totally agree with you, Palm of CBS has OU as #4 in the CFP and doesn't say who's 5 or 6.  It would be great if Ala was behind Oregon, Utah, and OU, maybe Baylor, meaning they'd be shut out if any of those run the table.  You could also add PSU if the win, to the mix, but that means beating OSU and Minn.

Now that we're into the Committee voting on a weekly basis, AP & Coaches poll are less relevant but do give us a clue. I like MN being #7.

In order for Michigan to have moved up in the polls without playing was for Baylor to lose, but they won in 3OT. They play Okla next, who escaped with a win over IA State.

Penn State still #10 but I feel they could beat MN on a neutral field so their ranking is valid.

Liking Indiana at #25. Hope they get the nod from the Committee but too had a bye week.

Why do people keep railing on MN? There WRs are all BIG, the 3 rbs are as good or better then charbonette or Hawkins.  Morgan is playing better then Patterson.  Fallele, St Justie, Winfield, and Coughlin are all good players. They have a lot of talent, not as much as OSU but it's not a fluke they are undefeated.

I see the usual SEC bias with 3 of the top 5 from the SEC.  It's self-reinforcing.  Bama doesn't belong above other one loss teams with their pathetic non conference schedule and bigger loss than-it-looked at home against LSU.  Georgia doesn't belong that high either with their only "quality"  non-conference win a close one against an ND team we absolutely destroyed.

If the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoff over other one loss power 5 teams, it will be the usual travesty.

And Clemson doesn't belong that high either since they play absolutely nobody and required a miracle to stay undefeated.  If an undefeated UCF doesn't make the playoff, then neither should Clemson with a similar cream puff schedule.

Pedo state loses to a top 10 team on the road and drops 6 spots.  Bama loses to a top 5 team at home and drops half that?

So sick of SEC bias

So Minnesota and Baylor will have to go undefeated to MAYBE make the playoff, while the pundits are going out of their way to find methods to get Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State, and/or Oregon into the playoff with one loss (and even over undefeated Minnesota and/or Baylor)?

Essentially, Minnesota and Baylor will be subject to a history tax.  “Well, you had the same record and a better profile than those programs, but come on. You are Minnesota and Baylor.  Stay in your lane.”

If that happens, what’s the point of the playoff other than for rich programs to get richer?

And to those saying Minnesota is not #7, what’s the argument that they are not right now, other than “they are Minnesota.”

It simply underscores the point of scheduling nobody and having any challenging games at home.  You are not penalized for a cream puff OOC schedule.

Oklahoma - beginning to wonder about them.  Arguably the best offense in America.  But their best win is neutral-site vs. Texas, and then what?  And that defense!!!

The new SP+ has them #5 but my gut is telling me there are really 15 or so teams that could beat them.  Including Baylor and a full handful of B1G teams.

Minnesota at #7 seems a bit high; OU would likely house them and I think schools like Michigan, Utah, and Auburn have the defenses that could mess with their offense.

They feel a bit like Baylor to me, though more consistent.  I still think there are some smoke and mirrors going on, and we may have learned a bit more about PSU than we did about the ceiling for the Gophers.  That said, credit to Fleck for getting this much out of that team.

I often ask what behavior does the NCAA want from schools.   Schedule tough games OOC?  Schedule cream puffs?   AL has played really nobody all year until LSU.  UM schedule much tougher.  It’s all joke.  The $EC laughs to the bank every year.
