Today's Schedule of Games
Not much of a schedule . . . good day to get chores done until our game starts.
But college football is still college football, even if it's just on in the background.
At noon, Florida at South Carolina is one of those "Don't let a team beat you twice" games. Florida is going to have a bad post-LSU hangover, and at South Carolina is not exactly the Bloody Mary cure they need.
Clemson at Louisville is getting some hype, but I'm not feeling it.
In the afternoon, Oregon at Washington is the headliner . . . and that's kind of it. LSU at Miss State might be worth a look to see what the Moorhead offense-in-transition looks like at other places. It's not as easy as we all thought.
Our game at night. If it becomes too big of a blowout (you know, Michigan blowing out Penn State, what did you think I meant?) Arizona State at Utah will be a meaningful game. If Herm wins, I will forever my revise definition of what "competence" means.
Your (early) Pac 12 After Dark special: Arizona at USC. Should be fun, just because.

Here's what I look at. It's a lot more old school:

Baylor vs Okie State is sneaky good
October 19th, 2019 at 10:03 AM ^
I'm guilty of sleeping on Baylor. I still feel as if they got a sort of virtual Death Penalty and that would be the end of them . . . but, damn, they managed to keep it going. Speaks to the amazing talent that is in Texas. The overflow alone could win most conferences.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:14 AM ^
Matt Ruhle is an impressive coach at getting the most out of his players.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:02 PM ^
Baylor is solid and Matt Rhule has done a great job all things considered, but I doubt they're actually a top 25 team. They played no one in the non con, only beat Rice by 8, beat ISU by 3 at home, and needed 2OT and a blown call to beat TTU at home.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:15 AM ^
Go Cowboys! (words I would NEVER otherwise speak, especially on a Sunday)
October 19th, 2019 at 10:19 AM ^
Pokes are favored by 3.5. So looks good to me
October 19th, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
watching OSU last night play like they were all on steroids made me not look forward to any games today. Got stuff to do anyway.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:45 AM ^
I watched highlights on the WR OSU is getting from the Dallas area. ?
My OSU buddy sent me this kids mid-season highlights.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:51 AM ^
What do you mean "like"?
October 19th, 2019 at 10:29 AM ^
Matt Rhule is a good coach. What he has done at Baylor in a short time is remarkable turning around that program after Briles. He was good at Temple too!
If we ever move on from JH, I put him and Matt Campbell has 2 high on the list. Both young (45 and younger) and have done good things at smaller programs.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:47 AM ^
Let's win tonight and beat ND next week and keep Harbaugh.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:59 AM ^
I love that idea. The fact that some in this fan base want this staff to fail is laughable. I don’t want change. But we don’t control the product on the field.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
I just dread going back to the Hoke/RR days. Harbaugh has not accomplished what we had hoped in 5 years. But lets finish the year before we start looking for the next prospect.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
I just want to win some freaking big games...Harbaugh needs to pull this shit together or he looks like Bo Pelini 2.0
When oh when will good teams have to prepare their anus instead of us busting out the prep H?
October 19th, 2019 at 11:35 AM ^
Tonight!! This is the night
October 19th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
So far JH has been like Bo, but the wrong Bo. No B1G titles and not any good road wins in 4.5 years.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:37 AM ^
I’m interested in Temple at SMU. Also, Minnesota. I wonder if Fleck would be interested in UM. I think Michigan needs a younger couch who can connect with the kids
October 19th, 2019 at 10:40 AM ^
Yuck on Flick. His demeanor isn’t what you want for the long haul at a big time program. Oh, let me know when this Minnesota team beats anyone good. I’ll take Campbell, Venables, or Rhule any day over Flick.

October 19th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
Is msu really that big of a step up from Minnesota? I think he stays put
October 19th, 2019 at 11:57 AM ^
I thought he was referring to the suggestion that "Michigan needs a younger couch."
October 19th, 2019 at 10:47 AM ^
Minnesota will likely be 8-0 going into their bye week having played the worst schedule in P5 football. If they beat PSU on November 2nd I'll start paying attention to them.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:03 AM ^
Even that may be a winnable game for the Gophers---we'll know later tonight if Penn St is legit. If they're not, keep in mind that the Penn St-Minnesota game is in Minneapolis, not Happy Valley, and will likely be a toss-up.
After that, the only remaining tough game for Fleck and Company before the season-ender vs Wisky (also in Minneapolis) is their rivalry game at Iowa.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:05 AM ^
You make valid points. I just have a hard time putting much stock in Minnesota this season considering the wins they've had to pull out of their ass against vastly inferior teams. There's a very real chance they could go 11-1 (I can't see them beating Wisconsin despite getting them at home) which would be pretty incredible considering their 5-13 combined B1G record in Fleck's first two years.
Ultimately I think they'll be 9-3 which is still nothing to sneeze at from a Gopher fan standpoint.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
I'm thinking 10-2. Only the slimmest of possibilities they beat Wisky, and they go 1-1 against Penn St and Iowa. That game at Iowa City, even though it's in November, I would guess will be at night @ Kinnick Stadium, a tough task for anyone.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:57 PM ^
That may not be true, I just saw that NC State, VT,and IU have worse schedules, and given how bad the ACC is, probably not a surprise. Right now according to Sagarin, Minnesota SOS is 74, IU is 127, Va Tech is 107, I agree that those colleges' schedule will get tougher while Minnesota's gets worse until their last 3-4 games.
October 19th, 2019 at 10:41 AM ^
What a shit schedule. Maybe the Louisville clemson game can be good for a quarter.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:39 AM ^
Get that grass cut one more time
October 19th, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
This aged poorly. The Wisconsin/Illinois game was great!
October 19th, 2019 at 11:10 AM ^
How many people will be tuning in for Buffalo at Akron? Will there be more than 100 (excluding parents of players)?
October 19th, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
I definitely won't be bruh!
October 19th, 2019 at 11:24 AM ^
Y’all are sleeping on moou vs. bye week. You might look up some stats and see that sparty didn’t score any points this weekend and just assume they played a game.
October 19th, 2019 at 11:30 AM ^
October 19th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
Thanks for posting!
October 19th, 2019 at 11:51 AM ^
Scott Satterfield has done a heck of a job at Louisville. That team was a corpse at the end of last season, but Satterfield has made them respectable in half-a-season. It will be interesting to see how long they can hang with Clemson.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
Watching Wisky at Illinois. If Michigan has Jack Coan, they’d be so much better.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
Taylor wouldn’t hurt either. I would be okay with the team making room for him.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
We just can't compete with teams like Wisconsin and Penn State that have all of those 5-star QBs.
What? No, wait . . .
October 19th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
SCAR up 7-0 early vs Florida. Got stuffed on third and Goal but Florida was offside
October 19th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
I didn’t think our game with Penn State was deserving of college game day...until I saw the other games listed. Woof.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
You figure they'll be in Madison next week for OSU-Wisc.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
Hoping to glean something from watching Wisconsin Illinois. Illinois decided they wanted to win the world's ugliest uniform contest today.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
I just saw Purdue has 12 starters that are true or RS freshmen. If they don't get downtrodden from weekly obliteration, that's a LTFO in 2 years. They could be real good.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
Trevor Lawrence does not look like the same guy from last year. I don't know if he has a bum arm, or his mind ain't on football or what, but the decline from his freshman year is pretty steep. He's made a couple truly horrible throws in the 1st Q.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Make that 3 truly horrible throws. . .
October 19th, 2019 at 12:52 PM ^
Are you #firmforherm?
October 19th, 2019 at 1:40 PM ^
As I watch the BTN Halftime Report, it suddenly dawned on me that the worst thing about Minnesota being undefeated right now is that we have to listen to Glen Mason and his endless cheerleading.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Illini pull within 6 points of Wisconsin!!!
