There were 4 teams this year that were, far and away, better than everybody else... Clemson, LSU, Ohio St., and healthy Bama. They are all playing a different sport than Michigan.

Lots of talent, with lots of things to Enhance the Performance of those athletes. You know, Performance Enhancing things. That you can test for.
January 14th, 2020 at 1:02 AM ^
And michigan doesn’t use pdes? Obviously you did not live in south quad.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
They are on another level.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:27 PM ^
LSU's offense is torching 8 on fades thus far.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:29 PM ^
Track meet
January 13th, 2020 at 9:43 PM ^
Track meet - NOT. The defense is king tonight. Offenses look like shit. Couple of wonky big plays but no modern offense “domination”.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
Venables has found a protection issue for LSU in empty sets and it's just giving Burrows no chance. 3rd time I've seen a guy come up the middle virtually free. Not sure if it's the scheme, the player(s) or a combination of the 2.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:35 PM ^
Brady and Ensmiger answer with a draw out of empty to make it 17-14. Man up the blocking.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
so we've turned off face mask penalties too. at half time the refs will take a twitter poll to decide what not to call in the second half
January 13th, 2020 at 9:31 PM ^
LSU is too one dimensional. I know Burrow is good but, he is going to get blitzed and blitzed some more if they don’t try to run a little bit. Or at least throw a couple screens to the RB.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:33 PM ^
All the DB contact is taking away LSU's timing in the pass game. LSU's WRs can't get separation. This style of officiating has taken all the fun out.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:36 PM ^
I don't mind it, it reminds me of officiating of old. Taking the defense out has made football a little bit less enjoyable.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:49 PM ^
I feel like the LSU WRs are feasting on Clemson.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:35 PM ^
Can the Lions start tanking now to get the first pick in 2021?
January 13th, 2020 at 9:37 PM ^
They won't have to tank, Patricia is just that bad.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:35 PM ^
Accuracy of Burrow (Lawrence too) is absolutely amazing. We really need to make some serious changes to be even close to these teams.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:36 PM ^
If they were both eligible in the draft, who would you take first Burrow or Lawrence?
I'd think they'd go Lawrence #1, Burrow #2.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:39 PM ^
I'd take Burrow. I think he's more accurate and has less WR talent to work with.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:37 PM ^
January 13th, 2020 at 9:43 PM ^
Yes they got talent. So do we. The bigger gap is the coaching. Clemson’s O and D coordinators know their stuff. They got a few studs (Lawrence, ET, Simmons), but lots of guys who just do their job.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
Lawrence with the hospital ball gets his WR hurt.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
I didn't see no face mask. But we all have to be super sensitive---after all, his helmet came off, so something bad surely must have happened!
January 13th, 2020 at 9:41 PM ^
January 13th, 2020 at 9:41 PM ^
Not face mask but the back the helmet. Got his hand under the back and ripped it off.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
The WR was faking. Looking to draw a penalty
January 13th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
Clemson has an average of 11 the last 4 recruiting classes. Michigan averages 10.75.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
Wow. He jumps up from that.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:41 PM ^
Edit: site loaded slow and hit the wrong reply, my bad.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:44 PM ^
lol
same for me.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:42 PM ^
Wtf is happening, I for sure hit reply to a different comment but it keeps replying to this one.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:44 PM ^
Clemson gets more top 100 players and they recruit the important positions well at defensive tackle and quarterback. We have struggled at both positions to bring in high quality talent cobsistently.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:44 PM ^
What's the average player rating?
Edit: 3 times in a row, not replying to the right comment.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:46 PM ^
91.40 for Clemson and 90.14 for Michigan. Not a huge difference at all.
January 13th, 2020 at 10:36 PM ^
Disagree, it's a noticeable difference.
January 13th, 2020 at 10:43 PM ^
January 13th, 2020 at 9:50 PM ^
In the last 4 classes ('16-'19) Clemson's avg star per player is higher. Also over the last 4 classes UM has signed 106 players. Clemson has signed 81. Clemson's recruiting classes are sticking around for their 4 and 5 years while a lot of UM's recruits transfer out of the program.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:54 PM ^
I put the star ratings above. Not disputing it but it's not a wide gap. The talent not sticking around is a bigger issue.
January 13th, 2020 at 10:07 PM ^
People on here keep saying how we're just like every program with transfers, but we're not.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:39 PM ^
This game is going to be super long because these teams run such high tempo.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:42 PM ^
These are two elite teams and both have great QBs along with good defenses. May be with if Michigan could develop an elite QB, we may get close to this level.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:46 PM ^
I see 3 main differences in Michigan vs. these teams.
1. Coaching. Big gap.
2. QB’s. We need a good one. Like 1st Rd talent. Haven’t had one in long time.
3. DT’s. Bigger bodies up front to avoid the running up the middle.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:48 PM ^
#1 isn’t as big as you make it out to be. #2 and 3 are the main culprits.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:56 PM ^
Dabo/Venables/Scott/Elliott are great coaches. Best collective staff in college. Yes, they are better coaches, I don’t even think it’s close. The fact they have been able to stay together with no one leaving is impressive too. That helps them tremendously.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:51 PM ^
1 and 2 are probably related. Patterson was a 5 star and McCaffrey a high 4 star. Burrow wasnt that cant miss prospect until Joe Brady
Definitely agree on number 3.
January 13th, 2020 at 9:56 PM ^
Patterson was a transfer so I am not sure you xan count that. Mccaffery was a 5 star but he wasnt a 5 star in the way that Trevor Lawrence was. Trevor Lawrence was one of the top players of his class at any position.
January 13th, 2020 at 10:02 PM ^
So is Burrow. Both will have played at their respective schools for 2 years. Patterson was the top qb in his class. I'm really hoping Gattis is fixing this issue honestly.
