Mich v UConn TV showings panic averted EDIT: for some not all
Hey folks, I just checked the future schedule for the game on the DTV guide, I get the NYC ABC affiliate and it finally shows our game listed at that time slot.
I also checked the San Diego affiliate for ABC and it was showing KSU v TX earlier but now indicates a TBD, I wouldn't doubt if Mich. game is shown, luckily, I get the NYC channel, yay for me!

Gameday in Fargo, ND.
Michigan-connecticut as the ABC game.
Man I bet people are jacked up for this weekend all around the country.

I like to have at least one fall weekend before the weather turns nasty where I don't feel compelled to stay in and watch football.
September 17th, 2013 at 6:21 PM ^
Lucky for you, Michigan has a rare double bye. Only have had a double bye once.

for everyone this 2013 season as well as the 2014 season. Labor Day falls on Sept 2nd, 2013, and Sept 1st, 2014, thereby opening up an extra Saturday before December. That's why. One extra weekend of college football overall and two bye weeks for your favorite college football team.
September 18th, 2013 at 10:09 AM ^
That's why I look forward to fall

sarcasm all around, I don't care as long as I get to watch my beloved Wolverines, all is right with the world!

I will edit the title, I had not considered your plight, I was just so happy for me, I got hasty about it.

and it does not have the teams listed yet, just the dreaded "no information available."
[EDIT: Kansas State vs. Texas... Blasted local affiliate! Road trip? =)]

What is the turnout at Fox and Hound for these games? I moved to south of Fort Worth about 6 months ago and looking to meet people. I would just hate to drive all the way out there to find out nobody is there. Any insight into this?

I live in Newport Beach, have DirectTV, and get the LA ABC affiliate feed. Motherfucking UT-KSU still. FML.

Meets at Tustin Brewing Company and TBC shows every UM game. I am ASSUMING they will find a way to get it because they host the group every Saturday.

I'm interested, I'm still trying to hammer out what our plans are for the game. What part of SD are you in?
September 17th, 2013 at 6:33 PM ^
Isn't the game either on ABC or ESPN2 depending on what market you are in?
If you can't afford basic cable (enough to get ESPN2), then I don't know what to tell you. You are doing something wrong. If stuff like this cannot motivate you to do something better in life, nothing will.

September 17th, 2013 at 6:43 PM ^
Did you ever stop to think that maybe the reason a person doesn't have ESPN/2 has nothing to do with their financial situation? There are some people that choose not to pay $60-100 just for access to the only 2-3 stations they would watch. That's what streaming is for, because it's better than giving into the cable companies scam to force you into paying for channels you don't care about.
Maybe the one who needs motivation to do something better in life is the one who places such a high value on mostly worthless television programming.
September 17th, 2013 at 6:51 PM ^
You need to take the things I say on this board much less seriously.
I thought it was a mirror, it isn't. That sucks.
Also, we all have things we value and are willing to throw money at. Cable has been on a pretty good run the last 30ish years, so I will say my penchant to throw money at 'mostly worthless tv programming' is something a lot of people do. While others say 'F the system' and steal, I mean stream, it all online. I raise my glass to you, lord Voldemort, because you have clearly worked the system better than I. Three cheers! Hip, hip, hooray!
September 17th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
I think you need to be much less of an asshole when saying things on this board. Sorry mods, just calling it like I see it.
September 17th, 2013 at 9:41 PM ^
I'm pretty sure the mods are well aware of which ones of us are habitually assholes, and Rager's an even bigger asshole than I am.
September 17th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
You're right. I truly can't understand why this guy still has an account. Not one mod has taken an eleven second glance at his posts and determined that he adds absolutely nothing to the board. Every day it becomes more apparent why newcomers are hesitant to provide anything of substance to the boards; lest they have to deal with the customary ignorance of Rager and the like.
September 17th, 2013 at 10:40 PM ^
on this board? What determines the quality level of participation? Why does most everything fly here except if someone doesn't seem to like the poster for reasons that are not clear to a casual observer? I would just love to know before wading in too deep.
September 17th, 2013 at 11:13 PM ^
Respecting the same etiquette one would adhere to in a conversation with a random person in the street would be a good start. Be friendly, ask questions, provide insight, express opposite views if the conversation warrants. Most importantly, be respectful, which is where Rager falls short. He's obviously an internet tough guy that would be punched in the face three times per day if he spoke to people in the streets as he does on here.
September 18th, 2013 at 9:56 AM ^
Wait, you all don't correct grammar and bitch at people for trying to talk to you about something you've already talked about when in person?
September 18th, 2013 at 10:58 AM ^
Respectfully, I usually only get punched once or twice in the face per day by being who I am. Not three. Jeez.
September 17th, 2013 at 6:37 PM ^
Isn't there a reverse mirroring contract still? I'm on the fire Dave Brandon bandwagon is we signed up for a podunk game at a rinky-dink stadium that isn't even on TV. Fucking AAC.
September 17th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
As a CT resident I beg to differ. Just got my tickets and they're on the 30 yard line. This will be a rare chance to see in Michigan up close in a smallish venue that is actually pretty nice.
I'm planning on a truly splendid day and evening.
September 17th, 2013 at 7:26 PM ^
September 17th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
He should. The standard reverse mirroring gets us on network TV in 25-85% of the country and on ESPN2 for the remainder. If I were him, I'd prefer 100% of ESPN/ABC to anything less. I don't think network vs non-network matters anymore, unless the non-network is BTN.
I know Bill Martin signed up for this fiasco, but Brandon has had a long time to buy out this game and get us back in a home game. UConn is essentially an above average mid-major. We should be playing those games at home. We would never dream of taking a road trip to Central Florida or Western Kentucky. I'm not sure why UConn is any better.
September 17th, 2013 at 9:35 PM ^
The first road game of the season is usually pretty rough--first time dealing with travel, first time dealing with communication issues because of the crowd, etc. I'm glad there'll be a chance to get the kinks out before Penn State.
September 17th, 2013 at 10:35 PM ^
September 18th, 2013 at 8:56 AM ^
Actually Dave tried to get out of the game or at least move it to a larger stadium, but the UConn AD did not want to change it.
September 17th, 2013 at 9:35 PM ^
Bill Martin kind of signed the contract for the home and home.
Michigan does not go all notre dame on teams. They honor their commitments. Brandon could have taken the cash and ran away but he didn't.
I'm sure if people could find a way to blame Brandon for their toilet being backed up they would. Amusing.

Well, hopefully having another nationally televised night game plus what is supposedly a grueling week of practice will give the players enough motivation to actually go and play Michigan football. I want everyone in the country to see UCONN get slapped silly. I want to see all of their players with that depressed look that you usually see on snack teams when they realize that regardless of how hard they try and how well they get coached, they will not be able to get the game even close.

If you are in the LA area, send a note to Channel 7 requesting they show the game. Can't hurt.
