MBB will face Presbyterian, UMass-Lowell in 2019-20
Two bodybag games are now known for 2019-20 Michigan MBB
We’ll face the Presbyterian Blue Hose for the Christmas break game on 12/21 and then the very next game will be 12/29 vs the Massachusetts-Lowell RiverHawks.
Other confirmed non-conference games include the Gavitt Tip-off Games vs Creighton on 11/12, the ACC/B1G Challenge at Louisville on 12/3 and a home game vs Oregon on 12/14.
Yes!!!
Never trust Presbyterians. I can say that. I was raised one.
Mark Scotty the Scotsman from the Blue Hose down as one of the most plush mascots there is.
Somebody gouged his eyes out!!
there's a warrant out for sparty's arrest.
No way. Spartans are known for their high moral character and good judgment.
Looks like a flannelgraph Sampson character from Sunday school
You can often tell the schools that have changed their mascot recently. Just look for the mascot that is about as boring as plain flavored ice cream, like a river hawk.
Hmmm... there's a bit of a family resemblance here—has Scotty's Presbyterian dad been busy on "business trips" down in West Lafayette?
Mom on the left and Dad on the right?
Fear the brow.

Next season we added Disco Tech to the schedule.
Should be fun.
They just named Lavar Ball as their mascot......
Rowdy the River Hawk is coming to Ann Arbor? Awesome. And Scotty the Scotsman? I guess we can surmise Juwan's scheduling strategy is based on the coolest mascots. Go Blue (not Hose)!
My dad is a UMass-Lowell grad from way back when it was just Lowell Tech. WHO DO I CHEER FOR NOW??
Definitely gonna be uncomfortable for you at Thanksgiving this year.
If you're looking to compare this year's schedule to last year's schedule:
Oregon > South Carolina
Presbyterian = WMU
UMass-Lowell = Air Force.
We still need to schedule our Atlantis mainland game (think Holy Cross), and two bodybags (think Binghamton and Chattanooga). It'll be interesting to see who ends up in those three games, as that will be all the games that the athletic department really got to choose. Atlantis being a better tournament than the Hall of Fame Classic should make up for our ACC/B1G and Gavitt Games opponents being a little bit worse. Depending on what happens with the remaining three unscheduled games, our strength of schedule should be pretty close to last year's, possibly a teeny bit harder.
Any system that effectively incentivises scheduling weak competition (not just MBB, also true for much of CFB and other sports) seems broken to me. The whole point of sport is to continually challenge yourself and prove your worth at each step. Anything less is just training and practice.
(Now, from the underdog perspective this is great in actuality since it is a win-win situation, although going into a game expecting to be destroyed isn't exactly sporting either).
Can't wait to play the blue hose!
Pretty excited for the PC game. I know a number of Blue Hose alums as colleagues and classmates at a Presby seminary.
Go Blue, no Hose.
