every season that I'm just not as excited as I once was for UM football. The Wolverines is my favorite sports team and I'll never miss a game, but the excitement level has been dipping over the years.

No reason to get negged for this take -- here's one back. I fully agree with what you are saying.
Hopefully we improve next year as the players get more comfortable with the Gattis offense.
Record will be the same though. 9-3 ish.

1) I have chronic stalkers who neg every post of mine they see. I could not care less and I find it funny I'm in their heads.
2) Some people cannot handle criticism or negative comments about the football team.

Too bad Cameron Martinez went to OSU even though he never really considered UM seriously :/ . But, this looks like another very solid class and next year is a talented class for the state of MI. Hopefully we can get a QB to step up in 2020, last year's freshman and/or Jeter can progress to fill the gap at DT, and the young o-lineman are ready. A 10 or even 11-win season would be nice. Do that, land some of next year's top talent, and things are projecting nicely going forward. More QB and DT struggles and another 4 or more loss season and things might start to look ugly for JH with his contract coming up in the near future.

Mgostrenght, why didn't he consider UM? Or more importantly why didn't harbaugh try and keep a very athletic instate athletes home? Obviously um's roster lacks speed. It's been painfully obvious versus osu the last 3 contests.wouldn't he be one of the more athletic players day one @ um versus waiting his turn @ osu? UM has to make a bettet effort imo recruiting top 100 players.thats where the game changers are. Just curious who you think the game changing players are on your roster? 2/3 of the last classes harbaugh signed had zero top 100. From the outside that appears to be just a poor effort @ a national brand like UM.
