Ohio State cheats. They should be ignored.
There is no point in acknowledging a program that blatantly breaks the rules to the extent that they do.
Michigan football should be measured against other programs that actually follow the rules. Ohio State is not a rival. They are cheaters and should be completely ignored.
Just because the NCAA doesn't care doesn't mean we have to act like the playing field is equal.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:36 PM ^
Dude get a life, we lost get over it.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
As far as I'm concerned, Ohio State doesn't exist.
They're cheaters and shouldn't be recognized by anyone with a conscience.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:44 PM ^
Name checks out
November 30th, 2019 at 7:00 PM ^
So you put up a shit post and now you're doubling down in the comments defending it?
Mmmmkay.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:38 PM ^
That's a bold move, Cotton; let's see if it pays off!
November 30th, 2019 at 7:01 PM ^
LOLOLOL
November 30th, 2019 at 6:38 PM ^
We should just cheat and even the playing field. I’m not for ignoring or covering up crimes, but as far as paying players it’s time. Look at what Ole Miss was able to do with recruiting by blatantly paying players, it works. We can’t expect to beat OSU When they have more talent.
We can’t expect Harbaugh to beat Day/Meyer in chess when Harbaugh starts down a bishop every game. The messed up thing is uofm out coached OSU today. Passing for 250 first half yards was a lot to do with a great game plan.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
I agree to some extent. I would do it if I were in charge because the NCAA has made it clear that they'll look the other way.
But I won't blame our players/coaches for playing by the rules of the game just because others don't. The NCAA should just admit that they're a wannabe pro league or let the players who want to get paid play in an NFL mi or league. College football as currently constructed needs to be destroyed.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
You are completely delusional if you think Michigan in any way outcoached OSU today.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:59 PM ^
No team all year has passed like that against OSU. Not even close. That first half game plan was superb. You are delusional if you can’t see that. Once OSU adjusted their talent advantage took over. On defense I suppose I would entertain questioning Don Brown. That’s two years in a row he gave up a ton of points to OSU. However, keep in mind he turned this defense it a top 5-7 unit after a summer of thinking it might be about 30-40.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:07 PM ^
Doing some things well doesnt mean we outcoached them...and considering we were losing 28-16 at half...I don't know how you could think that's "outcoaching".
November 30th, 2019 at 6:59 PM ^
I agree Gucci. But I’m not sure how Michigan could go down that path. I think that the schools who blatantly do it have been doing it so long that it is an art form to them. I’m not sure Michigan has the network of people set up to do it effectively.
I do believe that there is a small amount of this already at Michigan, just not to the level of other schools.
November 30th, 2019 at 8:04 PM ^
"I’m not sure Michigan has the network of people set up to do it effectively."
Yeah, it'd be opening the doors to an entirely different set of insiders. Bagmen do it, in part, because they get off on access. With all the resistance to RR, can you imagine what letting the barbarians roam the halls would do? We'd either implode completely and become the University of Chicago, or do it so well the NCAA would make paying players within the rules.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:05 PM ^
You don't fucking lose by 4+ touchdowns while outcoaching the other team.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
What about outhitting?
November 30th, 2019 at 7:17 PM ^
We out coached them!? You are nuts. I’ll give you that our offense did some good things, but our D got their shit kicked in and had very few great plays. Special teams wasn’t great either. We didn’t out do them in anything today
November 30th, 2019 at 8:56 PM ^
Well for starters, start doing a better job trying to undress the opposing team - if UM players undress their girlfriends like they tried to undress Dobbins, they will never get laid...
November 30th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Pay the players and lower admissions for all athletic programs.
December 1st, 2019 at 9:40 AM ^
Beat them at their own game. Michigan should lead the charge in NCAA reform and paying players - eliminating the OSU, Bama, Clemson, SEC advantage and leveling the playing field in its favor. It’s not cheating if we make it legal. Grand strategy!
November 30th, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
Noble loser indeed.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
TheCube, thank you for that! First laugh I've had since the debacle
November 30th, 2019 at 7:02 PM ^
So you're saying he's losing with dignity?
November 30th, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
Well, the refs favor them that's for sure.
They don't have academic standards - they are more like Alabama and MSU. That being said having low standards doesn't affect their football performance, it just means players are associated with a low prestige school their entire life. It is what it is.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:22 PM ^
They're adulated when they're playing... But when they get out, the people who adulated them won't hire them.
Who was it that said that?
November 30th, 2019 at 6:40 PM ^
I don’t think they should be “ignored.” But I’m not really sure I care anymore. College football is kind of a mess and we can’t beat OSU so we will never make a BIG title game. I’m not sure what’s in it for me to be honest. Whatever, I guess. That’s all I got.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:40 PM ^
STFU you loser
December 1st, 2019 at 12:18 AM ^
Good one! Why the hell do you have a second underscore...that seems loserish.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:41 PM ^
Alabama cheats, Auburn shouldnt expect to compete with them.
Funny how the narrative before today was that "we're playing our best football of the season and have a shot", now it's "well OSU cheats we shouldnt expect to beat them".
November 30th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
The entire SEC has the same M.O. and we all know it.
Urban brought that to the Big Ten. Players don't line up to head to Cowtown, Ohio out of Texas and Florida just for the hell of it. Play into their bullshit narrative if you want to and continue to be frustrated until the end of time, regardless of who's coaching at Michigan. But I'm not going for it. If I were AD I would have canceled the game after Chase Young got that slap on the wrist.
They funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars to players and recruits every single year. They should be playing semi-pro instead of amateur sports.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:00 PM ^
Well you must have proof they are funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to players
You should contact the NCAA, you can find all needed contact info on NCAA website.
Or maybe, you just can't accept the fact that Ohio St is just better, and has been better for almost 20 years with no end in sight
December 1st, 2019 at 12:46 AM ^
Better at football. Otherwise a useless “academic” institution.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
There were lots of us and national talking heads that thought UM would best OSU. Now that we had our pants pulled down And spanked again for 8 years in a row, we start making excuses? It's the program. Hell, winovich admitted that UM doesn't take OSU serious while they prepare all year for us. It obviously shows. Their program wants to win, ours doesn't.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
I wasn't one of them.
Haven't called for a UM victory all season.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:41 PM ^
UNC basketball cheats. Good thing Michigan’s basketball program cares more about winning than making excuses.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Difference is basketball is 5v5 and has like a 12 man roster instead of 100.
But yes, programs like NC, Duke, Kansas, and Lousiville cheat HARD in basketball, and that's been proven multiple times over. It's just not as effective as it is in football.
November 30th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
I don't know. It pretty effectively keeps those teams at elite levels on the regular. It's just that basketball's a significantly different sport and teams that are really good who either cheat less or not at all can beat you on a given night. But the cheating keeps you in a position to get try after try at it year after year. 40 years of cheating has served coach K pretty well and it didn't hurt John Wooden; hell, he got to be a legend.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
And look how many hoops national titles the good ol bigten has in the last 20 years with their ethics and academics.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Cool thread
November 30th, 2019 at 6:47 PM ^
Whatever you need to tell yourself
November 30th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Sounds like you are tired of losing to them.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
That’s what elementary school kids say when they lose. We get our shit kicked in every year not because they cheat but because they have better players, program, and most importantly a staff that’s light years better than ours. But yeah they cheat.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:55 PM ^
They have better players because they cheat.
Their staff looks better because they cheat to get better players.
Keep sucking that Buckeye cheating cock though.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:54 PM ^
If every other school is cheating and paying players, I want Michigan to cheat and pay player so we can be on an even playing field with Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson. We desperately need those 5 stars or we will never, ever in our lifetime beat Ohio State in football again
November 30th, 2019 at 6:55 PM ^
So how do they cheat?
I mean you wanna just throw out baseless accusations. When Your basketball team in the 90s were proven cheaters.
You all are pathetic, truly. During the live game open thread cheering when Justin Fields goes down with an injury, what is wrong with all of you?
Hoping for other humans to be hurt is a horrible thing, you talk about how you have higher standards but openly cheering for injuries to other teams players is the lowest of the low.
Maybe you all need to seriously look inward and realize that no you aren't better then anyone else, you are just jealous of what you will never have, a winner.
Bo is always your go to coach of a Michigan man well guess what Bo played for and coaches at Ohio St.
Your "legendary" coach who never won a national title came from Ohio, all of your best players came from Ohio.
You have the all time win record in the rivalry because of the first 16 years of the playing of the game. Since the 1930's you have a losing record to Ohio St.
You all just need to realize you are not, and never will be elite. You are a 9-10 win program every year. It will never be any better.
You have half a national title in over 70 years, that isn't elite. That's Nebraska level of success.
You have become the Tennessee of the north, you will never be good enough.
Seeing your threads about another human being stabbed and in critical condition is disgusting and you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
You claim to be classy, when in truth you and all of the fans of your team are truly classless, and pathetic.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
Eat shit.
Your program has been implicated in innumerable scandals and shady dealings.
Anyone who pays attention and isn't a sycophant knows the reality. You're trash and accomplishments don't matter unless you play by the same rules as everyone else. Gfy.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
So what's the reality?
Put down on here your proof of cheating....oh you can't
So you go with the childish gfy, and why because you can't argue a single point.
You have no proof because you are just a bitter and jealous person
Oh the whole Zach Smith thing, that's a domestic issue doesn't mean Ohio St cheats
Oh tatgate, where players sold their own property, doesn't seem like cheating to me
But hey that fab five getting hundreds of thousands of dollars proven, that's just ok right?
November 30th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
Literally caught funneling money to your best player this very year
NCAA turns a blind eye because they're corrupt
gfy
November 30th, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
Well Chase Young said it was a loan.....the NCAA was saying it was a loan....
So do you have documented proof it wasn't a loan, or are you just talking out of your ass?
My guess is just talking out of your ass
November 30th, 2019 at 7:38 PM ^
People will believe anything when they want to.
November 30th, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
Why is OSU’s football success indicative of the overall success of it’s players in life? It’s not. Football is not life but if OSU and it’s fan base only cares about winning football games, well best of luck to all of you.
