“He’s a project,” guard Willie Colon said. “But he’s a project worth dealing with.”

And it was a good read. Here's hoping Will finds some success in the NFL

i don't remember when i heard this, but, cass tech hs football coach thomas wilcher was being interviewed on wtka by sam webb and wilcher said that campbell went to defense at michigan because the team needed him there, and that wilcher thought campbell was better suited to the offensive line.
i don't even remember whether rodriguez or hoke was the michigan hc at the time

Actually Carr & RR if I remember right. Came in on DL in RR's first year, switched to OL a year later, Hoke came in and moved him back to DL.

WC asked to move back to defense. At least that's what WC said at the time

He preferred defense, he only switched to OL under Rich Rod because he hated his position coach and was tired of being yelled at. When Hoke came in...he asked to switch back because he preferred defense (despite possibly being better suited for OL). Hoke was in his first year AND he's a DL coach...of course he said yes.
Let's not forget that Q may be our starting LG right now if he didn't switch to defense (and stay).

Big Will wanted to play D (intially). Cass Tech has a history of large, tall humans who think they belong on the other side of the ball despite probably being better suited for the OL.
RR started him off on the D side of the ball but it was pretty apparent that he would never learn to keep low (so say the practice rumors) and eventually moved him to guard and flipped Q. Wash over to D. Once Hoke got here he moved him back to D b/c of our non-existent DL depth where he became serviceable but ended up being drafted as a OL.

is to think of the opposing linemen as car hoods to crush.

I wish him the best...unless he plays against the Lions. Good Luck Will.

Outside of the quarterbacks, I don't think I ever remember a player who was singled out more by the fanbase and put under a microscope like we did with Will last year. I think Mattison was aked about him in just about every presser last offseason.

I can't help but pull for the man who gave us this quote (regarding a trip to the beach as the team prepared for his last bowl game):
"It's hard out here. I done fought two sharks, wrestled a sting ray, ate two crabs -- had butter out there. It's hard out here, but you know how we do it. I'm from Detroit. You know, it was nothing. Two great whites, punched a whale in the face -- easy day. Go Blue." -- .

BWC, poet first...football player second.
