Not liking OSU’s defense. Mattison seems to have had an effect there
September 14th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
Unfortunately. I agree.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
We will know when they play someone
September 14th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
their D looks stacked
September 14th, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
I agree. But they have flaws - hopefully Michigan can figure a way to attack
September 14th, 2019 at 12:47 PM ^
Well, hopefully the Mattison effect at OSU is the same as at Michigan, where his defenses choke their asses off when it matters most.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:36 PM ^
Well said. ha ha!

It was the old "bend don't break, but if the game is on the line, break" approach.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
I'm at Primanti Bros in PA with a bunch of Penn State fans. Wife day. Ugh.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:52 PM ^
JoePa knew.
September 14th, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
September 14th, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
Fuck them.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
OSU looks impressive. I knew they would, Day is a good coach. Hate to say it, but OSU has had better coaching for the past 15 years, and still do.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
Day has Urban Meyers guys still, who are very talented.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
Their recruiting doesn't seem to be taking a step backwards
September 14th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Michigan has a highly rated class
September 15th, 2019 at 5:51 PM ^
Day has Larry Johnson and the strength and conditioning coach from the urban era they changed numerous position coaches we just need to start looking at our coaching
September 14th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
Should have kept Peters...
September 14th, 2019 at 12:32 PM ^
How come?
September 14th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
R U watching him? See the thread below.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:09 PM ^
You know, it's not like pro sports where you keep guys on contract. He chose to transfer.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:18 PM ^
I just wonder how much of a fair shot he really got.
September 14th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
Check that...glad he left
September 14th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Well, check that again, he's awesome.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
God damn Ohio St looks elite. However, I do think ZC is already as good as Dobbins. So we got that going for us.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
Lot of football to be played before The Game.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
The difference is that Dobbins can go up the gut against IU and not get touched until the LB level at the earliest. ZC has to shake guys at the LOS when he runs up the gut against Army. I wish our OLine could finally get to a point where we could rely on 5 yards up the middle whenever we wanted it against non-Top25ish teams. Oh, the good old days.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Missing two starting Tackles remember??
September 14th, 2019 at 1:38 PM ^
We still dont know if those starting tackles can pull in this new offense. But, ZC will get better with his vision as he gets more comfortable with this level of competition.
Shea just needs to know when to give or pull, in spread option scenarios, it's more on the QB whether or not the RB gets tackled for a loss or runs for 5+ in those scenarios.
Any who, we're lucky to have ZC because he turns a TFL into 3 yards almost every time. He is going to be special to watch these next few years.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:46 PM ^
But the mindset of trying to run into the teeth of a stacked box is baffling. You have to make them pay in other ways. UM staff is too stubborn.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
It’s 7-3 against Indiana....
September 14th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
Wait, the kid who played two games is as good as the kid well on his way to a third consecutive 1000 yd rushing season?
September 14th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
I don't see a scenario where we keep OSU from running all over us. We couldn't stop them from running when we had guys like Taco, Wormley, Glasgow, Hurst, etc etc.. Dobbins and Fields are tough to stop on the ground.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:33 PM ^
IU's O starting to give them fits
September 14th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
we shall see. Cincinnati currently down 10-0 to NTMiami so this may prove to be OSUs first real opponent
September 14th, 2019 at 12:31 PM ^
What a throw by Brandon Peters!
September 14th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Brandon Peters' play is a referendum on Harbaugh as QB guru. My guess is Peters plays better for the Illini than he did for Michigan.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
He will because he actually gets to play at Illinois
September 14th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
My guess is that we beat Illinois with a better QB. And yes he will play much better for Illinois then he did at Michigan, he’s got zero pressure. A lot of guys play better under no pressure than in the limelight of a blue blood program with a rabid fanbase that boos every single QB since Lloyd Carr left.
I’m happy to see him succeeding.
September 14th, 2019 at 1:16 PM ^
Or he might just play better because he's now an upperclassman. There doesn't have to be some psychoanalytic explanation.
September 14th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
In the end he was mediocre today in Champaign. I was at the game. He missed many throws, but his o line played terrible allowing sack after sack
September 14th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
I’ve said it last year and this year Peters > Patterson
September 14th, 2019 at 1:46 PM ^
In what world can someone say that they'd rather have Peters than Shea as of today? It's like they are discounting an entire season's worth of data we have on Patterson plus the implication of Peters sliding to 3rd string last year. Unless you think there is some anti-Peters underhandedness going on with the coaching staff (in which case, your mind is already made up), I simply don't see how anyone can arrive at this conclusion.
Peters will (I hope) play better for the Illini than he did for Michigan. Of course. He only played, what, 3 games?, for Michigan behind a horrendous offensive line. When given the opportunity he looked like an average RS Freshman. He was fine. He's had 2 years to develop and is more used to the college game. I have no doubt will be better and look forward to seeing him play.
But let's not forget that Shea was near the top of the conference at QB across several categories. The Shea criticism through 2 weeks is warranted, but I'll need far more data on both Peters and Year 2 Shea for me to go so far as to say that I'd rather have Brandon.
September 14th, 2019 at 2:12 PM ^
Having been watching the EMU game?
September 14th, 2019 at 2:27 PM ^
Peters > Patterson at getting sacked repeatedly and holding on to the ball too long against Eastern Michigan University? Agreed.
You have your "Jump to Conclusions" game out already, I assume?
September 14th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
You still say that now after the loss? Peters is erratic as hell. Threw a few decent passes but the majority were way off the mark despite having receivers superior to their competition. Plus he still doesn’t protect the ball very well.
i think he’s a guy that can make all the throws but the game is just too fast for him.
September 14th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
OSU looks how I wish Michigan looked
September 14th, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
7-3 against Indiana at the end of the 1st qtr? That does look like Michigan.
September 14th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
And then they turn on the jets... 51-10 (facepalm).
