coaching snowflakes, lol

On the bright side, we'll undoubtedly make TWIS this week. I'll admit that I was laughing maniacally when Devin turned the ball over and then again when Iowa through for a first down on 4th and ten.
I can't understand how an offense with that kind of talent can be THAT bad so near the end of the season. And as has been pointed out, they're constantly sliding towards worse each week. It's not like Iowa's good.

No.... don't turn down any bowl, we CLEARLY need the extra practices. I don't give a damn about honor, I care about getting better for next year. We're one decent OC away from being a good football team.

Fortunately for us the same people that watch the threads also watch the Michigan games.

Something had to chance, whether it be personnel or not, something HAS to change. I'm not looking forward to next week
Did see Hoke with a headset on. Yay?
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:24 PM ^
Man, you must be fuggin' wasted.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:07 PM ^
Or he's on a phone with autocorrect. But wasted is the appropriate response for the calamity that is Michigan's offense, unless you're not into the sauce. In that case, unfiltered cigs. Two at a time.

To call what is going on out there half the time "coaching" is suspect.
I think we know which half I'm referring to.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:21 PM ^
I dont want to trade a coach's job with a W. But this game should solidify Borges's retirement. Besides, we don't have any chance vs OSU. Bye Bye Borges!
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:27 PM ^
This is the first time I have even considered uttering the words 'fire hoke' but he has no control over his staff and when the offense fails enough the defense losses faith and falls apart...
I feel worse right now than the end of the RichRod era.
I feel worse right now becasue I know Hoke and co. will be back next year and we will have similar results...
How did this happen?
This isn't the lions where I could go lions free; This is my team, my school, and our collective embarassment...
Borges playcalling is predictable and easy to stop... if it wasn't for this defense we would have been shut out by freaking Iowa.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:39 PM ^
But realistically he won't and probably shouldn't be terminated yet. It's just not good for college program's morale to fire a coach after 3 seasons once again (unless he does something naughty off the field). He'll likely at least be safe through about 2015 before Brandon considers terminating him.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:18 PM ^
Great, Michigan is closing in on a full decade of mediocrity while attempting to maintain it's 1A image. Guess what? Every recruit from now on is only going to remember middling to bad Michigan football, on par or worse than Michigan State. It's amazing that we're holding onto these recruits even now.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:57 PM ^
There are very few coaches knows both X and O. Including Saban, Meyer, you name it. I don't have problem on relying on the OC to do the job, but HC needs to guide the OC during the game, and make critical call. More importantly, he needs to find a better OC and co. to have good game plan and player development, Al Borges and co. failed in the past 3 years. On the other hand, Greg Mattison is doing pretty good, our defense will stablize in the next few years.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:16 PM ^
The D will be better next year. The offense....?

Neither one is capable of running a team. Have only wanted borges and offense's staff changed but the more i think about it the more i realize he will never get it done.

Urban is going to eat Borges Lunch next week and it is hard to take that man's lunch
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:43 PM ^
I've been saying it for the past few weeks now. I think next weekend is going to be a whole new low for us. I think OSU is going to put 40 or more on us and we'll be lucky to sniff the red zone. If you look at the actual match ups from a stats standpoint, man this one is going to be all kinds of ugly.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:11 PM ^
I could see like 52-13, mainly because the defense will be put in shitty positions time and time again by a great offense and our own terrible offense's ineptitude. And we get 7 from a fumble return TD. This is going to be bad. Really, really bad.

November 23rd, 2013 at 3:22 PM ^
Somebody on this staff has to go. Borges please. Offensive line actually played decent. So we can't blame it on them.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:24 PM ^
They could not. The OL was, again, a clear factor in the offense's ineptitude.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:31 PM ^
Iowa didn't have a problem catching the fucking ball, throwing the fucking ball, or running the fucking ball. It wasn't too fucking cold or windy for them. The difference is the fucking coaching!
November 23rd, 2013 at 5:58 PM ^
Our coaching SUCKS!
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:30 PM ^
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:22 PM ^
But the debate doesn't matter. The evidence is visible on the field--the offense stinks. And it has regressed throughout the season.
Numbers don't lie. The coaching staff must be changed.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:26 PM ^
Welcome to the club Steven. I've been saying that since the PSU game and gotten a fair amount of grief for being too vocal about it. Nice to see you make the switch.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:30 PM ^
you are right. Though I suspect being right doesn't make you feel any better...
This program is dead right now and needs resuscitation.

I think the largest failure, by far, has been the OL; a good OL would mask the issues in other areas. But Michigan's growing inability to execute anything speaks to wider issues that cannot be ignored. And fit into a pattern that has been seen at places like Auburn.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:15 PM ^
I'm pretty much with you step-for-step, right down to Nebraska, and in the belief that no matter what occurs (unless we hang 40 on OSU in regulation somehow) Borges must go, and, really, entire offensive staff has to go. New OC can re-hire who he wants, if they're most qualified/best fit, from the current staff after they've been let go first. This has to end.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:46 PM ^
Since the PSU game? I've been saying that since the Akron game.
November 23rd, 2013 at 4:02 PM ^
That was the leading indicator. Michigan should have man-handled them, and they didn't. After that game I argued against the "a W is a W" argument ... because it wasn't. The way that W was achieved was a loud warning signal that something was very, very wrong.
November 23rd, 2013 at 5:33 PM ^
Anyone that did that shoud have been criticized. While it is true that Akron was a bad bad sign, there was no coherent case, at all, to be made for firing Borges back then. Now the case is obvious, but then it was only a warning sign.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
Yes, it takes a great deal of insight and fortitude to call for coaches' heads when practically every friggin fanboy is doing that from the very first play of the year.
November 23rd, 2013 at 3:29 PM ^
Does Michigan's offense have the tools to be good? I think our player development has been horrific. I see players dropping passes, missing blocks and assignments, making poor decisions and DG is getting worse. He played an awful game. That is on the coaching staff.
