"...the talk that KJ Costello might transfer to Michigan..."
LOLWUT

Thunder/Magnus talked about it. Do you know who he is? So, I'm not making it up.

At no point in that post did he say "Michigan is going after Costello." He even says he's only addressing players who might have been rumored to be targets of Michigan.
He listed a dozen transfers and theorized how they would fit at Michigan if Michigan were to go after them. Which again, he did not say Michigan was in fact going after them.
January 25th, 2020 at 12:31 AM ^
Neither did I say they are going after him. How did you get the idea I did?
January 24th, 2020 at 12:15 AM ^
Was there any real “talk,” though?
January 24th, 2020 at 12:19 AM ^
No, not real.
But there's people that worry about things that aren't real.
January 24th, 2020 at 4:49 AM ^
Soooooo, you made the whole thing up!
January 24th, 2020 at 7:49 AM ^
Nope, didn't make it up.
If you think Thunder made it up you can talk to him about it.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:44 AM ^
Here was the real talk. I guess people don't remember. It wasn't that long ago.

You really like to tie your bad takes to Magnus. I wonder why
January 24th, 2020 at 9:50 AM ^
Am I magnus now? You got off the idea I'm Mineral Kingh? Is there something wrong with you?
January 24th, 2020 at 12:52 PM ^
No. you are def not Magnus or any credible insider or content creator
January 25th, 2020 at 12:29 AM ^
It's you that made a diary entry saying you're going to prove I'm Mineral King. And after you do, you said, you're "work here will be done". How bizarre was that? There's something wrong with you.
What bizarre things do you do in your other accounts?
January 24th, 2020 at 12:30 AM ^
I would like Michigan to be done with transfer quarterbacks now. Unless of course in the unlikely scenario a Fields or Burrow type transfer is interested, in which case absolutley bring them in.
January 24th, 2020 at 12:44 AM ^
While Fields was a high profile transfer, Burrow wasn't seen as significant until his second year at LSU. He was good but not great first year.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:50 AM ^
What he did this year was the Joe Brady show.
January 24th, 2020 at 9:24 AM ^
What you just highlighted is something we haven't seen at Michigan in a while. All it is is "Quarterback Development". Players should get better year after year...and the returning starting QB by a measurable degree (Especially with a decent OL and capable WR's).
One could try and pin Shea's lack of development on OC Coaching / schematic changes. But not pulling the ball when he should have and consistently missing throws down the field cannot be pinned on coaching changes alone.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:44 AM ^
I would love for to be done with transfer QB's too. Harbaugh has had to do it out of necessity...not out of choice. We just need JH to recruit and develop a legitimate top 3 B10 QB. So far after 5 years he has failed to do that. I would have made a $500,000 bet that at the end of year 5 that would not have been the case.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:45 AM ^
Jedd Fisch did really well with Jake Rudock though.
January 24th, 2020 at 8:53 AM ^
Now, I'm starting to wonder how much of Rudock's success was the Michigan staff and how much of that was the fact that he was a redshirt senior QB.
January 24th, 2020 at 9:16 AM ^
Absolutely he did.
January 24th, 2020 at 8:40 AM ^
Do you have $500,000?
January 24th, 2020 at 8:02 AM ^
Lol...solid comment. Theres been more success stories then just Fields and Burrow. Michigan had their best season in the past ten years with a transfer QB (Rudock). Also Hurts, Kyler Murray, Mayfield, the list goes on. This years transfers at the QB position are not the greatest but I think its definitely something that should be heavily monitored moving forward.
That being said we should pick up 4 of them on the DL/OL. Doesn't matter who they are. Thompson would be lovely from Oklahoma.
January 24th, 2020 at 8:39 AM ^
Russel Wilson.
January 24th, 2020 at 9:16 AM ^
2016 with Speight was the best team in 10 years not 2015.
January 24th, 2020 at 9:32 AM ^
2016 was definitely the best team but by record and bowl game the 2011 sugar bowl team was probably the best season in the past decade (as much as it pains me to say it)
January 24th, 2020 at 10:13 AM ^
It shouldn't pain you to say it, but we all know that season was a mirage. It was like the Sparty 2015 playoff team - a good team that had no business getting as far as it did, and only got that far due to luck and schedule.
2016 was the best team, 2018 was really good too. Then 2015 or 2011, both were good.
January 24th, 2020 at 8:50 AM ^
Hindsight is 20 / 20 ... both Fields and Burrows were disgruntled backups when taken as transfers not sure fire Heisman candidates they became.
January 24th, 2020 at 12:31 PM ^
This has to be on of my least favorite hot takes. QB is the most imporant position on field. I would like Michigan to have the best possible talent we can get at QB at all times. If we can get a transfer who is possibly better than anyone we recruited out of high school, then we should take them, full stop.
I don't understand how people can complain about Michigan not recruiting well enough under Harbaugh and then also insist that we shouldn't upgrade our roster via transfers whenever and wherever we can.
January 24th, 2020 at 1:06 AM ^
Good. I’d like to see a kid in the program get a shot. Not too impressed with Costello anyways.
also, fuck Stanfurd. Roll on you Bears.
January 24th, 2020 at 5:50 AM ^
Good coach and a great fit at MSU.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:47 AM ^
If any coach gets the most out of a QB it's Mike Leach. His history in the passing game is extraordinary.
January 24th, 2020 at 9:37 AM ^
Meh. I think Leach will be out of there in possibly three or four years.
I like Leach but he never actually did anything at WSU. Now he’s going to the SEC. We’ll see.
January 24th, 2020 at 10:55 AM ^
Explain good fit, please?
January 24th, 2020 at 11:53 AM ^
Sure. I can answer your good fit question with a question of my own. Was Rich Rod a good fit at Michigan? The good fit phrase was used quite liberally among the UM fan base during those days.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:05 AM ^
Did I miss something with this "talk that KJ Costello might transfer to Michigan?" Were you talking to yourself?
January 24th, 2020 at 7:14 AM ^
Ezekials creatures has multiple accounts here, so probably.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:41 AM ^
I guess a lot of people don't pay attention along the way.
Thunder at TouchTheBanner talked about it. You probably don't know who he is.
NOTE: I am only looking at players that Michigan has been tied to in one way or another, because otherwise, obviously this would be way too overwhelming.
K.J. Costello (RS Sr.) – QB – Stanford: Costello only played in five games in 2019 due to injury, but he completed 61.1% of his passes for 1,038 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. (His numbers were much better in 2018 when he completed 65% of his passes for 3500 yards, 27 TD, and 11 INT.) Michigan recruited Costello out of high school. Costello lacks the athleticism to run Josh Gattis’s offense to its full potential (18 carries for 24 yards in 2019), and he also has some issues with his mechanics. He would also cause upheaval to Michigan’s quarterback depth chart. If you bring him in, you probably intend for him to start – which would probably ensure that Dylan McCaffrey and/or Joe Milton transfer.

January 24th, 2020 at 7:55 AM ^
Just because Costello had Michigan as a finalist coming out of High School 4 years go doesn't mean he was ever in talks to transfer to Michigan.
When you google "KJ Costello Michigan," all that comes up is Yoder's dumb ass and stories about Costello coming out of High School.
I don't consider a guy who was once recruited by Michigan 4 years ago as "in talks" to transfer. Those are 2 completely different things and even in TTB's post (yes I know who that is), it's all just hypotheticals about the fit and even states that the tie is that Michigan recruited him out of high school.
January 24th, 2020 at 8:01 AM ^
This is exactly right. Hell, at no point in that quote did "Thunder" even say Costello was considering UM or UM wanted Costello.
January 25th, 2020 at 12:36 AM ^
So why did you put "in talks" in quotes? In talks is not said anywhere.
January 24th, 2020 at 10:57 AM ^
C'mon dude... reading comprehension is key here.
January 25th, 2020 at 12:40 AM ^
The talk that Costello might transfer to Michigan started up because of this post at TTB.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:56 AM ^
I guess DM need to produce now
January 24th, 2020 at 8:09 AM ^
Time for a good olf-fashioned QB battle. Both options get a full off-season/fall camp with Gattis' scheme and will hopefully produce better than the previous couple of QBs
January 24th, 2020 at 8:59 AM ^
This will be DM's 4th year in the program ... it is now or never.
Needs to hit that weight room and add more size, learn to keep his eyes downfield on scrambles and slide when needed if running. Move the chains and stay on the field instead of in the trainers room.
January 24th, 2020 at 7:59 AM ^
It seemed like nothing more than internet-only speculation all along, THANKFULLY.
I know we recruited this guy back as an elite high school prospect, but I watched a decent bit of him at Stanford and he was ... okay. Certainly did not give any indication of some uber-talent for which we would want to further disrupt the QB room.
At this point, IMO we need to see Dylan and/or Joe rise up and deliver as a home-grown talent. Jumping at the shiny new toy would be no bueno.
