It is very difficult which mediocre Big 10 team to focus on tonight. So.many.choices.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
Looking like ND wasn't very good afterall.

So...Purdue and their "young" interior OL is getting a push, they start a sophmore center and 2 RS Fr guards.

Any verbal description of competent line play could be a troll of Michigan.

So Purdue doesn't seem to ba having much trouble getting pressure with 4 against ND....

that got crushed by Cincy? Maybe a little brother effect going on here where a bad team, gives their big brother their best shot.

One of the more interesting discrepancies in the ND-Purdue game right now is the ability being shown to sustain drives. About 16 minutes or so of regulation play and ND has run all of 12 plays on offense, whereas Purdue has run 29.

Their young OL is getting the job done against this talented front. Can't compared apples to oranges, but their interior is just as young as ours.

Nice to see Purdue keeping their NT on the field instead of yanking him for lighter guys all the time. Makes a difference....
September 14th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
Was just going to bring this up.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:13 PM ^
Michigan wants all their NTs to lose weight.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
having a big game hangover just like we did. Please let ND just be having a big game hangover like we did.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
But objectively, they appear to suck. Which is just 100% bad news for us.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
Is it me or do refs suck ass these days? Clock should've stopped in the psu game.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:08 PM ^
Unless there's a new rule, that should be 30+ seconds still on the clock.

September 14th, 2013 at 9:13 PM ^
so you're right on about that.

covered spread:
Indiana (by a ton), Iowa (not quite over but looks a lock).
failed to cover:
Michigan,Nebraska, Minnesota (can probably cite extenuating circumstances there but it happens so often it's sort of part of their program now), Penn State (not quite over but looks a lock).
ahead of cover but the game's not over:
Illinois, Purdue (still plenty of time to collapse though)
on track to cover: Ohio State
still to play: Northwestern, Wisconsin.
That's not a disaster. You didn't really expect Illinois to beat Washington, did you? Three teams have been much better than expected today, three teams were much worse, the other three have been pretty much in line.

PSU loses to UCF, Illinois about to lose, if Wisconsin can do it, my 3 for 3 prediction works out. But I had Purdue losing.

This week reminds me a whole lot of 2010, when we almost lost to UMass after an emotional win against ND that had everyone thinking we had arrived. This all could very well be a fluke, but I just can't shake the sound of war drums in the distance.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:19 PM ^
but I just cannot believe that these are going to turn out the same way. Vastly more talent on D than we had then, with an established great coordinator. OSU manages to nearly lose to a terrible non-con opponent every year and still gets 10 wins. I think we're closer to OSU than 2010 Michigan

Football is weird and flukey weeks happen. I'm having a hard time convincing myself at the moment, though.

ND looks really, really bad tonight. Rees can't hit the broad side of a barn.
