Steve Urkel approves!

"Did I do that?"

So what was our final 2019 class ranking. Did we hang on and finish in the top 10? No big surprises for us Today but at least we did not lose anyone.
February 6th, 2019 at 10:32 PM ^
We were # 8 according to ESPN.
February 6th, 2019 at 10:32 PM ^
It looks like we finished #8 in the country and nosed out PSU for the best B1G class in 2019. OSU really sank from the previous 10 recruiting years. The only player to sign Today was Quiten Johnson. Overall a strong class or JH!

Ohio St. was down this recruiting cycle because of class size limitations.
February 6th, 2019 at 11:07 PM ^
Not a big class, but still one of the top rated classes in the star rating category.
Let's see what Day can do going forward. Hopefully he sucks.

Ohio State was down a bit because Urban Meyer is not their coach anymore. He had a top 10 class every year he was coach at OSU. They certainly have a solid class, but get out of here with the only reason they are down is because of their class size. I am sick of hearing that. OSU could sign all 3 stars and somehow either a Michigan fan with BPONE or an annoying Buckeye fan would spin it to somehow make it seem like the greatest thing in the world. I know all fan bases are like this to some extent, but the fact of the matter is we are ranked the #8 class and #1 in the Big Ten.
Go Blue!

PSU could still be #1 if they sign their last guy tho. Dline? I think that's right.

I love Michigan football. I am excited about the future

I too love Michigan football. I am also excited for the future.
February 7th, 2019 at 7:04 AM ^
Conversely, I am excited about Michigan football and love our future.
February 7th, 2019 at 10:21 AM ^
Perversely, I am EXCITED about Converse.

I smiled a little, but how many of these giys were even alive when that show was on the air?
POP QUIZ, HOTSHOTS! Family Matter was a spin-off of what show? This should be easy.
POP QUIZ AGAIN, HOTSHOTS! “As Days Go By” became the theme for the show in season 2. What was the theme song in season 1? No Google.

What a Wonderful World?

Nothing's Gonna Stop You Now, eh Larry?

Die hard. I still feel that family matters is the TV show of the cop.

The video was great, but part of me was sitting here thinking that, whereas I have very clear memories of watching this show, most if not all of these kids were born after it went off the air.
February 6th, 2019 at 11:48 PM ^
seeing as how these kids were probably born in 2001, yeah I think it's safe to say they weren't around to see it. Then again, I watched Gilligans Island and Brady Bunch as a kid, so maybe they were familiar with it.
February 7th, 2019 at 12:38 AM ^
Eh, I'm a prof and I've recently discussed and streamed parts The Jetsons and the original Star Trek. My kids are quite familiar with both. Syndication, yo...
February 7th, 2019 at 7:08 AM ^
They may be last generation to really have any familiarity with classic 60's entertainment though. My kids are elementary age and had no idea who the Looney Tunes characters were that popped up in Super Bowl commercial last Sunday, which blew my mind.

This show started in the late 80s, I watch it time to time. I remember Erkel. I think it ran against quantum leap and night court.
February 7th, 2019 at 7:11 AM ^
Funny thing about Urkel was that he was a peripheral character in the first season, but as time went on they built the whole show around him.
February 7th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
Yup. Just like JJ in Good Times. Which eventually drove John Amos to quit.
February 7th, 2019 at 5:47 AM ^
I don’t think this was meant to be anything but a little bit funny and unique, which it was.
February 7th, 2019 at 12:13 AM ^
I don't know...that's just... weird.
February 7th, 2019 at 12:44 AM ^
Okay, now that I've had a chance to watch and digest those...yeah that's THE GREATEST THING EVER!
February 7th, 2019 at 4:28 AM ^
Maybe a response to the 2 or 3 in-state high school recruits saying they didn't feel the love from Michigan in that Detroit news article?
Article I'm referring to (it was posted here a few days ago):

Instate kids who don't go to Michigan say that every single year.

There isn’t another website/blog/social media platform that I visit whose mobile version is as cluttered with interstitial ads as MGoBlog. Reading comments here is rarely worth the effort of having to scroll past an unending dribble of annoying clickbait ads. Virtually every other site I visit on mobile is as dependent on ad revenue as MGoBlog is, and yet none of them is remotely as irritating to visit as this place is from a basic user experience. If we were told it was intended to drive traffic away from MGoBlog, it would make more sense.

Just get the Ad Blocker app.

An outstanding class...all the way around!!!

Was this your work, Raj?
February 7th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
I see Pep Hamilton isn't getting any credits in these vids. Ouch.
February 7th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Was anyone we signed even alive when Family Matters was a show? Love the idea and content from our social media team, but overall the joke is probably lost on the recruits. Unless Family Matters made a come back or something?

I think Desmond Howard was recruited in '89, along with a lot of others on Mo's talent rich teams. Tyrone was class of '90?
February 10th, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
Desmond was a true freshman in 88, won Heisman as RS junior in 91. Ty was a freshman in 91, no RS.
