I think it was a great game for recruiting. There were a lot if positives and some improvement in that game. Very proud of the players, and the coaches to a lesser degree.

So that's Borges third or fourth good game in three years.  Kudos.

Glad we got the return of aggressive, gambler Brady Hoke.  That makes me feel better about things.

If they get that fucking review right...

Considering that our main field goal kicker was out, and that we couldn't stop OSU's offense toward the end of the game, on balance I have to think that the 2 point conversion was the right call.

Might as well go for the win in regulation.

I get the feeling that most of this season was Borges just experimenting with his different ideas. Today, it seemed like he had a solid plan and stuck with it, and it looked like the staff did a good job getting these kids ready to play this week. I was impressed. I vote to keep the whole staff for another year, I guess.

Great game by the coaches.  While the youthfulness on offense has been exposed all year, this game it was on defense.  It's not just starters,. but a lack of experienced depth, too.  The future looks bright for Michigan football.

On the 2 pt conversion - Perry is not a good linebacker, especially so on coverage.  Devin has struggled with that sort of route all year long.  I think OSU had a pretty good idea where that was going, and wouldn't have made that play otherwise.  Liked the playcalling on the whole, but didn't like that one.

Draining the clock when your QB is playing one of his best games of the year - probably the best - was a terrible decision.  Turned out to mean a lot in this game.

On Al Borges - No one has ever really questioned that Al could call a good game if everything goes his way.  Understanding what he has and building a coherent offense that maintains competency.  Now we probably have to suffer through a half decade of missing the B1G Championship.

F Jackson needs to retire.  The team played well today, like this one mattered.  It begs the question, what the hell were they doing against Akron, UConn, PSU, Nebraska, NW and Iowa?

This game proves OSU isn't as good as everyone thinks and that BOrges can't be very good because it only called three good games all season.

Credit to the kids!  They played hard and executed very well.  They played toe to toe with a senior laden team that the media thinks is a top 5 team.

A young team. And young teams will lose some games they shouldn't lose, but they will also win some games they shouldn't win. They came up three yards short which sucks but there was enough to build on today to be excited moving forward. Definitely next year though the leash gets shorter and there won't be any good feelings for moral victories.....

I'm against the grain on this one. The same plays have been called most of the season. The offensive line played well today. Gave DG time. When DG has time he executes more than not. Thought the game was called well start to finish. Agree with going for the 4th and 2 the first time. Agree with going for 2. Think the 2 pt call was fine. DG didn't read the defense. That's on him not Borges. Defense has to play better. 400 rushing yards is unacceptable. The future is bright. I'm on the fence about firing Borges. Funk yes still. Borges, I'll let you know if people open up. I would take Lane Kiffin given the chance. Either way, it's been a long season but I still love Michigan and every player on this team. Brady Hoke is our coach and should be. He's not Lloyd Carr 2.0. He was aggressive today and i loved it.

I think he knows offense because I've seen his offenses. He's not a good head coach but i think he's a great offensive coordinator and play caller. He's a pro-style guy. He can recruit his ass off. If he gains his player's respect he'll be fine. I don't think he will be here I'm just saying. Depending on the bowl game playcalling I'd like Borges to stay another year

Overall I thought it was a well coached game.

There was execution on offense, and that helped Devin last a little longer.

Some of the personel in the defensive secondary was frustrating, as was the open field tackling of Miller on particular.

Another suggestion I might have is that Hoke needs to politic the officials a little more. They killed a few drives, and arguably cost us the game.  Maybe its just random, and what goes around comes around, but I think a little more emotion might get the officials thinking twice.

On evaluating Borges until the UFR.  I want to know if he really broke through or if it was our players making incredible plays.  It's a little bit of both.

I love the fact that he used many more screens and hitches.  Clearly did his homework on OSU.  FInally using bubble screens was a good sign.

I don't know what to think.  Borges has called some good games, and then he has called some atrocious games.  Even in this one, he wasn't perfect.  Smarter football people than myself say that his offense is more grab bag than conceptually linked.  If that's the case I guess he should go.

I want to see some more intelligent football people evaluate this game and tell me if it was an anomaly or a sign of progress from Borges.

Brady, can I talk to you? Sure Al, what's up Well, I know that this is 'The Game' and everything that comes with it, but if the Offense looks poor, it will effectively end my coaching career... You've still got a few years of goodwill, I'm on the hot seat. Yea, probably... So what do you want to do? I'm going to pull out all the stops, misdirection, throw-backs... The conversative bias is out the window, young o line or no young o line. Hmmmmm, what the hell, nothing else has worked against teams which actually field a defense. Seriously, if thus is what a fully functioning Borges Offense looks like, sign me up for another year. If we make half the jump from year one to year two of 'pro-style' as we did with spread we should be fun to watch next year.

Going for 2 was the right call. The play call to get 2, not so much.

Execution was an issue this game, and all season. But that buck stops at Borges. He is the coach of the offense.

I think Borges still has to go. Michigan should be winning some of these games. The program needs to make a change for that to happen.

cool down and what not, the dumbest coaching decision today by far that should be talked about is the decision to not go for a field goal at the end of the first half.  We had a minute, a time-out and a first down at what the 30 or something?  40 yards gets you a field goal and they really screwed that up, and it's happened a lot that Hoke makes terrible time decisions before the first half.

Borges called a great game if you consider how bad the o-line has played in the past 4 weeks and how well the offense did against ohio.  Mattison looked bad, but I'm sure  a lot of that was talent/scheme from ohio.

The go for 2 decision was a great call in my opinion, but how big would a field goal been before the half?

Something clicked today on offense, obviously.  I am not sure what it was.  It might have been the fact that it was The Game, but the execution was by far and away the offense has displayed since the ND.  To my eye, it was mostly the OL actually blocking and giving the RB's some creases to run through.  Ohio's defense had to respect the run, and the play-action passes were that much more effective.

All season long Borges has been preaching execution and the effect it has on play calling.  It doesn't take much, just a decent runs on first down, and the flow of the offense is totally different.  I thought Borges called some great screens, especially late in the game.  I've been saying for a while now that I think the coaching staff took a dogmatic approach to play-calling and scheme in the hope that the young OL would finally "get it" against a good defense.  Today, I think they "got it" and hopefully have turned the corner against a very good OSU defense, and I think the staff's willingness to keep grinding payed off.

This game went about how I expected, except our offense kept pace with their offense.  I was very dissappointed in the defense's inability to stop their run, but then, with that OL (notice they had 100+ collective starts?), Braxton, and of course Hyde, it's not surprising.

I've very proud of Team 134, and I think the staff did a great job getting them ready to play.

Go Blue!

I agree ford, the refs were pathetic and gutless.  I saw uncalled holding several times on OSU's front 7.  Realize this happens every game, yada yada yada but

Also, consider:

1. Frank Clark gets an "unsportsmanlike" penalty of 15 yards for getting in Miller's face, briefly, after a tackle.  DID ANYONE NOTICE THAT MILLER'S HAND made contact with Clark's face mask?  What the heck was that call?  Because you want to "calm down" the game post-fight?

2.  Multiple times, Hyde gets big gainers up the middle and he clearly gets up and hovers over our guys after the play and talks smack.  Where is the call there???  Clearly unsportsmanlike conduct if we're going by the precedent set by a 15-yarder on Clark.

3.  Late hits on Gardner, resulting in no flag: there is just one that really sticks out, in my mind.  Third quarter (I believe) Gardner had released it right before the lineman crashes into his mid-section.  Now, I realize physics etc etc but if you watch the play, the lineman clearly pauses, then proceeds to send Gardner harder to the turf.  This pause by the lineman makes it more then likely it should have been a penalty.
