B1G Championship Game Interest

Submitted by samdrussBLUE on November 26th, 2018 at 10:23 PM

NW is playing OSU. How much interest do you have in this game?

Are you one of the 'in-the-minority' individuals rooting/hoping for OSU to win because you think this will lead to a better bowl game for Michigan?

I want to see if anyone out there is willing to admit this interest and desire. Does NW have any chance?

I will be pulling for NW all the way, but I am more interested in a number of other games this weekend.

Northwestern's runningback, Bowser, went to the same school I did. Been wishing the best for him and NW and am happy they are in the Big 10 title, so I hope he kicks ass and beats OSU, cause living in Ohio as a Michigan fan is the worst.

NW always plays to the level of their competition. I was at the Iowa game at home vs. NW. NW doesn't make a lot of mistakes, and stays in the game.

I'm hoping for a moral victory, say 34-28 that keeps OSU from playing in the CFB Playoff.

Oklahoma has the better resume, based on least ugly loss.

Send them to the RB where Washington may shock them.

Would love a game vs. Wazzu in Arizona.

Should we root for Ohio State so "we can get a better bowl"?  This has to be the dumbest comment I have EVER read on this blog.  JFC.  You should be ashamed of yourself for asking such a dumb question.

NOOOOOOOOO.  NO WE SHOULD NOT ROOT FOR OSU.  EVER.  FFS.

If OSU dismantles NW and gets the playoffs it's off to the Rose Bowl.

If OSU takes the Rose Bowl, probably Fiesta.

If NW wins....yikes.

OSU's offense isn't going to slow down, they ditched the reliance on RPO's,  found their run game and Haskins finally figured out how he was allowed to run with the ball. Northwestern's offense is MSU-level bad. It's indoors at a field built for a legendary QB. They're fast as hell, NW is thin in the secondary and Urban needs a kill shot to make a playoff case. I don't see it ending well for NW

They'll get destroyed by Bama if they get the playoffs. They'll beat Washington or Utah by 21.  Can't root for them but if they're gonna win, might as well be a blowout

I will be on stage at Hill Auditorium for the x year in a row not caring about the outcome. Some former glee club member will tell me the score at intermission and I'll ask "How's hockey doing?".

I also think top 10 after Saturday is:

Bama

Clemson

ND

Oklahoma

OSU

Georgia

Michigan

UCF

Washington State

LSU

Go 'Cats. I have insufferable OSU-afflicted relatives who need some humility. If an OSU win gets them a suitable depantsing by Alabama that's OK too. I really don't care. I just want a decent bowl/matchup for Michigan. #gfyo

Not planning on watching, thinking the game is going to reach the OSU/Wisconsin score a few years ago. Plan on watching OU/Texas and Bama/Georgia.

I can never root for OSU in anything they do, no matter if it results in a positive for Michigan.  No need to help/assist them against MSU just to have them lick their chops against us.

Will probably watch without much interest, slightly pulling for NW, knowing the outcome will have both pro and con consequences for Michigan (bowl wise vs. long term recruiting wise).  All I really care about the rest of this season is Michigan winning a good bowl game.

Could care less.  I think Ohio State, even with a win, is not passing Oklahoma (who is not going to lose to Texas again), and is not going to go to the playoffs.  So I am not as optimistic as other people on here that Michigan has a good shot at the Rose Bowl.  Looking forward to basketball and hopefully a great football signing day.

I don't have much interest since I think OSU will roll...My prediction is that I drink many beers and despair at OSU beating NW 55-3. It's a good news/bad news thing, I suppose.

Bad News: Obvious bad news is obvious

Good News: better bowl game potentially, OSU getting Bama or getting left out due to Oklahoma

Don't care.  I want to care, because I generally root for Northwestern when they don't play Michigan, but I just don't care.  College football will start to exist again with the Army/Navy game and bowl season, until then FUCK EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I'll watch it, but more than likely as a disinterested third party like I do nearly every non-Michigan game. Whatever the ranking are after CHampionship Saturday, well, that's what they are and I'll be interested to know which bowl we're headed to after that.

After tonight we should have a better idea of how the bowls will line up.

i have Peach Bowl tix, I live in Atlanta, so any chaos that gets Michigan there wouldn’t be the end of the world

I might watch it until the game looks like OSU will win , which will probably be by the end of the first quarter .

So the playoffs this year will be 4 teams that i really hate and dont want any of them to win .

The only way it could be worse was if MSU was in it instead of Clemson or Bama .

The only way i would have any interest in the playoffs would be if Oklahoma gets in . Not a big fan of theirs , but they would be fun to root for and i could tolerate them winning it , which they wont .

Honestly not sure I will be watching it, will probably just get score updates on my phone or whatever. I don't know if I'll watch much championship football this weekend. I don't even know if I am into football anymore, really. It's been weird, man.

I'd love to see Northwestern win, because it would just be an awesome story for Pat Fitzgerald and that entire NW program. I have no issues rooting for that man when he's not playing Michigan. Seems to do everything the right way and still fields quality teams almost every year, which is an incredibly hard thing to do given Northwestern's academic requirements.

Do I think it'll happen? Nope. I think the OSU team we just saw is the one we're going to see for the rest of the year. They'll boatrace Northwestern by the score of something akin to 56-3 and leapfrog Oklahoma to get into the playoff. I'd be happy with the Rose Bowl, but I'd be much happier to go to the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl if it meant OSU lost. That would give me at least some semblance of satisfaction after watching the absolute shitshow that was on display on Saturday.

I'm done watching football for the year. This loss took it out of me. And I'll never root for osu, even if it means them winning could help out Michigan in some fashion.

I have zero interest in that game.  To be frank, I don't have much interest in Michigan's bowl game either.  It feels like the end of the 2006 season, when Michigan backed into the Rose Bowl.  Maybe I'm wrong and the team will respond like the 2015 team (after another ass-kicking from OSU).  But I kind of feel like several players will be sitting out and the team won't put their best foot forward... probably get picked apart again by a vaunted passing attack.  I find myself thinking, "I wish I didn't care so much."

This is my rational thought, not my emotions, believe it or not.  Regardless, Go Blue forever!!!

GO CATS!!

Fuck everything else.

Let NW win and the chips fall where they will.

We'll still play in some kind of NYD bowl no matter what.
